Guys, I have serious dilemma.

I'm kind of hungry, but I'm kind of sleepy too. I'm actually too sleepy to get some food. I'd like to go to sleep now, but I'm afraid I won't be able to fall asleep because I'm kind of hungry. And even if I manage to fall asleep I might wake up in the middle of the night because I'm hungry. Or I might start sleepwalking and got hit by a truck or wallow in sh*t. If go get some food I may fall asleep doing it, which would be very bad for my back. So... what should I do?

Kill yourself, that should solve both.

I'd prefer if you killed me.

Sure. I'll come by some time.

How about I come by and kill both of you....

...in other words, stop derailing this thread DE4TH.

I'm derailing this thread?? ME? He's the one trying to be funny with that first post and obviously failing.

I agree. That's why I said it doesn't matter. I was just saying that you can market two products at once. Whether or not R* will do this, we don't know. But they appear to be if we go by the viral marketing so far. It just seems very illogical to keep promoting MP3 heavily until Oct and not to start marketing V soon; with MP3 out for 2 months already, going on 3.

No doubt R* has a marketing plan, we just have to wait and see to know what it is. confused.gif

The good news is that MP3 marketing appears to be slowing down. Yes, that's all we hear about on newswire but it's not hard to see why. MP3 is their latest game and release. Their only other game that they have coming up is V. Since they are not talking about V yet, it's just MP3. MP3 seems to be slowing down and through Epsilon it's possible the marketing for V is gearing up. Time will tell.

Isn't there an EpsilonismToday YouTube Channel?

I can see them doing something with that.

@DE4TH Oh, my bad. Didn't read his post. ph34r.gif

It's obviously also a possibility, just posting my insight of things. But if they make a post advertising Max Payne 3 next DLC for example tomorrow, and all the maps and stuff, what would they post then? Silence?

ya, they can always NOT post anything.

I do indeed remember. Which is why I am saying MP3 marketing appears to be slowing down. We've gone days without updates sometimes lately.

@InstantCClassic

Yes, there is. We don't know if it's 100% real tho because they haven't posted or done anything. It was created on the same day as the Twitter. So maybe a future area for some Epsilon related propaganda? If it is R*, I am interested in seeing what they will do with it.

EDIT: You know what tho, I think the fact that it was created on the same day as the Twitter and the fact that they haven't posted anything pretty much says it is real. If it was a fake, there'd be sh*t all over that channel by now.

Yeah, this youtube channel is 100% created by R* because it was created the same day as the twitter (July 9th).

No way any troll knew about the twitter then

They'll surely post videos there. Most likely videos about epsilon in GTA V engine

I've been thinking of something. So R* has launched their first DLC today and the EpsilonismToday tweets are getting more and more everyday, but they're always answering people now. The Crew Cut, which is usually on Fridays/weekends has been posted Tuesday. This leaves Friday free, and I wonder what news could they post if the DLC is already more than advertised.

Now you say: But they have another DLC this month! Right, they do, but first I expect it to be some map, clothes, whatever, and it's free, and the next DLC will be in September so I expect the release to be mid-August. Now where does this leave us? If Rockstar isn't gonna talk Max Payne 3 a lot more this month, or either with a CRAPLOAD OF LUCK we get GTA V news tomorrow, or more likely, we get GTA V news this month and before or after the DLC 2 has been released.

Might not make any sense but that's how I see it.

Just wondering has anyone ever been right about their theories on this forum. In terms of when we'll get gta info?

I would f*cking die if I had to wait 30 days looking at the countdown every day. It would feel like 5 years.

I'd much rather have a trailer all of sudden biggrin.gif

I just don't get it why they are so damn quiet about it. If the game is really in its final stage of development, you'd think they could share a bit of info. A few screenshots and a bit of info. If they still weren't close to finalisation it would be understandable that they don't show anything. It's also crazy how some people really firmly believe that its going to come out in October 2013, when R* said it themselves that its in its final stage of development. No way its gonna come out longer than a year later.

So when it's all said and done, and the bug checking/fixing and all that starts, how long does that process take most of the time? Any knowledge on that?

f*ck, at least we'd know when we were getting one. As it stands it could either be 30 more seconds or 5 more years.

I guess they simply are not ready yet to roll out the major marketing, if the game is in the final stages. If it isn't then...well that answers your question.

My guess is that even if they are done, they are just making sure that everything is the way they want it to be. They have a set date in mind and are just waiting for it. They don't just make up a marketing plan on the go and release stuff because they feel like it. They have these things planned out usually months in advance as part of an overall marketing strategy.

Everything may have been pushed back due to MP3's delay?

Epsilon account sure is active today.

It's like they are progressively upping the amount of tweets per day.

First there was 1 tweet every few days then 2 tweets daily, and now 3 tweets

They are tweeting more and more. Something bigger MUST come some time.

The question is how soon. How long will they play this boring game?

I think it might be to do with the higher number of followers, so they feel they have to post more. I hope something happens at 10,000 followers.

First playable

The first playable is the game version containing representative gameplay and assets,[134] this is the first version with functional major gameplay elements[135]. It is often based on the prototype created in pre-production.[136] Alpha and first playable are sometimes used to refer to a single milestone, however large projects require first playable before feature complete alpha.[135] First playable occurs 12 to 18 months before code release. It is sometimes referred to as the "Pre-Alpha" stage.[138]

[edit]Alpha

See also: Alpha release

Alpha is the stage when key gameplay functionality is implemented, and assets are partially finished.[138] A game in alpha is feature complete, that is, game is playable and contains all the major features.[139] These features may be further revised based on testing and feedback.[138] Additional small, new features may be added, similarly planned, but unimplemented features may be dropped.[139] Programmers focus mainly on finishing the codebase, rather than implementing additions.[137] Alpha occurs eight to ten months before code release.[138]

[edit]Code freeze

Code freeze is the stage when new code is no longer added to the game and only bugs are being corrected. Code freeze occurs three to four months before code release.[138]

[edit]Beta

See also: Beta release

Beta is feature and asset complete version of the game, when only bugs are being fixed.[137][138] This version contains no bugs that prevent the game from being shippable.[137] No changes are made to the game features, assets, or code. Beta occurs two to three months before code release.[138]

[edit]Code release

Code release is the stage when all bugs are fixed and game is ready to be shipped or submitted for console manufacturer review. This version is tested against QA test plan. First code release candidate is usually ready three to four weeks before code release.[138]

[edit]Gold master

See also: Release to manufacturing

Gold master is the final game's build that is used as a master for production of the game.[140]

[edit]Crunch time

Overtime is expected in the games industry.[141] Particularly, crunch time or crunch mode[142] is unpaid overtime requested by many companies to meet project deadlines and milestones[143] that negatively affects game developers[144]. A team missing a deadline risks the danger of having the project cancelled[145] or employees being laid off.[144] Although many companies are reducing the amount of crunch time,[141] it is still prominent in smaller companies[146].

Many companies offer time-off, called comp time or extra paid time-off after product ships to compensate for crunch time's negative effects. Some companies offer bonuses and financial rewards for successful milestone reach.[147] Sometimes on-site crunch meals are offered and delivered to the team during crunch time.[142]

The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) surveyed nearly 1,000 game developers in 2004 and produced a report to highlight the many problems caused by bad practice.[r 9]
