[WIP|IV] Mafia:The city of Lost Heaven Rage

what is the progress in percentage terms at the moment?

2)Love it, this game is history.

 

You can add a tram, IV:SA achieved it.

 

It's replaced by the Cable Car, perfect speed.

3)Anyways, before I get EFLC going, I'd like your take on the idea with the 1930's and 2010's as you want to do the 30's and now.

 

I think the 1930's would be more suited for DLC 1 (TLAD) because of:

-Font colors in TLAD are a lot like Mafia 1 (and the TBoGT rainbow, and episode font colors in start menu are coded in the exe for some reason. I don't know why. The rainbow can be modded on the Xbox 360 version.)

-A few older looking cars like Slamvan and the Tow Truck. (Though Slamvan is TBoGT too.)

-Noise effect adds an "old movie effect".

-I don't know specific details, but some of the TLAD weapons seem to me like they might be older guns but I don't know if that is true.

 

I think the 2010's would be more suited for DLC 2 (TBoGT) because of:

-Font colors in TBoGT (rainbow that can't be changed) is more suited for modern times than the 30's.

-Better cars

-Higher height limit simulates aircraft being better in modern times than the 30's.

-Nitro (I'm sure this wasn't common in the 30's lol)

-Parachute if it works. (I'm sure present day Lost Heaven has sky scrapers. Parachute would be useless in the 30's.)

-More advanced modern weapons.

 

I'd like to know because when I start, I don't want to do the 30's on TBoGT, then find out I got to move them to TLAD.

3)I agree with u,it the most luck placement for two variation of games in different times

4)In fact, glossy is not as noticeable, which seems.I wanted to show him that you appreciate my work done.Glitter is not particularly visible longer discern the topography

Normal maps are used to give flat surfaces depth, to save polygons and to simply give it a nicer look. Spec maps are for reflection.

You need to watch out combining them, if you give windows a normal map, it will reflect the depth of the normal map, which is bad.

 

Roads do reflect the sun, I think Alber did a good job on them, I don't know why you guys complain, it should be there.

Well I dunno, all gta iv roads use that texture. If you black out the specular map, the road reflection will disappear, it'll still have reflections at day, however if you black out the normal map like I said, the roads won'T have reflections at all when it's rainy, therefor it removes the rain effect. If rockstar did it like that, that's how every1 should imo. Tbh the only thing I care about is, to not have road reflections when there's no rain, idc about the other stuff.

Somehow the latest GIMS/OPENIV series doesn't allow to replace textures in .wtd, only way is to reexport .odr models of the roads with new texture.

Before it was all possible smile.gif but i really don't see a problem in roads, it's good imo. On other hand i do see your point cause R* didn't really took their time on the textures in IV.. They even putted spec to grass and other terrains aswell, when only roads and windows are inneed of it icon14.gif

i think you can best make 2 mods!!

1. the map only (or with origional gta iv vehicles and peds)

2. the map and vehicles and peds etc. (from mafia the city of lost heaven)

 

or make an seperate mod that installs the vehicles, peds etc.

 

unfortunately i can't mod otherwise i would help you but i hope that this wil help you with modding

 

hope you will convert the cars etc. too for the fans of mafia!! biggrin.gif

Great. Ill base TLAD off of the root common so it has a identical setup to the IV version. TBoGT will have its own files.

Great work and IMO keep it in the 30's it would look strange in the 2010's.

 

I don't know why this mod is so hard to find I only found it accidently on some Brazilian site confused.gif

I like this project. I remember playing Mafia 1 for hours and didn't get bored of it. In my opinion, no game has and will never have a better storyline than Mafia 1.

 

I really hope one day you will release the first beta of this mod including its classic songs on the radio!

Some bad news. I won't be able to do EFLC for a few weeks. My EFLC disk has a crack that's been gradually growing. The disk is readable, but it doesn't unlock the game.

 

I can use a crack however with a crack not every script in the script.img works so I won't be able to guarantee it will work with out a crack. I own the GFWL DLC version of TLAD and TBOGT but Ill need a decrypted setup.xml, content.dat, and images.txt from the GFWL DLC. Not EFLC as they are different.

 

Once ether the following happen Ill continue the port.

-replacement disk.

-I figure out a way to make the disk able to be verified by LaunchEFLC.exe

-get a copy disk that the original LaunchEFLC.exe will accept.

I facepalm at CD/DVD tech nowadays... USB Disc technology is much better and would be better to sell things on. Just my opinion

Thanks. I'll give it a try. It could work because once in a great while the disk works, or it doesn't. Sometimes when it doesn't work, it doesn't have the EFLC icon, just the white sheet of paper unknown file icon.

 

Anyways why don't I use a crack?

 

Simply because I don't know if it will affect the outcome of how the mod runs on a cracked version vs a non cracked version. I'm not sure as to whether if the security measures are hard coded in the exe it self, or in the script.img. Which means the scripts have a possibility of not functioning properly. Maybe the script could be disabled because I'm using a crack, but it turns out that it crashes or has bugs on EFLC which means with out crack = crash, and with crack = lack of features. Its better to take the extra measure so the mod isn't released with any issues. It probably would be fine, but I want to make sure I'm running my game the way other people are running it. (Those who legitimately purchased the game.)

To avoid that kind of thing, I bought the GTA collection on Steam again (I have them all on DVD but it's good to have an extra copy in the case of something like happened to you) and I think you also should, if you don't want to use cracks.

To avoid that kind of thing, I bought the GTA collection on Steam again (I have them all on DVD but it's good to have an extra copy in the case of something like happened to you) and I think you also should, if you don't want to use cracks.

Problem with steam though is its a little harder to mod it. I'll check on Rockstar's support and see if I can get a replacement disc.

 

Plus, my extra copy of EFLC is the GFWL DLC of TLAD and TBoGT for GTA IV. I just miss out on EFLC Total Conversions on the GFWL DLC (no idea why, but the DLC is more sensitive to modding and crashes for no apparent reason), however they are all on IV as well, but are missing a few features.

 

Edit: Disc really started having issues when I wanted to play IV SA. Because it didn't shut down properly, the launcher f*cked up my EFLC registry so now when I load the game it tries to load the DLC files from IV SA. I found this out because I managed to get the game to start once, then the game crashed because it tried to use IV SA DLC folder on the normal game. I'm sure if I launch IV SA, play it, then shut it down properly, it will go back to normal. Only thing is IV SA launcher won't launch the game with a crack.
