fridaynightscream
The teaser was shown at Comic Con. Here is a trailer description from Cinema Blend. Here's how it went down, according to our own Eric Eisenberg who was on the scene. It started with footage of a destroyed city, and voiceover talking about the Hindu proverb about Vishnu taking on his multi-armed form (you know, this guy). The voice-over specifically quotes Vishnu saying "'Now I have become death, the destroyer of worlds." From there we hear the iconic Godzilla scream, and it leads to a shot of Godzilla stomping through a cloud of dust. You see the spiked back, you hear the familiar thudding storms, and then the camera pans up the monster's face-- where, of course, it screams again. Sounds really scary. Awesome. El Dildo
I won't lie. Godzilla movies - like every other monster / disaster movie ever made - are (and always have been) campy at best. they're usually terrible, and I'm sure this one won't be any different I'm sure there will be some cool special effects and the CGI destruction of New York or some other big city. but these gimmicks are dime-a-dozen nowadays. short of having my girlfriend drag me along, I can't see myself willingly pay money to watch a Godzilla movie in the theater. RARusk
I've been a Gojira fan for over thirty years and I will definitely see this day one. Especially since this remake appears to follow the original form more closely than the previous American attempt. I hope they put this teaser up online in the near future. Otter
Here's a still that some dude... made a move of? Whatever. Looks pretty rad! I'm stoked. Would love a film that tried to go for the roots of the mythos rather than another Puffy Daddy/Broderick reunion. Man, that movie was so bad. Laura91
Only the original 1954 version is worth watching. All of the remakes suck.
Vega LVI
Usually all remakes are not worth watching. For the most part, all of the Godzilla and King Kong movies within the past two-three decades have been boring and action less. These films are too based on scientists, or whoever, trying to figure out the monster's origins and when they might strike. That's all good, but all of that needs to be trimmed into a short introduction and get on with the f*cking action. Godzilla is a 90-foot mutant dinosaur so I want to see him crushing and tearing down cities with his strength and shattered ears and the sound barrier with his screech, while trying to fight off armed tanks and helicopters and such. Besides the original Godzilla and a few movies before the 80s (roughly), the only "good" Godzilla movie has been Godzilla 2000: The Millennium. fridaynightscream
The movie is filming right now and looks to be doing some throw backs to the original movie: The movie hits theaters in IMAX 3D as well on May 16th, 2014, a little less than a year away until the king of the monsters returns
NCONiall
^Isn't that around when the next Jurassic Park film releases? Two famous monster franchises coming in one year - a bit of competition there; that is of course, unless JP gets delayed - again. I personally love these type of movies so I probably will end up watching it regardless of the initial reviews. It seems pretty good, well, it seems. Jonesizzle
Jurassic Park 4 has been delayed since you mentioned it. I can't wait for this. I was 10 or 11 when the most recent US Godzilla released, and I enjoyed it. It wasn't great, but after watching it again, I still enjoyed it. They just made Godzilla ugly as f*ck, and the baby godzilla's was just over the top for me. I hope they do justice for this movie, with the people who are involved with it, we shouldn't be disappointed. I hope instead of just causing mayhem and having the US Military fail miserably at taking the king of monsters down, we see some type of Villain to Godzilla this time around. fridaynightscream
The movie is to have a panel at San Diego Comic Con 2013 on July 20th, and this was spotted 4 blocks away from where Comic Con is. It has the Legendary Pictures logo so it has something to do with one of their movies. Some people think it's our first look at Godzilla, some people think its a claw mark, and although that big red spot looks like an eyeball, I have no idea what it could be. Kiffster
I like monster movies, so I'm looking forward to this one. I also really want to see a Cloverfield sequel. One thing I absolutely hate about monster movies is the lack of gore. They usually make them kid-friendly, and I don't like that. I WANT GORE!! fridaynightscream
New leaked image from "The Godzilla Experience" He looks very cool so far! Can't wait for a full reveal! We can tell that he looks like his classic Japanese design and not GINO from 1998.
Sup3rman
Well the classic Godzilla design came pretty much out with that new awesome poster. I like those redish eyes. One evil bastard i hope...can't wait for a trailer.
NYC PATROL
I'm probably one of the "VERY" few but I actually really enjoyed the 1998 Godzilla. And had always hoped there would be a sequel to it because of how it ended. But it should be nice to see another fresh take on things.

GunWrath
Legendary pumps out some great movies.. action-wise, so this may not be a screenplay oscar worthy deal but I'm sure it'll be on the edge of your seat action. I'll watch it.. bring it on.

Creed Bratton
I hope they won't set the movie in New York. I am sick and tired of seeing New York decimated in every disaster and monster movie. It's boring. There are other cities. How about San Francisco? He can emerge from the water in the middle of a fog, sink a few ships and eat the Golden Gate bridge. Maybe he's got hypoferremia. Las Vegas would also be a fun place to destroy. Sure it's not a very vertical city, but imagine Godzilla smashing casinos and seeing all those stupid gamblers disregarding their own safety by trying to get as much money as they can only to be stomped by a giant dinosaur. Kiffster
^ I somewhat agree, but I don't really have a problem with New York being attacked. But it would be cool if the movie is set somewhere else. I always wonder why the US and not Europe or even Asia. Like the "birthplace" of Godzilla, Japan
Sup3rman
Tokyo would be best IMO. Ofc, as you see the size of Godzilla on the poster, i don't think travelling across the states would be a problem for it.
Moth
I'm probably one of the "VERY" few but I actually really enjoyed the 1998 Godzilla. And had always hoped there would be a sequel to it because of how it ended. But it should be nice to see another fresh take on things. There was a sequel of sorts. There was the cartoon series that followed what happened after the movie. It pretty much made Godzilla Jr a lot more like the original one, plus every week there would a new monster for him to fight. It was a lot better than the sh*tastic movie. So anyways, I'm excited for the movie, but I'm also leery of it as well. I'm afraid of it becoming another Godzilla (1998) in which it stars Zilla instead of the real Godzilla. Sure the Godzilla in this movie looks more like the original, but if they make him weaker than he is suppose to be and gets killed, I'm going to be pretty disappointed. Humans aren't suppose to kill Godzilla! Formerly known as The General

You're in luck. San Francisco is being used as one of the back drops for destruction. Though I believe they filmed in British Columbia. As with most big budget movies these days they don't really shot much on-location for a lot of stuff, if at all. fridaynightscream
Godzilla is smaller than he looks in the poster. Everyone thinks that he is in the clouds. That is impossible, he tail is pretty much near his "butt" I guess you could say, near his bottom. There is no way his tail is that high up on him to be in the clouds. What we think is clouds is really just random mist, Godzilla is going to be his average size, but still huge.
