Anyway seems like a real old leak from the beta, what do you all think? Anyway, on topic: For those of you who are into social networking and have a Facebook/Twitter account... you COULD try asking the GamesCom guys yourself; little hint: don't ask if V will be there, just link the EuroGamer article and ask if they just made up the part about V or if GC staff actually denied it being there. In the statement to Eurogamer, all Gamescom said was that the linked account was a fake. Gamescom isn't actually going to come out and say what or what not their exhibitors would be showcasing. I mean, I honestly don't think it's common practice for exhibitors to share their plans like that... and Rockstar would be the last company to do so. What's even more funny: his username in those french video game site forums is "deepthroatgta_5". For even more fun: if you read the answers in that forum, on the third page a user claims that the first person to mention the Gerald Bauser profile was "Antho74"; curiously enough, antho74 (3 posts, joined July 8 2012) is currently reading this thread. Here's his thread. Oh yeah, and he's also the one who linked the french forum in the first place Gotta open my eyes sometimes... The point is, chances are we have Gerald Bauser in our midst. If that's true, may I ask you antho74: why "Bauser"? I was guessing because it sounds like "Bowser" from Super Mario, right? EDIT: He posted roughly 30 minutes ago on that french forum that he'll make a little change to the profile soon so that we (or actually the people on that french forum) can see that he is indeed who he claims to be (= proving himself to be the "real" fake guy). Or maybe this means that it won't be on the normal showfloor and that they will be there for the press. But i don't think so. I guess this says plenty about a possible release this year....it won;t. @Carl Why? Because GTA games have been at GC in the past, RDR was there and so on. A demonstration of GTA V at GC would have made sense. But i guess they have their reasons for not attending. I just hope this doesn't mean the game is very far from completion. Maybe Rockstar really was telling the truth in that Q&A and maybe we shouldn't ignore that and actually believe that they mean the opposite. What if the game won't be coming out in may 2013 but in October? It's very possible...with a demonstration at Gamescom in August 2013. That news could be all a cover up but I highly doubt it. This falls in line to what I've always believed and that is that R* have there own time slots and do things there own way.
