JOKA22
I know this may be taking the realism side of things a bit too far, but I don't see how it could hinder gameplay in any negative way. Gas stations have always really just been there to blow up, serving no real purpose in terms of interaction. I felt Rockstar tried to experiment with a lot of things in 4 (ie the whole Car wash feature), but most were slightly gimmicky. If GTA V is anything like San andreas (in terms of size), then refuelling on long road trips would really add to that experience of realism. After all, it's the little things that count (Apologies, my search abilities aren't what they used to be. I Didn't want to bump an ancient topic that had gone off on a tangent) Edited August 10, 2012 by JOKA22

Outplug
Wouldn't you just to love to be on that six-star police chase and all of a sudden, you're slowing to a stop as the car begins to loop an annoying sound?

Hayze
Honestly, I'd rather not have to deal with it. Even though if it was added I wouldn't be crazily against it since it could add some interesting facets to gameplay like the whole crazy cop chases since if you run out of gas you're either f*cked, need to go out guns blazing, or option 2 + find the next car to escape in and hope that has enough gas to get somewhere safe. JOKA22
Glad to see the search function came to use... Oh but I did, sadly I didn't want to bump an ancient topic with immature replies(such as yours) Especially since they're not talking about the "exact" same thing. @HAYZE Wouldn't it be similar to the gta4 ignition feature, where your car wouldn't start if it took a certain amount of damage? Personally I think it would add to the tension. It's not exactly hard to find another vehicle, but I see what how it could be cumbersome in a tight 6 star situation. AtomicPunk
As I said in the other 4 topics about this very subject, I think it could make things interesting if done right. Especially being in a plane and it start spuddering and get that "oh sh*t, I might have to parachute out this mutha" type of feeling. Memorable moments is key. The same with being in a car chase and running outta gas and truly have to car jack somebody out of necessity to escape. But we don't need to fill our tanks up every 10 minutes though. But the damage that your vehicle takes is something that you as the player can control. Fuel on the other hand, is up to chance.
r0eladn
When thinking if something is a good addition or not, i always like to take things to the extreme. In this specific subject it might not give the proper perspective, but whatever. If refuelling would be added. Whats next? Taking a piss, sh*t, eat, and if you dont, there are repurcusions. (dont know the correct spelling on that word) As said before, taking the extreme doesnt give the right perspective in this case. I think if refuelling is added, it would just make the player steal an other car when the fuel is low. Whether if this is a good addition to the game or not, when talking about if it will be added, i am 95% sure it wont.
theworldfamous
I think it's basicaly a good idea with my gripe is with the implementation. How long does a tank last? If it's too short it's annoying, if it's long it inconsequential

The addition of charge points for electrical cars would also be pretty cool. We know rockstar loves the The Dilettante.

You would think that someone whos been a member here since 2007 would know better. Many topics about this and if your plea is they are ancient, i know you can find one that was created in 3 months or less. Thats not an acient bump, so this is not needed shame on you old forum member. OT just like all of the other ones it would be interesting and id like to see the experiment. r0eladn
No...just no! Who used the car wash in IV? I bet the most of the players only used it in the mission it was necessary in. I think it will be a pain in the ass.

Funnily enough I'm currently studying for a BA in games dev/technology. Stealing a car is the easiest thing to do in any gta game, so I don't see how running out of petrol could be a problem, apart from the 6 star/police situation that I've already mentioned.(and even that isn't that much a hindrance) All really depends on what you define as negative. Different gamers have different tastes. Some like a challenge, some like their games to be easy. You seem to be of the latter variety?
