I was thinking that after I read it - so that's two of us. Maybe simultaneous release on all platforms or no exclusive DLC.

 

I also think R" would be upset to see this thread has been put in the "official" forum, god knows why they made an "official" forum

It won't continue 5 or even 7 months. The twitter feed will stop but Rockstar's official campaign will continue right through until release in March or whenever.

I think it's someone from R* North, and not the New York office. I think R* NY knows as much about V as we do - they only pass on the screenshots they are given by North via the newswire.

you're implying R* should play off the irony as a cool way to draw 'attention' and market GTA as better than rest and a reason it's a 'must buy' so to speak. understood, but I doubt it will be that day IMO, maybe the Tuesday before, MAYBE, but I'm leaning toward October. your reason 1, understandable. your reason 2, GTA isn't THAT special . but the rest, i doubt it. no hard feelings (except number 4, very understandable)

I think this is interesting. Hinting towards sharing more things (truth form), release the game (manifest generosity), and make money (we become rich).

Of course it's that special.. if it's one franchise that could release on its own day its GTA.. and since Elder Scrolls have already done it It's not that far fetched of an idea. Perhaps that's why they haven't released a release date yet.. they don't want to claim that specific date only to have to delay it onto a completely random day.

The co-writers of GTA IV (and Max Payne 3) are Dan Houser, Michael Unsworth, Rupert Humphries, and Lazlow. (Other co-writers who worked on Red Dead Redemption or GTA San Andreas are no longer with Rockstar.)

 

The Twitter is likely run by one of them. It's creative, it has to be in a character voice, and it has to fit the GTA universe. I don't think that gets delegated to an intern.

A possible movie release, a concert or club event, Kwanzaa/Haunaka, actual scared people too scared to leave their homes, etc, and honestly, though GTA can stop game-industry time, it can't stop 'world' time like say aa Michael Jackson album or (somehow) a Lady GaGa concert. So maybe to us, including me, it might be THAT special but to the rest of the world, meh.

If it's "meh" to the rest of the world I doubt they'd buy it regardless of date.

GTA is something every gamer knows about.In romania,for example,if you haven't played GTA you've been born for nothing (aka you're a useless pile of sh*t).

 

GTA can compete with anything and personally I'd rather buy GTA then ruin my christmas with a Gaga concert.It's the perfect gift for any holiday(next to a Lambo Aventador or a Ferrari 458 Italia).
