Article about GTA V being released in October

All right guys, just came across this article. Fair warning it is nothing that hasn't been really discussed before, so basically its just a fresh set of eyes. What I found interesting though is the relation between release date and trailer announcment with other GTA games. This is also helpful in correlation to how long we actually waited so here is the link:

(Hope this is helpful. If this has been posted before...then I didn't see it. Sorry.)

Just because you see this pattern here doesn't mean it's true, things change every time they make a game for example the October releases from them changed to May, the back to back years of GTA changed after Vice City... seriously this has to stop with speculations unless they actually say it's true

The past can tell us something when we have nothing but truth is there are no rules and this time is always a different scenario. I'm still hoping for a fall/xmas release but I'm not betting anything on it. I just want the game sooner than later, and hoping they are basically finished it.

Still indicators pointing to GTAV coming very soon, still indicators saying the game is coming later.

The only people that are wrong are people dead certain of one or the other.

There's no reason to leave other Rockstar games off the chart. It doesn't matter if it's GTA or any other game. Releasing a trailer made of actual game footage means not just a lot of work is done but that MOST of the work is done. There isn't an unlimited amount of work after that.

Thinking it's going to be a lot more than a year after a trailer just isn't logical.

Did it really take that long for the TLAD to come out???

No it was 64 days from TLAD's trailer to its exclusive Xbox 360 DLC release. They must be confusing it with the release date of EFLC. Technically EFLC is the final version of TLAD because the map was updated to match TBOGT but I think they just screwed up the dates in the chart.

EDIT: actually I take that back, the chart is based on earliest announcement, not first trailer. TLAD was officially announced 89 days before it was released. The chart seems to be using a February 2008 announcement of a release date of the unnamed first episode of DLC but the plan for episodic content was announced the same day GTA IV was in 2006, so it's inconsistent. They should have used the November 2008 announcement of the title.

The days between GTA4 trailer and GTA4 release...

Is that the original October 2007 release, OR, the pushed back 27 April 2008 release?

If it's the latter, then that makes a huge difference.

This chart is completely meaningless because there has been practically nothing relating to GTA V in 9 months. Once the marketing actually starts, then we can begin a timetable. All the other titles had a constant flow of information from the first trailer until release. We should pretty much be at 0 days on the GTA V timetable.

We got like 4 more months till the year's out and still not much to talk about which is R* i mean but i'm sure that they will have some news for us soon , i'm not sure if we can expect GTAV this year. Its best for next year then just saying and i reckon R* must be tired of Max Payne 3 marketing campagin already, there is plenty of time next year. smile.gif

If we don't know the date already it just means it is 2013, unfortunately for Rockstar that isn't ideal, but a game like GTA will always do well, especially if you take in consideration that both Microsoft and Sony will postpone their new gen consoles and therefore the big publishers will wait for them, Wii U may be a great machine with loads of potential hidden but i'm afraid that alone no company but nintendo will follow, leading to rushed games and postponed games. Microsoft are trying hard to monopolize the world again this time on tablets and phones and Sony will in search of liquidity.

Well again, that attitude discounts the fact that the trailer, being game footage, is a milestone that proves a lot of work was done. All of Rockstar's games have that milestone in common. If there's a legitimate trailer it means the game is months away not years away.

That graph and article is wrong. It claims it takes the earliest announcement. GTAIV was announced in May 2006, and came out nearly two years later in late April 2008. Even if it came out in October 2007 as it was originally announced in May 2006, that would be 1 year and 6 months.

GTA IV's date is qualified by the circumstances of the Microsoft deal to announce the existence of something exclusive about GTA for Xbox 360 before the PS3 was released.

If you use a more consistent milestone of first information and content being revealed (it's Liberty City, first trailer), then March 2007 would be the date (chart's still wrong then).

so the novermber 25th is the prediction? based on what, I know there is a battern that it takes about a year from announcement and less than 400 days but what made them choose that exact day?

anyway it is wrong, that is a sunday, major releases are usually on a Tuesday. smile.gif not a sunday, f*ck that would be bone-dead moronic to release a game on SUNDAY!, dunno bout the States but here in UK the supermarkets go to 6-hours and a lot of shops just shut, so first day sales will be low.

Anyway these correlations mean jack, this is the biggest GTA to date, by far, so it stands to reason that we are gonna be waiting for it for a lot longer than normal, don't even mention GTA SA wait time cos they kept that under their hats until quite late in the development and it was a different generation.

Their has either been a snag or they are trying to iron out as many bugs as possible for a better game, indtead of just going "ah f*ck it" and releasing it with bugs *cough*bethesda*cough**cough*

Id rather wait for a longer period of time and get a complete game, than wait a few months and get a broken one.

We need a release date already... confused.gif

They haven't given us one because they don't have any concrete deadlines to work with. With development, things can change very quickly and release date windows are unreliable. So are the release dates when they're revealed early on.
