ccrogers15
I hated the PS2 version of bully. But i liked scholorship edition. The engine of the original version sucked and was dated. Also i hated the story but it did have some funny moments like when you had to kiss that huge fat chick.

BullworthAcademy
A Max Payne game not written by Sam Lake and co may as well not be a Max Payne game at all, because that was the entire beauty of it. And if you respond to that with "t-t-take off your nostalgia goggles bro!!!" then you immediately lose any validity in your comment. Having just recently completed both of the Alan Wake games Both? American Nightmare isn't a sequel. It's just downloadable content. Edited August 3, 2012 by theomenofficial
Master of San Andreas
I Dont Think R* ever made a bad game but looking at Manhunt 2 it looks lazy, boring and blank game by rockstar as if not much effort was put in it! Dont Tell Red Dead Revolver is a bad game without that we would not have had Red Dead Redemption..... loved Max Payne 2 not played it but dont see why 3 should not be better! agreed? Remix
I hated the PS2 version of bully. But i liked scholorship edition. The engine of the original version sucked and was dated. Wasn't it on the exact same engine? The only difference between the two games were slight graphical improvements and a few added missions. Besides that, the game was almost identical, right? I played both and really could tell no difference whatsoever, so it's strange that they're on completely different engines.
DonkeyEatingCheese
I played VCS and LCS but didn't like them so I gave them to my friend. Also there is one R* game that I think every R* fan likes but I am the one who doesn't like it. Its GTA III. I got for PS2 but thought it was boring, I mean who would like GTA III after playing GTA VC and GTA SA.

AceRay
Its GTA III. I got for PS2 but thought it was boring, I mean who would like GTA III after playing GTA VC and GTA SA. You wouldn't be saying that in 2001. It looks sh*t now but back then it was revolutionary. Pretty much no non linear games would exist without GTA3. It is the most influential game of the 00s, so while VC and SA may be better games, they weren't as revolutionary as III.

Of course playing GTA III after VC and SA leaves a lot to be desired for IMO, but back then it was a once in a life time experience. I mean how many people thought it was boring in 2001? Chances are most people became GTA fans because of GTA III. I grew up with the top down GTAs, but that very moment where I controlled Claude for the first time and saw "Give Me Liberty" basically set the tone for the last 11 years. A lot of great games owe GTA III for the path it forged. To me no one should call them selves a real GTA fan if they weren't impressed by GTA III when it rocked the gaming world in 2001. BlackLightning
Yes, Max Payne 3 is quite bad. Btw, what path did GTA 3 forge? You mean the path that Driver 1 and 2 forged years before? I don't know why everyone forgets that Driver did it first.

I don't know why everyone forgets that Driver did it first. While Driver 1 was one of the first games with a big open world, which was breakthrough, it didn't allow you to get out of your car and it was pretty basic. You could get out of your car in Driver 2 but it was basically just a tool for getting into another car. You couldn't do anything. GTA3 was the first to offer duel gameplay. Driver did what first? driving? because that's the only thing that game had, Rockstar added a living city made of more than just blocks, and it had more features than all Driver games put together. The only Driver that came close to a gta game was Parallel Lines (in terms of quality and features), which was released almost six years later from gta III. While of course sandbox games existed before GTA III and even the top down GTAs it's simply a fact GTA III revolutionized the genre. As AceRay said in Driver you can't even get out the car and while you can in Driver 2 like he said it serves as nothing more than a way of changing cars. On the contrary I don't consider the first two sandbox games. Driv3r was the first Driver to really take a look at the GTA formula. The only thing Driver was ahead of at the time was a full 3D environment. IMO the original GTA is much more of a sandbox game than Driver will ever be. If anything Driver is the pioneer for open world driving games such as NFS Underground and Test Drive Unlmited. Exkabewbikadid
One could also argue that the only thing GTA 1 and 2 were lacking were 3D graphics. Technically, GTA 2 wasn't far off from being the first 3D game in the series since it used 3D models, but kept the top down view. There was once a project attempting to convert 2 to 3D, but I don't know what happened to it. Anyways, there's no way anyone could justifiably argue that III was a bad game. Not only did it merge driving and third person action, it introduced one of the most accessible game worlds ever at the time.

Eagles
For the people telling that Max Payne 3 is a bad game, you could at least cite a reason. In my opinion, only two reasons exists for people who think like this: either the series has lost the MP1 and MP2 'noire' feeling or it delayed the release date announcement and more information about GTA V - if that really happened. I can't see a reason for calling Max Payne 3 a bad game. If it had another name and had been developed by another company, people would be probably claiming MP3 as the game of the year. Objectively, MP3 is fine game, the control is one of the best, with the shoot dodge and weapon use. Its just that some people don't think the story is the bee's knees and that's cool, I can see where most of it comes from. I still liked it.
