I don't see this Phil Jackson-James Dolan marriage working at all. Donnie Walsh was promised autonomy and look what happened. Brain-Dead Dolan stuck his nose in the Anthony negotiations, blew up Walsh's long term plan and forced Walsh out. Why would it be any different under Jackson? Phil's working for a hotheaded, spoiled, rich man's son who thinks he knows how to run a franchise. Nothing but a money-grab on Phil's part.

If Phil Jackson can break the hold CAA has on Dolan and the Knicks organization, him coming here will be a good thing. From everything I've read, it was CAA who convinced Dolan to trade for Bargnani. Grunwald was pushed out because he was against it. Same for Walsh and the Anthony deal.

If that happens the Clippers will be the team to beat, but I don't see it happening. If LeBron doesn't stay in Miami I think the only place he'll be going is back to Cleveland.

 

The Clippers and OKC both put on a show today. OKC's struggling at the moment with trying to get Westbrook back to his former self, but they're getting there.

 

I look forward to seeing the Rockets and the Suns go at it later tonight. Should be a great game.

I believe LeBron will remain in Miami for the rest of his career, but if he does leave there's no way he's going to the Knicks.

 

Players and coaches around the league aren't blind. They see how badly run the Knicks are, and what a horrible owner James Dolan is. Why would anyone worthwile come here?

Plus, of all the places he could go, why would he go to a team with another star SF like himself? He could go to the Clippers and play alongside the best PG in the game and one of the top PFs as well. Even if he went to Cleveland he'd be playing with an elite PG in Irving, which would likely be better for him than playing with another SF.

 

It just wouldn't make any sense for LeBron to go to the Knicks. I don't see him leaving the Heat at all. They've spent the last three years building that team around him, and he knows no matter how good he is that he can't just win a championship with any team. It has to be a good fit, and the Knicks would not be a good fit at all.

How about this Spurs winning streak? They just won their 16th straight against Denver, but they have 3 challenges in a row against Indiana, Golden State, and OKC. They're the Western Conference team I'm rooting for, they deserve to go all the way.

Seriously.. not many people appreciate the Spurs. It'd be nice to see them get one more ring before Tim retires.

 

I find it baffling that here in the West, the number 8 spot is being contended by teams with 40-30 records... the West has been like this since the early 2000's. The East needs to get some players because they're weak as f*ck. ;D

The key is avoiding Chicago in the first round. Whoever gets them is in for a long, grueling, physical series.

Does anyone else think the Cavs can make it to 8th seed? The Knicks are in 9th and the Hawks are in 8th, though they all have much harder schedules than Cleveland. Kyrie's back, which should make it easier. Currently in the game against the Magic, the Cavs are dominating with 20+ points ahead of the Magic. I'm from Cleveland, so I'm a Cavs fan all the way.

The eastern conference has always been sh*t lately, one to two teams always getting in under .500.

I just realized that the T-Wolves would currently be the 6th or 7th seed if they were in the Eastern conference.

If my Mavericks, who are at the 7th seed in the West right now, and are only one win ahead 8 seed Memphis and unseeded Phoenix, would be in the 3rd seed in the East. Eastern conference teams have it easy, their division is absolutely trash.

OMG, that team was stacked in 2K5. I think Sam Cassell was the point guard and Mike Olowokandi played center. Kandi man was among the biggest busts in recent history.

 

The East looks pretty strong now.. they have 7 teams above .500 now, but the West has 7 teams above .600 at the moment (3 of those are above .700). That's unheard of, but the weirdest thing this season has to be the Bobcats being above .500!!

Didn't KG play center? I'm almost certain he was the one taking the tip. And that was an exciting run that year winning the #1 seed. Taking the Lakers to 6 games in the conference finals. And the East is just pathetic. When sub .500 teams make the playoffs every single year. And the 7th seed in the West would be a 3 seed in the East you have a problem

Oh well that's interesting then. But yeah that team was stacked. If I remember correctly one of the main pieces was hurt going into the Conf. finals. Kind of makes me wonder what would have happened if they were at full strength.

Yeah, true, looked at the standings and most of the other playoff teams in the East are starting to play their best basketball. The early part of the season was completely dreadful for the conference though. Surprised that Indiana really hasn't gotten it going lately though. Everyone wants to automatically put the Pacers and the Heat in the conference finals but I dunno. Indiana's not that hot and the Heat haven't really beat very good teams lately. If there was a third team you could really trust in the East, they could surprise everyone.
