Fastest car in GTA 3

Recommended Posts

Banshee easy to control? I don't think so. I can drive it quite well but it sucks at turning at high speed.

I didn't notice that.Probably because I don't use the handbrake so much.I use the default "S" button most of the time.I'm more familiarized with using that.

It's kind of awkward to use that button\brake because the steering buttons are next to it, and most cars slow down pretty fast and I risk accidentally reversing the car and crashing it into something behind me. I rarely ever use that brake, 99% of the time I use the handbrake in combination with fast taps of the steering buttons to keep the car from turning.

I use that style in San Andreas, since the handling is different in that game.

Technically the Top Speed value has no effect on the car. You could make it 2000 or 6, and there will be no difference whatsoever when you drive it. How fast a car goes is actually controlled by the acceleration value. Cerbera did some interesting tests with this. smile.gif

Interestingly enough, it's not exactly the way it works! ...Well, at least for me.

I used to experiment with the handling file, and I once put the top speed value for the Rhino to '200', and it was going pretty fast indeed, although accelerated still slowly.

Then I put the top speed value for Infernus to '160', and I could definitely tell it was going slower than usual.

And I clearly remember leaving the acceleration values the same in both cases...

I've also messed with this, the top speed is either just a value used to calculate how fast peds should drive it when panicked etc, or entirely meaningless. It's all about the mass.

Hey guys. I need your help, please tell me which car is the fastest in gta 3.

le tank rhino with it's turret turned backwards and shooting.

Not exactly. I hate the car because for such an amazing speed it presents a very poor handling and spins out of control very fast when making turns or upon collision with any other vehicle or object.

Cheetah, on the other side, while bearing a top speed of 230 km/h, is a more stable car and keeps on the road pretty well. It also tends to spin out almost on every corner, so it takes a professional approach to know how to turn without spinning out.

Stinger has the top speed of 210 km/h, but is the most stable vehicle. It does not spin out that easily no matter what speed you drive, and you will never lose your grip after collisions. The drawback is that despite its size, the Stinger has a wider turning radius, but that is not much of a problem, I guess.

That is why Stinger is my personal favorite vehicle in the game.

what about banshee top speed?

I prefer the Stinger. The Cheetah always felt like a toy car that was too easy to lose control of.

You're not on the good topic. But anyway: take a stinger or a banshee, a rocket launcher and memorize the stands' locations.

This is the route I use for Espresso 2 Go, it's probably not ideal from a speedrun/sheer time perspective but it gets the job done and you usually have over a minute to spare.

The good thing about Espresso 2 Go is that the stands appear as blips on the map when you're in the general vicinity so they're not too hard to find. As per above start at the Construction site and follow the route down the map destroying stands in the way (I use the Rocket Launcher from Phil's Place). Swoop back up the map clearing whats left (which will give you a message when all stands on an island are destroyed) and then go over the lift bridge into Shoreside, hit the stand at Pike Creek then back to the airport to destroy the one there. Then head through the Porter Tunnel up to Portland and hit the St Marks area stand first - if you're worried about the mafia you can drive up the rear of St Marks on the grass between the car shop and the houses, past the mansion then get out of your car and stand on it to peek over the wall and destroy the stand though I believe the mafia only have sub machine guns in that mission. Coast on down to the final stand and you're done, just one of those missions that seems hard the first time you do it/when you don't know the route or map but it's realistically quite easy.

This is the route I like to use to minimize driving distance. There's still plenty of time left at the end.

(Sorry for using the LC mod, no map in the original GTA III. ;))

Yeah I gathered mine probably wasn't the most well optimized but it's six and two threes at the end of the day, I usually end up with about a minute and a half at the end.
