R* Creation Kit Possible

So last week I made a thread about the unlimited modding potential we'd have if R* were to give us a SDK. (I mod Skyrim so I personally prefer to call it a Creation Kit) After writing the thread I figured I'd write to R* to see what they thought of this idea and they just so happened to write me back today. No, they didn't come out and say they were going to make one but at-least they seemed interested enough to say that they would possibly include my question in the next ask and answered.

I'm waiting for the day that R* put a 3d modeller and script editor in the game for consoles.

then be uploaded to a server and everybody who joins me will see my mods.

host can choose if mods are allowed or not so that'd solve some problems.

Why is modding bullsh*t? You understand that dlc is essentially a mod right?

This is exactly what was first on my mind after reading the OP. Though I would probably make use of the SDK if it were released as I have with most Bethesda games

Without modders, GTA SA multiplayer (MTA and SA:MP) wouldnt be there and nobody would be playing gta sa anymore. The modders did a better job than R* with the GTA IV multiplayer IMO.

I would love a Creation Kit à la Skyrim. GTA has had a solid modding community, but it's hard to create something or to get other people's stuff working without conflicting. Corporate types might not understand but a Creation Kit is worth a thousand weapon, clothing, vehicle DLC. There's a reason why III, VC, SA and IV are still actively played years later. Make mods easy to make and install and you've got a PC version that for once doesn't sell like crap.

There is a diffrence betweent cheaters and modders.

Cheaters are just people who download programs to f*ck games up. Modders make content for a game.

This video is from a MTA server where i play on from time to time (mr green).

GTA IV official multiplayer is so boring compared to that.

And for trainers or hacks, thats why i love xliveless.

You cant f*ck other peoples game up. And still have fun with a trainer in singleplayer.

Please if you dont know what youre talking about, dont talk about it.

Dude, the ones you're talking about are those childish multiplayer hackers. The OP is talking about PC modding community where in the game is modified for editing or adding new features to the game in a constructive manner for better enjoyment of everyone and not damaging others' experience.

Multiplayers made by modders are simply one big free mode with some custom race tracks etc, there is no competition in there, for me there is no big difference betwen modders and cheaters becouse the same persons releases tools for modding or mods and blows me up with god mode in multiplayer matches. Also cheaters calls themselfs modders, I know there is a slight different betwen both but it is as long as modders stay in singleplayer and dont come to competitive multiplayer. btw you can have all that and even more in GTA IV multiplayer if you know right modders

Funny thing rite? That San andreas didnt even have multiplayer. Thats why i was saying if it wasnt for modders, nobody would be playing SA anymore.

And im sure you didnt pick the right server if at all you played it. It is a very nice experience.

I never played SAMP as I dont like mods and in times when I had this game I hadnt internet connection yet but I saw some videos on YT and I know its just a mod, there is no leaderboards or scoreboards there and even if there are it means nothing

You're blindly disagreeing with them without taking into account the facts.

They say "there's a difference between a modder and a cheater" and they give legitimate reasons to back up their argument. In response you say "i don't like mods because cheaters call them self's modders" and "i don't like samp because i've never played it and it's just a mod so that means it's nothing special" without even drawing a distinction between modders who create entirely new games/features, and the idiots who annoy you off in Multiplayer.

If R* made it so that mods could only be used offline then there would be no issues. I'm not out to ruin the game for anyone. All I want is an official tool to help make content for me and the community to enjoy offline.

Yet again people don't draw a distinction between a modder and a cheater..

A modder is someone who mods the game for creative and entertainment purposes because that's what they enjoy, a multiplayer-cheater is someone who mods the game to win matches and annoy other people, because that's what they enjoy.

Thats not what I said and I didnt disagree. For me its totaly enough what R* puts in game and I dont need any mods to have fun. I like to play games like it was released by creators without any mods

Spot on!

Although people tend to cross the two because modding can be used to cheat, but still not the same!

I realize the difference and I know it would be cool to have modded content playable online but only in a private lobby. Modders and cheaters are different but one must realize anything can be took advantage of. If R* could single out certain mods and only allow car mods, house mods, and other etc mods that don't effect gameplay in negative aspects then by all means id love for all of us to enjoy it online together.

On MTA you have servers, some servers are better scripted then the others. I find MR Green Race the best server. It has its own currency, toptimes, custom maps, and it is never empty. I dont see that sh*t happening in IV multiplayer. Thats why i think this kind of modding is the best that ever happened to that game.

If R* really made a creation kit, then the files it generated should be placed in somewhere like My Document/Rockstar Games/GTA V/Mods , will only be loaded in singleplayer mode.

i am going to lose it if i see another person refer modders to being cheatings

modding and cheating is TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS

modding means making the game fun adding fun things too it for example this is a fun mod

notice how this is in SINGLEPLAYER where i am hurting NOONE

modding and cheating is like comparing criminals to lawn enforcement their jobs may be sortof similar but they are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

modding means having fun even online with other friends who uses mods perhaps flying around in a car with your friends spawn a loop and drive through it make a car size blender out of a helicopter

cheating is only meant to RUIN IT for everyone else this involves using aimbots to kill people spawning tugs so much the server crashes spawning a annihilator and keep killing people who don't know whats going on

modding and cheating is NOTHING alike i wish that SOME DAY people will get it

as it makes me sad seeing people refering modders to being cheaters

Yes dude, the point is modders have to decide will they stay in singleplayer and have fun alone with their mods or go to multiplayer and affect other peoples gameplay with their mods, no one can stop the from doing it, of course you have separated servers for modders where modding is allowed but many modders know how to go around it and use their mods in unmodded servers. Hopefully in GTA V there will be banning system for them and better anti-cheats updates. Why Im against modding is becouse all modders I meet wants to blow me up with god mode or crash my server with Tug boats.

And those are the same people which are "making the game fun adding fun things too it", often I see someone who upload mods which has many downloads and good opinions cheating in multiplayer...
