Real shame about GS and Steph Curry, he deserves more NBA rings, i hope he can achieve at least 1 or 2 in the next few years. Same with Klay.

Golden State Warriors need a good center and a replacement for Green, he's the only real PF in the team, guy needs a rest sometime.

They were close, but at 89:89, they burned out, could not concentrate to get a proper play for any kind of basket for 4 minutes, and Kyrie ended up the hero.

Big respect to Cavs for finally winning and LeBron the MVP as well in the end. And of course to Irving who scored the winning three pointer and played like a beast the last 3 games.

Deserves? In sports? Championships are earned, not awarded. You get what you put out. He (and the team) didn't put up a championship performance. He didn't play well enough to deserve a championship this time.

He plays too loose and careless with the ball, which results in a lot of turnovers. That has been the case all season long. Not to mention, his decision-making was atrocious last night.

The Warriors got outcoached and outplayed. Other than Green, they had nothing.

Steph didn't play that great in last year's Finals either.

No, but the rest of the team played better last year.

This morning, I heard on ESPN that Curry had the worst finals performance of any league MVP in NBA history.

yes, and I heard that Curry still has more money and receives more blow jobs than you'll ever know. funny how that works.

I come here the morning after the Cavs historic victory and your fagit ass is still harping on Stephen. let it go dumbass. you got what you wanted. he lost. we're all happy for Cleveland. any fan of basketball should be happy because this was an amazing NBA finals. we give credit where credit is due. LBJ finally pulled it out on the road for his hometown. but Golden State had an unforgettable season full of records that will likely stand the test of time and there's no reason to expect we won't see them on this stage again.

all around a great end to a great year.

LeBron did just as much in last year's Finals, but he didn't have his main guys. Amazing.....one of the best Finals performances I've ever seen.....right up there with Magic, Jordan, Kareem, Bird & Wilt.

Jordan had to score and be the game finisher. LeBron has to so much more in order for his team to win. Michael had Scottie, Harper, Grant, Rodman, etc., to to the other stuff. It'll be interesting to see how much longer LeBron can keep this up.

yes, and I heard that Curry still has more money and receives more blow jobs than you'll ever know. funny how that works.Lol, I must've struck a nerve hahahahaha. You've got some growing up to do if you think that what you posted is seen as an insult. No, it reeks of a childish and small mind. Distinguishing features of a Trump supporter.

It's really weird that you're interested in mine and Curry's sex life, btw. I mean, you apparently have sources on that subject. Or maybe, and I know this is the case, you're talking out of your ass.

If you have further things to add, do it through PM. That seems to be the more suitable place for that type of stuff, since it's not really about basketball. Otherwise, I'm done with you.

But, I digress.

Speaking of blowjobs, btw, Curry should know a thing or two about that. He (and the team) had one job, win one more game, and they blew it.

we give credit where credit is due.

However, that doesn't mean you can't also give criticism where it's due. And Curry opened himself up for criticism with his performance. It's fair game.

But see it as "hating" all you want. Funny though, you didn't say sh*t when I was bashing Kevin Love earlier on in the series. Funny how that works.

but Golden State had an unforgettable season full of records

Records that were all for nothing. After all, the goal is to win the championship. Something they failed to do. Failed hard.

The Bulls won 72 AND the championship. The next year they won 69 AND the championship. Best team ever.... maybe. There are some Lakers teams that should be considered as well.

Don't open spoiler if you easily get your panties in a bunch.

you've been warned

that will likely stand the test of time and there's no reason to expect we won't see them on this stage again.

Yea, winning 73 in the regular season, being up 3-1 in the finals and then losing when it actually matters, i don't think we'll ever see that again. Epic.

I also don't think we'll see an awarded MVP play this poorly in the finals again.

Congrats to Lebron and the Cavaliers. That's how champions play.

Thrilling game 7.

When the lights are bright, the stars need to show up. The Warriors stars were no-shows and looked anemic. The Cavaliers stars showed up big time and thoroughly outplayed the Warriors.

Steph Curry was exposed defensively, big time. Westbrook had his way with him and we all know what both him and KD thinks of Curry's defensive abilities.

Irving was toying with him, could seemingly do whatever he wanted against Steph. He didn't have an answer other than occasionally swatting at the ball.

Lebron though. He had a performance for the ages in this series. That's how a MVP is supposed to play. When the season is on the line, step up and put the team on your back. He was a beast.

I have to admit, I thought the series was over at 3-1. But I learned my lesson. Never count out the heart of a true champion.

I saw video of the Cavs arriving back in Cleveland. LeBron was wea ring a shirt that said "Ultimate Warrior". f*cking awesome

Did they or was it the fact that Love(maybe not so much) and Irving weren't playing last year? I bet they would've beat them then, too, if they did.

I heard on Mike and Mike today, Irving was second in PPG(27.1) this Finals behind LBJ. Last year? Timofey Mozgov with 14PPG. lol Big difference.

Good point. And wasn't Dellavedova their starting PG?

Although Love didn't play all that well this series, no matter what the plus/minus says. But Irving played exceptionally well.

He even showed up on defense, something that he isn't exactly known for.

I'd say so. Did Mozgov even play in the finals this year? I can't recall him doing so. That tells you a lot about how bad the Cavs teams that made it to the finals last year was.

Not A Nice Person

He might as well talk the most sh*t while he can. Same with Love we know he not getting another title.

And GSW did win Game 1 last year, with Irving so that analogy is false.

Not really an analogy. lol

It was in overtime, in GSW. So, it's not surprising that they did lose but they were also without Love.

They went on to win game 2 and 3, I bet they would've won it. It's just arrogant not to think that as a possibility.

Either way, Warriors have a lot of firsts this year:

  • First to win 73 games
  • First to lose as many playoff games as they did regular season games (9)
  • First to win a series after being down 3-1 and then lose one being up 3-1
  • First to lose the Finals after being up 3-1

am I the only one who feels like they should've gone ahead and given Finals MVP to Kyrie?

like obviously Lebron is Lebron. but he did what Lebron was supposed to do.

Cleveland would've have even survived through games 5 and 6 if Irving didn't go ballistic on the court.

Maybe one or two people. lol

Including my buddy who is a Warriors 'fan', he was saying 'No Kyrie, No ring'. That's making it sound like LeBron needs to do 5 on 1.. That's just dumb. LeBron won two games last year without Kyrie and Love. Remove LeBron and that team would've got swept by 20pt+ each game.

Maybe if Curry and Thompson showed up, they might've won. Hell, Green nearly scored as many points as they did yesterday.

LeBron did something no other person has done; the first player in NBA history to lead all players in all five categories for an entire playoff series. That's MVP status

Sure, Kyrie had a superb two game stretch but what about Curry and Thompson? They were nearly nonexistence. Especially game 7, 31pts between the two. Green posted 32pts by himself.

LeBron dominated every aspect of the sport called basketball... how the f*ck could you not give it to him?

remember how the Cavs got Kevin Love? by trading away the 1st overall pick, which was earned because the Cavs sucked without LeBron and Kyrie leading the way... LeBron is the heart, soul and general manager/partial owner of this team.

We have billboards all over OKC saying "we love you KD", "please stay" and the whole nine yards. If he wants that major money he will stay in OKC but if he wants to go to a instant contender it'd have to be either San Antonio, Los Angeles (clippers) or Golden State... and I hope that does not happen.

Dude, OKC is an instant contender.....sh*t, they had that series won and blew it. All they need is a few more pieces(a reliable third scorer) and mental toughness at playoff time. They do that and they're the favorite to come out of the west.

so then they should have given LBJ the league MVP, not the Finals MVP. the Finals MVP is about the Finals series, not the regular season or the entire team.

because we're talking about the Finals MVP, not the regular MVP. LBJ already has plenty of accolades for being good at "the sport called basketball." and he'll get plenty more. they would have lost the series itself without Kyrie Irving stepping up to the plate.

Cleveland isn‘t in the playoffs at all if LeBron isnt there.

The man is the literal definition of what qualifies as an MVP.

but this is one of the oldest arguments in sports.

I don't know that we've ever nailed down that "definition," have we? same debate happens every year in most sports.

does MVP just mean "best player on the team" or does MVP mean "most valuable" to his team? most valuable to his teams success. most valuable in the clutch. most valuable when he's needed.

if you're going to have 2 MVP awards, then the best overall player deserves league MVP while the guy who secured the Finals deserves Finals MVP. using the logic you guys are on, LBJ should've won regular season MVP and Kyrie deserves Finals ;)

take away Kyrie LeBron still carries that team to at least 2 wins like he did last year.. take LeBron away and it's a sweep, they're lucky to even get into the playoffs.

LeBron is the best player and most valuable player during the Finals. Not to take away from Kyrie's performance and he was definitely worthy of the finals MVP, but LeBron had it locked up.. Warriors could've won and they should've gave it to LeBron.

Kyrie played outstanding, but LeBron was the heart and soul of the team. Kyrie scored a sh*t load of points, on a guy who barely showed up in the playoffs.

Dirk opts out of his player options. I always envisioned Dirk as always being a Maverick, but supposedly Golden State has "circled" him as a potential free agent pick up.

LeBron said it best about season MVPs. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/05/lebron-james-stephen-curry-deserves-mvp-nba-most-valuable-cavaliers-warriors

Okay and LeBron was the first player in history, to lead a playoff series in all five stats. So.. ?

Curry and Thompson didn't show up for a lot of those games. So, why not blame them instead of saying Kyrie was the MVP?

You're acting like the guy I know, "Oh, without Kyrie, LeBron wouldn't have won!" okay and LeBron is supposed to do everything x2?? lol It's a team sport, Kyrie did what Kyrie was supposed to do. It was only two games out of 7, LeBron was on fire for at least 5 (not counting the first two games).

Since the splash brothers can go off for 60+, LeBron and Kyrie can't??? lol

ppNaW16.png

because "blaming them" is not how it works.

somebody had to step up and Kyrie did.

it's not that LBJ should've done twice the work.

it's that LBJ basically did what he was supposed to do. aside from playing well he didn't play otherworldly. timely shot block. timely 3 pointer.

he'll have plenty more MVP's to win anyhow. I think Kyrie earned it for the Finals.

giving the MVP to James feels like what everyone thinks they're supposed to do. because he's the heart and soul of the team. and I'm not arguing that he isn't. but that's different from the series MVP.

I still don't see an argument for Kyrie. He did what he was supposed to, score. 27ppg

LBJ led the series in all 5 stats. Had his 7th triple-double in the Finals and nearly had two more.

Curry got the MVP because of his outstanding play, not because he's valuable. It was proven that the Warriors can win without him but the Cavs can't without LBJ. They can win without Kyrie.

I'll blame them because they just needed one more win in the final 3 games and two of them were at home. You know what else? 11pts(was close to being just 9!) in the first quarter of game 6, the lowest of all time. Also, they scored 13 points in the 4th quarter in game 5 and game 7 AT HOME! Held scoreless in the final 4.5 minutes of that game.

Not even sure how this is an argument. lol

so you mean everything? because he literally did everything on the court.
