trip
I'm not about to unpack the boxes and take a bunch of pictures so here is a shot of one of my boxes.  I have a near complete collection of First Editions from the mid 90s though to 98. Los Santos Pedestrian
I used to have a sh*tload of Hot Wheels when I was a youngster, and a complete town set that you could build and take apart. That was more than five years ago, and I'm pretty sure the majority of the cars and the other sets (including the town one) have been sold. Â That's what I hate about growing up; I like a certain toy, then I don't play with it, then I get all nostalgic and want to use them again once I don't have it. Outcast
to be honest i never saw the appeal of hot wheels except for those massive track-sets they had with the loops and all that. those were pretty crazy
trip
Yeah, I never had enough track pieces.  I have my carded collection because I used have something of a connection to Mattel. Long story, but I used to have friends on the inside until their [unconnected] legal team decided they wanted to sue me.    I wish I would have known to keep some of the ones I had as a youngster. I still remember some of the classics like 'the poison Pinto' from the ones I had. Lurch
I was never into keeping them packaged due to the whole zany track thing. But I had some very cool ones. A chaparral 2C, a Jag D-Type, a Charger Daytona. Had a huge collection of Ferraris and various muscle cars. Even at a young age, I was very much into the ones that were real cars and not made up. trip
Even at a young age, I was very much into the ones that were real cars and not made up. Those are the ones that seem to bring the collector money in these days. I have a couple of Porsches in my collection that sell for OK dollars right now.  Man, this thread has me wanting to check out my cars. It has been years since I went through them against a price guide. trip
Damn dude, that is a serious collection.  You say they are you mom's(well, the bulk of the really collectible ones)? I'm no expert(for sure) but if those are originals and not re-releases, I'm guessing they are worth some serious cash. Any of those old advertising ones are the key. Sup3rman
I have some Hotwheels models too, but nothing special really...never really collected them, but as a child i did wanted to own all of those little machines and tracks and everything. Problem was money. Nowadays i don't know where all of those 1:84th scale models are, but i did collect 1:43 size models. Even a year ago i bought some. Those are quite expensive and very detailed, and the bodyshape is 100% correct. Handmade also.

Guest
ERMAGHERD HAWTWHELZ!  I used to have sh*tloads of hot wheels models when I was a kid. They're in some huge-ass plastic bag at my granddad's place.  Damn I remember the old days with some weird track I had. I always saw the adverts for the ones with the loops and though 'awww I want that' but I never got one  I always used to line them up on one of these bad boys  Then do some hardcore street racing with slow-mo drifting and cinematic action crashes. Sh*t just got real when you step into my turf onto my city play mat

Soon, I'm gonna make shelves to put them all on my wall.

SuperVeloce
Got a fair collection, I've recently (well, over the past 5/6 years) been buying them and keeping in their boxes to collect them, they're all under my bed somewhere. Today I picked up a Hotwheels F12 Berlinetta and 458 Spider!
Master of San Andreas
I used to own Hot Wheels a long really long time ago and they were a very old and outdated set.I had the tracks and some small cars and used to have loads of fun when I was a kid. They slowly got lost however. So sadly I don't have anything now and don't have interest now in them anyway. trip
I recently priced all of my Hotwheels and I'm going to be selling them off any day now. Everything I have is mint on cards from the 90s. I was shocked and amazing at some of the going rates. My low end ones are getting over $5 and some of my high end ones are in the $30-$60 range. Almost all of my collection are from limited runs.  Here is my story that made me price my collection: I picked this up at my supermarket the other week. Before I bought it I checked the date stamp on the bottom. It had been hanging in my supermarket in perfect shape for over 10yrs. I didn't really care - I just picked it up on a whim. Currently going for upwards of $30. GoldenBlade
I actually have a rare 1998 MGF 1.8i Coke Matchbox Collectibles car, and a 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C from the TV show My Classic Car with Dennis Gage.
Moth
Â I used to collect them like crazy, but got into matchbox cars, they had some nice cars. I always found Matchbox to be the inferior brand. At least from the mid nineties and up. A lot of off road stuff, and any road cars they did, had boring paint jobs. When I was growing up, didn't really buy many of them, but I did buy a hundreds of hot wheels. Still have them in the basement, opened and damage due to use. Now I restarted buying them, and keeping them in the blister packs. Mostly American muscle, though I do buy cars to peak my interest. Â trip, you going to give us a link to where you are selling them? I might pick some up. Formerly known as The General
