I can't wait to tell my kids and grandkids how big of a cop out Kevin Durant pulled. One of the most unique and gifted players of this era, and he decided to pull the softest move I've ever seen a professional athlete do.

Yet he criticized LeBron for going to Miami back in 2010. Difference was, LeBron didn't leave a championship contender. Had Durant stayed in OKC, they would have been a serious threat to the Warriors. Now the balance of power is all screwed up.

"If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"

Twenty turnovers, bad transition defense, very little offense from Tristan Thompson & the bench plus Durant being Durant = a complete ass-whipping.

Cavs played right into the Warriors hands. Quick missed threes lead to fast breaks/dunks.

Also, Miami didn't win 73 games the year before, along with nearly being back to back champs. lol

Let alone, the Thunder had them at 3-1.

Hopefully they figure some sh*t out sunday.

Good game, and Durant played his a*s off. Say what you want about him he's one of the best players in the world and it was fun seeing Lebron get ankle'd, what happened there xD

Funny enough, the first two games last year totaled +48 for the Warriors and these two games are +41.

So, there's hope!!!!!

Not, what a joke. NBA is a joke, No Balance Allowed, apparently.

yeah that's about the best that the Cavaliers can offer and Golden State didn't flinch.

good for Warriors fans and boring for basketball at large.

hopefully Cleveland can at least make the remaining games interesting.

Amazing game, Durant is earning his ring and something about his dunks especially when they're in Lebron's face..

Amazing game, Durant is earning his ring

You should google the definition of the word earn. He certainly isn't doing that.

This series is OVA. The Warriors are loaded - with Durant, they are too much for any team to deal with defensively. Love, Irving, Frye, Korver & Deron Williams don't scare you on defense. Shumpert's game has not progressed since his Knick days - dude still can't shoot.Scary thing is, Golden State would have scored more without the turnovers. Now that Klay found his stroke, forget it.

I still think Cavs can do it. Durant is playing like a guy possessed but while your team has LeBron, you still have a chance.

Lebron can't do it himself, and he's seemingly given up on trying to work with the guys he has, Lebron needs a Robin and Kyrie isn't doing it this year.

thats why i stopped watching it for the most part. I remember when chris paul couldn't join the lakers because it would've made the sh*tty lakers a super team, then the next year lebron can go to miami. plus the NBA is the only sport in the US still ran by the mafia.

Amazing game.

Amazing game? Your f*cking joking right? I hope your talking about an individual performance and not the game in general. The NBA will be a boring joke for the next 3-4 season. Adam Silver needs to go tell the Warriors to give up 1 of their 4 all stars otherwise it's going to be non-competitive playoffs for years to come.

lol, ok slow your roll hot shot.

what exactly would the asterisk be for??

this is just business as usual in the era of free-agency negotiations. are you saying every big man who can't win a title all by himself deserves an asterisk? nobody wins alone. might as well put a big fat asterisk next to Michael Jordan's titles for all the help he received from Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen :sigh:

If you can't understand why some folks would want to put an asterisk next to an superstars name for joining 3 allstars (one being only unanimous MVP) coming off back to back championship appearances.. then you just don't get it and your not suppose to.

Might as well put a asterisk because everyone will remember the weak ass move he made unless your a KD fan or Warriors fan.

what exactly don't I "get?"

can you explain it in words?

if not then I'm pretty sure you don't get it.

these guys can do what they want. they can team up how they want. I don't see how it takes that much away from the championship.

He is joined a team that was established already, what don't you f*cking get? It'd be on par with Michael joining the bad boy Pistons when he couldn't get past them. Make sense now? We know they can do whatever they want, but his legacy will always be remembered for being weak. No true all time great has to go join a team that was already a great championship team to begin with.

Jesus Christ dude.

lol... the fact that you're so angry pretty much makes the point for me.

you're just a fan who's overly invested in something that's not a big deal.

just because Michael Jordan did things differently 25 years ago doesn't mean it's the only legitimate way to do something.

if he couldn't have won a championship with Chicago he would've done what he had to do. he wouldn't have just languished in a losing city if he didn't have to. everyone likes to pretend that the great players from the pre-free-agency era are some kind of mythical titans of sportsmanship and loyalty and honor. which is bullsh/t. there's no rationale for that. it's just an idea you like to hold onto. the only reason they did things differently back then was because the players had no choice, much less freedom, and more franchise restrictions which were beholden to the team owners and general managers.

his legacy will be remembered like that of any other player; points scored. MVPs earned. titles won.

the only people who hold onto this grudge of "sellout" and "weak" are people with a bone to pick which (fortunately for the NBA) represents a minority of fans. most of us just love watching good basketball.

The playoffs will end soon and then I can forget people like Durant exist again.

I will laugh if LeBron dunks on him and snaps his ankle.

Man, your out of your element donny. You barely come around here and claim what I say "represents a minority of fans" when all I hear about KD is he's weak and a sellout, especially on here, unless your Mion. I take it more personally because I'm a OKC native, so yes, I'm a passionate fan that's salty as f*ck that this loser decided to take the easy route to a championship. What can I say? I never denied it.

I'll remember him for being a great player who went to get a easy ring. Good guy off the court, weak minded on the court.

Also, if you enjoy "good basketball" this must've been a dreadful year to watch the playoffs. Get use to it, especially the Warriors manage to hold onto the core they have now.

KD's decision to join a 73 win team is clearly the weakest move by an NBA superstar by far. I'd basically be reiterating what's already been said on how it's a weak ass move and I'm not even an OKC fan. I love watching the NBA and actually like to watch competition. That's "good" basketball to me. Not seeing a professional team make the other competition look like a JV basketball team. These nba players are humans and they can make their own decisions and no one is attacking them personally. The majority simply dislike his decision to join an already star studded team that beat him. If he had decided to go anywhere else besides golden state then I would have been fine with that. I'm not gonna be so invested about them and carry a personal hatred towards them. Whatever they decide than that's them. But at the same time ppl can have opinions and the mass opinion on what KD decided to do is negative cause it completely ruins the landscape of the nba and who knows whether or not this is gonna start a "super team" trend in the NBA. To me it's all about a competition thing, KD had more than enough help with OKC (hence why they where up 3-1) yet decided to leave cause he couldn't get the job done. Not putting all the blame on him but when you're a superstar caliber player such as him the blame goes to him first then you look at the others. But it's whatever hopefully free agency will split these guys up.

Well said. If you honestly think 10-20 years down the line that when we talk about Kevin Durant being one of the GOATs, because he has that potential, the fact he joined this team will be brought up in a negative light. It just is what it is. Great business decision on his part, probably a outstanding life decision for him as well, but as far as basketball and his legacy goes? It's going to hurt it. Even if he does win multiple rings or other individual awards. He could've seriously went anywhere else and I think it would've been perceived way better.

.. but the fact the guy went to the team that beat him and the Thunder, ripped the heart out of the city. I was apart of it, and it sucked ass. I didn't burn his sh*t or wish ill will on the guy, but he almost lead this sh*thole city to its first major sports championship.and to see this guy balling the f*ck out for the Warriors sucks even more and makes the saltiness worse. So waaa, call me a waambulance.

Completely agree, and i find it funny how paul pierce wants to call KD the best player in the NBA today. This is coming from a Boston fan and im a huge pierce fan but c'mon my dude, you put anyone on that damn team and they'll look like a top 5 all time best player lol. Hell javel mcgee is looking like a decent big now.

Will Cain agreed with Pierce about KD being the best in the league, on First Take, and Marcellus Wiley asked him would he still think that if the Cavs do what they did last year, by coming back to win it? He said, no. lol

How can you say that about KD and then say he wouldn't be the best player in the league, if they end up losing the series?

What has this league become.

No Balance Anywhere lol

it just sounds like you guys are overly invested in these player's lives.

I understand the feeling you have but I simply disagree with your belief that it's such a bad thing for basketball.

you say things like RIPPED THE HEART OUT OF THE CITY which is pretty melodramatic but I get it. some people are so diehard and caught up in fandom they think that these athletes owe them something, or have to abide by rules that ordinary people don't have to abide by. there's no loyalty to cities or birthplaces. people go where the money and opportunity is. that's life. you put together the best team you can manage to put together in order to give yourself the best chance to succeed.

when you're on the playground picking sides for dodgeball, the strong kids tend to group up against the weaker kids, because why wouldn't they?

news flash: GTAForums is not the majority of basketball fans...
