Definitely was a block, hit the ball first and his hand continued on to his LeBron's.

Yup.

LeBron crying over the whole thing was the best part. He knew it was a clean block.

Pacers came crashing down to earth. Hibbert is a massive joke, 1 rebound in 34 mins of action. Are you serious?

Yeah, I don't understand why they didn't just put Mahinmi in. Hibbert has been completely useless lately.

Too much infighting, and the Granger/Turner trade was a bad idea. I know they did it for salary purposes, but the team hasn't been the same ever since. I don't know if Granger had a bigger presence in the locker room than most people realized or what, but if they don't turn things around in a hurry they're going to make it easy for Miami to reach the finals again.

He must have been huuuugeee.

Through all the poor years and he's just shipped out; terrible. I understand Turner has potential, but it's a big risk and I think people can easily pinpoint that trade as being key part if the Pacers fail to win the East.

The NBA needs to go with the NFL playoff format or shorten the season. It's just bogus how most of the final games don't mean anything, alas Heat.

What's also bogus is how the playoffs drag on for two freaking months, and that just over half the teams get in. Changing the first-round format from best-of-5 to best-of-7 seemed like even more of a blatant cash-grab.

Still, I'm gonna be pulling for Pacers or the Bulls to come out of the East. Anyone but the Heat, really. It'd be pretty cool if OKC comes out of the West and Durant/Westbrook get a ring.

Granger was garbage on the court TBH, and it's more the addition of bad presences than the taking away of good. And PG is completely unfocused.

Larry Bird needs to take control.

Would love to see the Warriors go all the way but I doubt it, would love to see San Antonio win it as well as they've deserved it for years. Actually I'd be happy if anyone in the West won it, the East has been appalling this year and I just don't like the Heat.

Or shorten the damn rest days, 3 days between each game for some is just retarded.

Higher ranked teams should get 3 straight games at home, a rest day, then 2 way games, another rest day and game 7 at home. 8 days for a series, not a possible 14

I'm rooting for the Spurs and Clippers in the west and the Bulls and Pacers in the east.

Actually the Miami-Charlotte series (for example) spreads over a possible 15 days, and they've spread the games the wrong way. Instead of having a 2 day break between Games 1, 2 and 3, why not knock the first 4 games over inside 6, 7 or 8 days, and then allow rest days near the end of the series if it goes to 7 or whatever? The prize for winning 4-0 should be a decent rest, but by bringing games closer together as the series continues, that advantage is nullified. Get them out of the way quick and if a series drags on, give it a pull in the right direction.

Yea, majority of the games have two 2-day break between and four 1-day in between. 15 days is max for a seven game series but its all about tv air time.

Guys, before I took any action I wanted to ask your opinion as I'm no expert on Basketball.

I want to merge this topic with the College Basketball thread and rename it all 'The Court: Official Basketball discussion' or something to keep this section tidy.

I know that the NBA and the NCAA are different, but in the Footy Desk we discuss football from all over the world, multiple competitions etc and it keeps it neat. I feel it would be better if all basketball discussion was in one place to avoid confusion and clutter.

Let me know what you think.

The Bulls are unwatchable w/o Rose (big surprise, right?) For anyone else that don't think the Heat's any good here's a little tip. They save there energy for the playoffs. Why go full throttle all year when you don't have to. Save that energy. Your winning again this year anyways. LOL. If Kevin Durant could guard anyone, he would have my vote for MVP. But no defense from him yet, since he has been in the league. MVP is both sides of the ball. Nuff said.

@Max.

A lot of the people who talk about the NBA know absolutely nothing about the NCAA it's not like football where the same clubs play in various tournaments. The NBA is one league and clubs within the league play the NBA only, and it has little relation with the NCAA so I won't know what they're talking about in that topic since no one gives a sh*t about the NCAA here.

It's fine the way it is.

@esmitty

Kevin durant has easily been the best player in the NBA this season.

He will win the MVP just you wait.

You have to play both sides of the ball. Kevin Durant is the best offensive player in the league. He will win the scoring title for sure. But he couldn't guard is way out of a wet paper bag. You must have not seen him play these last three years. Horrible defense. Defense wins championships and helps out alot for MVP. It will be the same this year. No defense, no MVP.

Sir Michael

Here's a bracket for the NBA Playoffs.

http://www.nbaplayoffsbracket.com/2014/index.php

Kind of sucks to be the Bobcats, having to play the Heat in the first round. Granted that Miami's a bit plagued with injuries, Charlotte still has a huge challenge with stopping LeBron. I don't think Michael Kidd-Gilchrist can body him up.. that's about to be a mad mismatch (then again, LeBron can mismatch almost any Small Forward).

Heat-Raptors/Heat-Nets will be nice though.

I'm looking forward to Mavs-Spurs Dirk-Duncan possibly final battle, which is kinda sad.

And the Nets-Raptors is gonna be nice, happy for the Raps being back in the playoffs.

Pacers-Hawks is gonna suck.

Might as well shut down the NCAA thread since it's over, draft news and stuff is pretty much NBA.

I love the playoff format the way it is.

Sometimes it takes a full 7 games to determine the better team, and sometimes even 7 games isn't enough.

I also like the length of the regular season. The only thing that really needs work in the NBA is the officiating IMO, not that much can be done about that.

Charlotte in 5.

Nah, the only upset I really expect to happen in the first round is Nets over Raptors.

Basically, Brooklyn are starting to look like the side we thought they'd be at the start of the year. I'd take them if Garnett stays healthy.

@ Max, I wouldn't merge the two. NBA is global, NCAA not so much.

Still, the Nets beating the Raptors would be considered an upset because it'd be a 6-seed beating a 3-seed, not that I assume you're unaware of that or anything.

Yea I guess, I was going more off of who other people were choosing and the hype.

The Warriors-Clippers game was good, and It looks like the Pacers won't beat the Bulls in the second round, if they can even beat the Hawks LOL.

Larry Legend might have to come down and coach the team himself.

Ok guys, I'm going to respect your wishes. If you don't think a general basketball thread would work then I won't try it.

Thanks for your input.
