Although it is unlikely since it was in the middle of the desert between fierro and venturas. I have a slight feeling area 69 will be there after seeing the desert in the trailer. ThisIsHorosho Posted July 14, 2012 Share Posted July 14, 2012 i don't think there will be desereted landscape at all, people are hyping themselves up with these hopes, but in the end of the day they will be very disappointed and since there won't be any deserted area than its more then likely there also won't be fictional "Area-51"...and besides in a such realistic environment i don't think it would work... Probably not, but there are plenty of other military bases within the area. The jet in Trailer 1 certainly points to the credibility of there being one. Like it was mentioned, Area 51 is in Nevada, north of Las Vegas. As such we will not see it if the setting is confined to coastal Southern California, which is what we're getting from the look of it. I imagine it will be nothing like in San An, maybe it will be completely obscured or inaccessable. I was pointing out the point I made that you obviously missed. Let me dumb it down for you. With what Rockstar is aiming for, why should they place a Nevada/Las Venturas landmark in Los Santos? It doesn't belong there, they try to be accurate when they recreate a city. It may not be street for street, but it's heavily based on the actual city. A good country side is the only thing required. And who knows that whether the military have moved on to Los Santos country side from the desert, huh. (LOL only). And they ARE having a country side like lzw3 said and there is a probability that we WILL see some restricted area in it. The main reason being that they are reimagining Southern California; not Nevada. I'd have thought they'd save Area 51 (69) until another GTA featuring Las Venturas. I don't think Area 69 was in LV it is situated in the heart of Bone County and South of Verdant Meadows and the the WEST of Las Venturas not IN Las Venturas and east of El Castillo Diablo and direct north of Green Palms. As i said earlier the Old Mansion in IV (which references the downfall of the Leone family) is situated in the third island whereas the actual Salvatore's Gentlemen's club is situated on Portland, the first island. You haven't seen any topics about it? You must be new here. There won't be Area 51 because that's in Nevada. However there most probably WILL be a military base in the game. Nevada is an entirely different state to California. GTA V is set in California. Rockstar wouldn't put Area 69 in V because they strive to have an accurate representation of the city they're depicting, as others have said. Rockstar themselves have said that this is what they do now: In the same way that Liberty City in the original Grand Theft Auto is different from the version seen in GTA3, the advances in hardware that preceded Grand Theft Auto IV’s release opened up so many more opportunities to build out and re-invent the game world from what we were able to do in previous games. Liberty City in GTA3 is loosely based on a series of East Coast and mid-western cities – New York, Philly, Detroit, Baltimore etc – but without being any one in particular. With Vice City we began experimenting with cities that were more direct spoofs or impersonations of places. For GTAIV’s Liberty City, we really wanted to make a high definition, incredibly detailed digital impression of New York (but still given the Rockstar ‘twist’), as this was something we had not done before and we felt was interesting. --- Also that mansion is obviously not a Leone reference, it's just a dilapidated old mansion - there are plenty of those in New Jersey.
