NBA Discussion

Remember Jordan won his first title when he was 28 himself and LeBron could have 3 at the age of 29.. So James may very well end up with more titles than Jordan.

Doesn't matter he still wont beat Bill Russell.

Well yeah, no one's gonna beat Russel. The NBA was a lot different back then which enabled him to win that many in the first place. It's a lot more competitive now so winning 11 rings is almost impossible. Also the fans would be pissed off if it's the same team winning every year for a decade.

Nobody will ever beat Bill Russell.. isn't it like 11 rings in a 13 year career, if not it is something close to that. That'll never be touched.

...and like I said, they should've just lost on purpose to get their "edge" and then they would be "guaranteed" a championship, right? ...you know, because they lost to Dallas in 2011 after winning game 1...so winning game 1 must be a curse then, it all makes sense now...yeah, you don't want to win the first game and start the series on top, no, you want to come from behind because it's happened a few times...

your sarcasm is dully noted.

your inability to differentiate statistics from coincidence is dully noted.

let's just move on before you dig a deeper hole for yourself.

it's not an important point. it's just a stat. relax.

Doesn't have to be the same team. As he could always move back to Cleveland :dontgetit:

Cleveland wouldn't win the league with only LeBron back, they'd need a lot more. The Heat on the other hand with LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Allen, Battier etc are beast and could win 2 more at least.

ITT: People who blindly believe the LeBron hype

People who think 3 years in a row of an 0-1 start in the Finals is a good thing

People who think that LeBron is going to keep winning titles and have more than Jordan because he won his first younger than Jordan

--and they're all the same people

You kiddies are clueless, the typical fan lacking in knowledge who thinks that they're an expert

Dan Cooper

I honestly think if the Heat had to play through the western conference LeBron may not have any rings right now.

I probably oughta clarify myself so I don't come off as the typical LeBron hater.
The 8th seed in the west (Mavs) had a record of 49-33 this year, which is a better record than the 3rd seed in the eastern conference (Bulls with a record of 46-34). Whether anyone likes to admit it or not, there's a very significant difference in skill levels between the two conferences. Miami had to beat the Bobcats (43-39) and the Nets (44-38) to reach the eastern conference finals, where they played a Pacers team that completely fell apart after the all star break and looked like sh*t throughout the entire playoffs. Meanwhile, the Spurs had to play against the Mavs in the opening round (6 games ahead of the Bobcats) and then the Blazers (54-28) before playing against OKC in the western conference finals. There's no question that the Spurs (or any team that would've made it through in the west) would've had a much tougher time reaching the finals than any eastern conference team.
I know I'm probably coming off as a typical LeBron hater anyways, but I can assure you that I'm not. I'm more than willing to acknowledge that LeBron is easily the best player in the game today. Still, I think it's a bit foolish for anyone to pretend like winning in the east is equally as impressive as winning in the west. There's no denying that the western conference is loaded with much better teams than the east. Denying that is like denying LeBron is the best player in the world.
tl;dr - When the 8th seed in the west has a better record than the 3rd seed in the east, it's clear that the west is full of significantly better teams than the east.

The Heat getting some calls, just a few.....

Funny thing is nobody is probably not even gonna get fined LOL

@Dan Cooper completely agree. And that's why I'm a little worried for the spurs because they've had it tougher. I would have never thought that Dallas would go seven games with the spurs even though game seven was garbage the MAVS still put up a good fight. Miami has had a cake walk so they are better physically. But since they haven't had any competition I don't know if they will be mentally ready to go against the spurs.

I just hope boston ends up getting love and then make a run at trying to get melo.

Exactly. That was f*cking pathetic. There was no call at all until Wade started acting. That referee shouldn't even be out there.

Also, I love how every time LeBron misses a shot he looks to the referees for a call. And people wonder why some people can't stand the guy.

How the hell does not only Parker miss two free throws but Duncan also. C'mon details man details.

Duncan's got one of the worst free throw shots I've ever seen, lol. It's like a straight line to the basket with no arc whatsoever.

Welp, the Spurs shouldn't be disappointed. It's difficult to win a game of 8-on-5.

Yeah, I'm just speaking out of frustration. I always get wound up during playoff games.

I suppose that's the whole point, right?

it was just a good, tough game.

wire to wire until the very end.

either team could have won tonight but credit where credit is due.

Miami has not lost 2 playoff games back-to-back in the last 47 appearances so they're keeping the pace alive.

Cleveland's got Kyrie, Dion Waiters, and whoever is picked 1st in the draft. And a decent bench and a potentially nice coach with whoever we hire. I think we could get somewhere with that setup.

Sir Michael

What do you guys think about that Chalmer's elbow situation?? Natural move or intentional?

Actually, I'm not surprised at all the silly Lebron hate from clueless fans and media types - Wilt, Dr. J, Magic, Kobe and even Michael Jordan got it too. Hell, Magic already won two titles(and had his greatest Finals performance in his rookie season), but he stumbled against Boston in '84, and folks pounced on him - called him 'Tragic Johnson'. So Lebron's in good company. Haters gonna hate.

Man good game. I thought Spurs was the better team throughout the game, but LeBron went the hell off he was on a f*ckin' tear there in the 3rd.

Dan Cooper, I don't think anybody would argue that the western conference is superior to the eastern. You're playin' devil's advocate though, there really is no way to tell except to get their win/loss record against the western conference.

I don't know about the Chalmers elbow, it seems innocent but could've very well been intentional.

Looks like Wade's not even gonna be fined for all that obvious flopping he did last night. No fine, no warning, nothing.

Yeah, the NBA doesn't favor the Miami Heat at all.

the NBA doesn't officiate in any one team's favor.

lopsided calls happen every single game. they don't change the outcome of entire series.

However the Heat players haven't got fined. Stephenson got fined for flopping, and not even as close to as badly as Wade.

LOL

Calm down guys! Dwayne Wade got fined... everything is ok. Nothing is rigged and nobody has favors. Any other bone pickers you guys have? Was Chris Andersen to involved with the offense game 2? Was LeBron passing to much at the end of the fourth quarter?

It's official Derek Fisher is the Knicks new head coach. I think we're going to see a lot of these player to head coach transitions, especially if Fisher and the Knicks clinch a playoff birth.
