Adriaan
Updating from the last one in May... http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=510823&st=0 Everyone can breath sigh of relief, because T2 just gave their latest financial guidance with today's fiscal report: http://ir.take2games.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=8...0531&highlight= They are expecting $1.70 to $1.80 Billion in revenue for the financial year ending March 31st, 2013 or $1.75 to $2.00/share. The most profitable non-GTA release year for the company was with Red Dead, which was $1.16 Billion or $1.06/share. The only time they ever came close to these predicted numbers was the year GTAIV released ($1.5 billion), meaning, as most of you know already, GTAV MUST release by March 31st, 2013 to get to those high numbers of $1.8/billion by March 31, 2013. Officially, GTAV is still listed as To Be Announced release date wise. Don't read anything into the positioning of GTAV on their list of upcoming titles. Titles which have "TBA" release dates are always generally listed at the very end, after ones with actual dates. Side note: The latest guidance has been downgraded from their last estimate of $2.25/share or $1.8 billion, but is still in the margin whereby GTAV will very likely release before March 31, 2013. The downgrade in estimates most likely comes from the lower than expected revenues from Max Payne 3, as they have updated their previous guidance of their expected revenue split (60% R*/40% 2K), to 55% R*, and 45% 2K. From the web conference: "We've had a disappointing year last year, and a disappointing quarter this year" - Strauss Zelnick, CEO at T2. (highlighting the fact that Max Payne 3 did not meet expected sales, hence the downgrade. But this just highlights the fact they'd have to have a big epic release, e.g. GTAV, to meet their expected revenues) Q&A section: Question: "we've heard next to nothing on GTAV [...] what believability do we have that this game will come out this year!!??" (Mike Hickey) Zelnick (answering): "You know, Mike, we just haven't talked about a release date." Question: "Should we expect Agent in the pipeline within the next 12-18 months" (Arvind Bhatia) Zelnick (answering): "Yeah we just haven't announced anything yet". EDIT: I realized the last quote above might have caused some confusion. Zelnick did say "Yeah", but more like "Yeeaaaah.....". So the "Yeah" wasn't him affirming or answering a "yes" to the question. He did imply they just don't have anything to say about the game release wise, similar to with GTAV. Edited August 1, 2012 by Adriaan

GTAFANNFL01
Seems like good news, so we can hope that the release date now will be just a formality? a trailer maybe soon to follow? hopefully so...at least this solidifies a time frame
Spider-Vice
As expected, and in the list still before XCOM. Looks good, I'd say Rockstar will stop with Max Payne somewhere in October and from then start the full-fledged GTA V marketing. A trailer... maybe before October. Paper Mario
I hope so. Until then I have Halo 4 and Hitman Absolution to keep me busy.
theworldfamous
so I read.. but wouldn't they have to release a while before March to get that number by the end of it? That's a lot of day one sales. They themselves quote Borderlands 2, NBA and Bioshock as the reasons for the high projection... but seems doubtful to me. I don't even think the first Bioshock even sold that well. Gtaman_92
I hate to rain on everyones parade but R* has been real arrogant when it comes to max payne 3 so what if their projected revenue is from max payne 3 dlc? I know this sounds silly and Im not saying they would do that but with R* anything could happen.
Ice1980
Funny thing is GTA V is listed after BioShock Infinite I noticed that too, which mean with 100% certainty that GTA V is after BioShock which is February. But a month later GTA V would have to be relased otherwise it does not mke sense............
Adriaan
@Gtaman_92 I am very certain they cannot get to these high revenues with Max Payne 3 and its DLC combined. Already the game is way lower on Amazon's list than Red Dead Redemption (i.e. Red Dead is STILL selling better than Max Payne 3), which as you know, sold tremendously well in the year 2010 - the best non-GTA year, and didn't get close to these numbers. Andreas
Funny thing is GTA V is listed after BioShock Infinite That doesn't mean sh*t. It's listed after Bioshock Infinite because the release date is TBA. What? TakeTwo think that the DLCs of Max Payne 3 make much money? That's sadly laughable. MosquitoSmasher
How did this go with GTA IV and Max Payne 3? Ah f*ck.....both games received a expected release date quite fast after their announcements. But if it comes out before or by March.....how is that gonna be good for 2K's Bioshock Infinite? Gtaghost22
*puts adriaan on his respect list* that's good to hear for the 2nd time in a row, 2013 release is pretty much confirmed at this point. now let's hope the mods will lock that spamfest of a topic *sigh*
The__Phoenix
But Zelnick added that the company’s line-up of new games “is stronger than ever,” citing titles to be released such as “Borderlands: 2,” ”NBA 2K13,” and “BioShock Infinite.” It´s a joke, definitely no gta v in 2012. Surely an Xmas 2012 release would make more sense in order to achieve the projected profits etc by 31st March 2013 (my wedding anniversary BTW). That would allow 4-5 months advertising etc. Just a thought and all that.

NYC PATROL
I expect a info blowout this Fall (Ala GI Cover)....Release April/May 2013. There is no way in hell GTA V is a 2012 release. They say GTA V is making Substantial progress. If it was releasing this Fall we would have known the release date by now let's not be ##### stupid. Rockstar even said it themselves GTA V is a freaking massive undertaking, their biggest game to date. They are not rushing it. Just think in less than a year we will have it in our hands. T2 is just really really freaking confident in its other releases this Fiscal year.
