Looks interesting, if a tad low brow. I'm a big fan of the character though and hope this can be a big success.

I saw it earlier and laughed my ass off. It does look pretty awesome and Deadpool breaking the 4th wall in a game should be hilarious.

This. The game looks good, but until we see a lot of game play, I am going to have my doubts.

Aslong as it's not a movie tie-in it may be good.

Is that one of his traits? Breaking the fourth wall?

Was he always talking to the reader in the comics???

Yeah, he breaks the fourth wall a lot. He's like the Ferris Bueller (or John Cusack) of super heroes.

I think as long as there is a steady stream of Rogue in a bikini, I'll be happy.

Love me some Deadpool, will be interesting to see if they go the same route as The Amazing Spiderman or something completely different.

Excuse the bump, but I've been off the Internet for weeks and upon hearing this I have to bump it.

FREAKIN DEADPOOL! He's my most favorite comic book character of all time! Huge fan of him. As long as they get his insane persona character right, I'm definitely buying this. Here's hoping Nolan North is voicing him.

Pretty stoked about this.

Best promo for a game EVER

I. f*cking. Love. Deadpool.

Have they released any real gameplay previews yet so far? Would love to see how they combined the shooting mechanics and melee gameplay.

http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles...a-mature-rating

The Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) has officially given a rating to the upcoming Deapool video game and it is none other than 'Mature.' Their listed reasons for said rating are: "Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Sexual Content, Strong Language."

They also detailed why it received this rating:

Battles are frenetic and accompanied by screams of pain, gunfire, and large blood-splatter effects.

Some attacks result in dismemberment or decapitations; body parts and bloodstains can be seen on the ground.

Players can also employ stealth attacks, in which close-up camera angles depict more severe damage against enemies.

Throughout the game, the protagonist provides irreverent commentary and jokes amidst the exaggerated acts of violence (e.g., “No guts no glory” when hanging from his entrails; “Oh that's gonna leave a mark” when dismembering an enemy; “That's because you have more comics than me” when repeatedly beating a character on the ground).

The dialogue also contains mature humor, sexual material and innuendo

Other instances of mature humor include an extended toilet scene and the pumping up of an inflatable doll.

So it sounds exactly like the Deadpool video game that fans want. The ESRB also revealed a quick description of the game, hinting at what the game's story consists of:

"This is an action-adventure game based on characters from the Deadpool comic book franchise. Players assume the role of Deadpool, a mercenary on a mission to hunt down and capture an evil millionaire. As players traverse enemy strongholds, they use an assortment of melee weapons (swords, sais, giant hammers) and firearms (pistols, machine guns, shotguns) to kill human soldiers and mutant enemies."

In the upcoming third-person shooter, you play as Deadpool in an all new adventure written by long time "Deadpool" scribe Daniel Way.

Deadpool will be available later this year for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Sweet that's nice to hear. I really hope the gore is something like the Wolverine game. That was a fantastic gory game.

It's being described as a third-person shooter? I can see this being a mix of Saints Row and Devil May Cry. Wacky and stylish at the same time. This is the only game I'm looking forward to this year to be honest.

Alright I'm saying it, I more excited for this than any other game coming out this year.

Am I giving myself a huge amount of hype for this game? Probably so. Please do not f*ck this up, the sheer amount of disappointment... ugh I can't even bear the thought of the pain.

Noooooooooooo

Deadpool is scheduled to come out sometime this summer, and development is winding down at High Moon Studios. Unfortunately for 40 full-time members of the dev team, that not only meant an end to their work on the game, but a pink slip as well.

Activision has acknowledges layoffs at the studio. "With the completion of development on Deadpool, we are taking a reduction in staff at High Moon Studios to better align our development talent against our slate," the company said in a statement to Joystiq. "Approximately, 40 full-time employees will be impacted globally. We are offering those employees who are impacted outplacement counseling services."

The company said that decisions such as these are an "ongoing process" to "align its costs with its revenues." While its normal for some cuts to be made after a game finishes production, Shacknews hopes those affected find employment again soon.
