Mamunda
This 1000 testers thing is not true. It would be overkill even for GTA game! And they would have to pay them sh*tload of cash.
73duster
They wouldn't hire a thousand testers otherwise. Didnt know that. Is this for sure? Google finds many sites saying the same thing... Testers hired by Rockstar North for GTA in January 2012 Yup, it's true. Pretty much throws every "The game isn't done yet" argument out the window But if they were hired in January, then how do we know they weren't hired for MP3 (released in May)? They were hired for exactly one year. That don't mean that they're hired for 4 months and then they don't do anything for the next 8 months. Rockstar said that gTA V is their next game after Max Payne 3. So they worked a bit on Max Payne 3 and now on GTA V. Btw 1000 beta-tester for an linear game? N-E-V-E-R. Where is it stated "1000 testers"? R* said it Source please? http://ayu-cyber.info/2012/03/a-job-worth-...e-new-gta-game/ It's at the bottom I'm sorry but this site is weird and it's not a reputable source It's a site where beta testers go to find where to get jobs. How is it not a reputable source? I'll try and find another one though I've searched and the only numbers I came up with are £14,000 for 12 months. The 1,000 on that page is mentioned as an "Incoming search term" that led to that article, which itself makes no mention of how many testers. I believe it is unknown to the public how many testers GTA:V has. I will agree with you that the testers were likely not for GTA, as Max Payne 3 was done by R* Vancouver and Red Dead Redemption was done by R* San Diego. It would make sense for the people hired in Scotland to be working with the developer who is based in Scotland. I know I read somewhere that they were hiring 1000 testers, but I cannot find it again to save my life. I've spent like 20 minutes looking. However, GTA 5 is being made by R* North, and they're the ones hiring. And even then, you don't need much testers, or get paid that much, to test for MP3, so it indicates GTA 5. Edit: Yes, they were hired for 12 months. This probably means they were testing GTA 5 and MP3. It doesn't really change anything though. They wouldn't work for 12 months for MP3 It also means, that a release in 2012 won't happen.. I mean.. why would they need to test a game that is already released? I don't understand what you're trying to say... I mean.. if they were hired in January 2012 for 1 year, that means till January 2013, to test GTA V, So before that the game won't be released Well, R* doesn't know how long GTA testing will take. It could be 3 months, it could be a year. Making the job a year is just going on the safe side, and I'm sure if they're done with GTA, they can also test other R* stuff, such as MP3 DLC. It doesn't indicate a 2013 release too much Keep it going! Valid points made all. Let's just wait and see. I don't mean to be a d*ck, but I wish, with all my heart, that you are dead wrong with your theory of April/May. I want GTA in October! And lets keep this quote going! October would be best also with the Christmas rush. I guess R* are to busy with the whiskey to care. Do you want to make the longest of long quote of GTAForums of all time? I wonder what is the limit of quotation? Let's find out!

Oh, and Wwinter, check this out:http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=517354 Further proof of October release...well, maybe not October, but 2012 at least I'm still sceptical but that was a interesting read. Today's twitter drama is also interesting. Let's keep it going! And at least you're kinda leaning towards October/2012 release. Being skeptical is the first step The 31st of this month should help more. If they still expect so much per stock on the 31st, it's gonna come out in 2012. Even as insanely popular as GTA 5 is, it'll still need to have a couple months of being out to make as much as TT expects. You realize this, right? Especially with Bioshock in February They may have intended to release it this year, but ended up delayed for whatever reasons. If that happens it's all a lie and it was suppsoed to be due out on whatever date they delay it to to begin with.
Geralt of Rivia
And lets keep this quote going! eagle016
This 1000 testers thing is not true. It would be overkill even for GTA game! And they would have to pay them sh*tload of cash. I was going to make that argument and I thought it was a good one, then I realized how much they made with the game. £14,000 per person at 1,000 people equals £14,000,000. That's about $22,000,000. GTA:IV made $500,000,000. In a week. So that $22,000,000 doesn't make much of an impact there, especially when that money is invested into making sure the game runs smoothly for people, which eliminates a backlash from fans. *cough*Skyrim*cough* It does seem like a lot of people though and a ton of money to test. Yes! Let's make the longest quote in the history of GTAforums! But me must also stay on topic, so it doesn't get locked. Did you see my other post to you? It should be in the gigantic quote somewhere near the bottom lol I think we summed up this topic in one big ass quote.
Geralt of Rivia
They wouldn't hire a thousand testers otherwise. Didnt know that. Is this for sure? Google finds many sites saying the same thing... Geralt of Rivia
I wouldn't put it past R* to hire more than a thousand. Doubtful, but I wouldn't put it past them.

Northeern
Just to let you guys know, the "All GTA games are 75% off over at Steam" is a part of GTA V's marketing. Do not expect an October release, you are all setting yourself up for disappointment. If we're setting ourselves up for disappointment, that means you must know when the release date is. Please, tell us. When is the release date? March 12th, 2013 Do you believe Rockstar are talking bullcrap? They recently told us through their Asked & Answered session that they won't be able to show more about the game other than the first trailer for a while yet. We all saw it in the first trailer, some parts of the map weren't even finished yet and it was filled with a lot of bugs.

Above
I doubt Rockstar would release trailers or images if they do not reflect the finished product. They kind of imply this when stating that they want to make sure that they only release 100% accurate info. What we see is what we are going to get. I'm not actually saying that they won't polish it but don't expect something too different. Nowadays I'm confident that GTA V is set for a spring 2013 release but don't be suprised if the remaining time will bee spent on testing, tweaks, online preparation and the pre-release marketing campaign. Especially with Bioshock in February They may have intended to release it this year, but ended up delayed for whatever reasons. If that happens it's all a lie and it was suppsoed to be due out on whatever date they delay it to to begin with. Did you see my other post to you? It should be in the gigantic quote somewhere near the bottom lol I think we summed up this topic in one big ass quote. Yup. LOL. October release for me, gigantic quote for a record. Where are the forum mods that can tell us it's a record!? On the whiskey like Whiskey is becoming the death of GTA info and record setting quotes! No more whiskey!
Uh-huh. Well, good luck with that. I'll enjoy my October thoughts Of course you'll enjoy it, because your theory is based on wishful thinking. I really want the game to be released in October this year, believe me, but I just can't see it happen.
