GTA III Ultimate Challenge

Recommended Posts

Someone should create a challenge like this one for San Andreas and Vice City.

There are topics on them in the San Andreas section and Vice City section too.

GTA SA Can you do it?

GTA VC Can you do it?

Thanks for those links Zoom, they're a good read. icon14.gif

I have completed this challenge around 4 or 5 times off camera, but for some reason whenever I try and record a successful attempt, I get screwed over by the game (mainly terrible tank spawns). It's giving me a stomach ulcer. cryani.gif

Prime examples.

FINALLY after months of trying to record a successful run of this challenge, I am victorious.

I guess I'll do it as soon as I find another Joypad for my PS2, along with my GTA III Speed Run.

One question I have: Can I increase my Wanted Level by simply entering a 'Wanted Level' cheat?

Arsen, I think you can't do this, since by getting wanted level by yourself, you can be killed, so that's making this contest more advanced.

Personally for me, getting killed without leaving the area of Shoreside Vale hideout is quite unlikely, the reason is it being a good location to defend yourself, provided you can use the environment to your aid. Plus, it will be even more unlikely if I use a 100% save file, or at least one where all Hidden Packages have been collected and Paramedic completed - you damn well know why.

So I could have as well saved some time this way. But it won't be a problem if I'm not clear to do so. I was just asking.

Is the music in the beginning CoDMW2 Sountrack - The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend? colgate.gif

Good work icon14.gif, I will record mine when I get a new processor, I did the challenge like five times, Infernus FTW.

Thanks Arsen, but you are correct in saying that I am only skilled on the PC since I haven't used a PS2 to play any Grand Theft Auto game in about 3-4 years. Plus, I am terrible with controllers due to my frequent use of the keyboard and mouse. By the way, how do you find this challenge? I'd like to hear your opinion on it.

Going old school on these runs, it's ironic that it is GTA's 15th birthday as well. biggrin.gif

Finally, took time to watch it. Didn't have much of it before...

Well, what can I say? Keep rocking hard! You are magnificent!

Anyone patience enough to do this challenge on a mobile phone? Now THAT would have been epic...

Or I'll wait until some Japanese no-life does it, no big deal.

That is right up there with doing this in the top-down view or in cinematic mode. I can't imagine anyone doing that. wow.gif

It would be awesome if somebody attempted and completed this on the iOS version.

I completed it on the iPad a few months back without filming. Really wish I had now.

Had a go on my iPhone 4 as well and failed at the tank part. The lag and cluttered controls made it almost impossible.

So I recently installed the Real GTA 3 mod and decided to attempt the UC with it. It not only modifies a lot of textures and car models, it also changes the handling of most if not all of the vehicles in-game and changes the weapon statistics (the shotgun is held with one hand, you can now run with it and it has 7 shots before pumping, etc.). The challenge is significantly easier in some parts (driving to and from the hideout in Witchita Gardens to be specific) but slightly harder in others (some cars have completly dreadful handling i.e. the Murciealago has terrible turning and bounces as if the suspension was made out of springs).

Anyway, here's me doing the challenge. It was a pretty good run (if I do say so myself) and had some close calls as well.

this is a hella necro but you'll have to forgive me, i figured it'd be better to bump this dusty ass thread instead of making a new one, if that isn't better then my bad, if you don't know what the ultimate challenge is check the first post

So after getting back into the Chain Game I figured I might as well give the ol Ultimate Challenge a couple swings and managed to get it done only after about two handfuls worth of attempts. I had a video back in the day as you can see in the old posts that I've since lost in the archives fire of 2019. Anyway, here's the vid.

I'm curious to see others attempt this and see what differences lie in the routing and general strats used to succeed from those willing to attempt.

The tension is palpable in this video. The fact you picked an Infernus for your trip back to SSV scared me, it's definitely one of the least predictable fast cars in my opinion, especially on uneven ground, but you nailed it. I can appreciate you cutting your losses heading up to the airport too. Bloody epic video!

I might have a crack at this when I have some time. Gotta brush up on my Dodo flying though..

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. The main reason behind the Infernus pick for the SSV trip is because it's considerably more stable than a Banshee or Cheetah, and hitting the shortcut jump is easier to land with it compared to the other sports cars. Notice how I was able to land and keep going straight up the hill to the safehouse, whereas if I was in say a Cheetah or Banshee they would most likely flip or spin out on landing which would most likely lead to an unfortunate Tank or Barracks OL spawn That and I like the top speed it provides which allows me to outrun the Barracks' cause they can catch up to you if you have a slower vehicle.

What a sick challange. I've already had 4 cardiac arrests just watching your ride with the Infernus. Especially at the point 7:05. Crasy 🤯

'Preciate it, I really did take a lot of unnecessary risks in this run but in the end it made for a crazy video. I'll be uploading all my failed (7) attempts soon.
