Yes you're right. Seems that tweet is BS. Although it would be cool to walk into a store in a months time and see GTA V sitting on the shelf without knowing about it.

That's the problem with internet. Everyone can claim something and it might be the biggest horsesh*t you've ever seen, such a shame. Right now i'm on this gamesite and they simply say it like its a fact that GTA V will be at Gamescom, only because of that stupid ass GC trailer, are they dumb or something? The E3 trailer had V in it too, but we all know that we got zero information during E3. People are actually going to GC now and expecting a GTA V booth, it's sad that these sites can't do a more professional job.

You're right, I looked up some articles and they all say 'gold status' about two weeks before release, but who really knows for GTA's case?

We'll see what happens. So far 100% of any publication about having "inside info" has been nothing but illegitimate bullsh*t. For some reason, I feel something different with this. I'll see what happens in the next little while and if this comes to fruition or not.

Alright, everyone. I am a member at GTAChronicles (I'm sure some of you are as well, perhaps?). I had a brief conversation with someone with a username simply "Mike", who is an Admin on that site. He claims that the Twitter account for GTAC is run by a "Third Party" and so far, has not divulged any info about said third party or how they were able to obtain the info. However, he does claim that it is legitimate.

 

Obviously, he could just as well assume I would turn around and post it all over this forum, thus creating some trolling and spreading around a bullsh*t rumour. But before I posted this, I had asked "Mike" if it were okay to post our convo on this forum, and that me posting it here would be a sign of his defending the legitimacy of the GTAC tweet. He said go for it. So here's the link to an imageshack URL that I just created. Hopefully it works.

So that's the quote train I had with this admin. I'm not saying he's right. Personally, I'm finding it hard to believe him (for obvious reasons). I just thought I'd let you guys know what was currently going on with that tweet.

Yeah no doubt, guys. I'm not banking on it either. But why now? People have been cashing in on the "we have GTAV news" for MONTHS now. Why so late jumping on the train? And after months and months of false leak after false leak, surely people would be wary of this type of thing again (it seems we're all choosing to be sceptics this time around, as opposed to paying any attention to it). I respect any GTA forum, there's no competition IMO. But that site doesn't look like it's ever had a TON of traffic, so I just don't see the point in generating a small buzz on their forum, just to have it die down once it's realized this is a false tweet.

Correct. I've only been a member of GTAF since January 2012 (though I've lurked off and on since GTASA). I do not know much about the history of the forum or those people who have been keeping it alive for so long. I do know that certain members from this forum are admins/users of other forums, and vice versa, I just am not aware of who's who.

 

Which also begs the question, if he's a member on both forums, why create animosity or stirrup controversy between both forums?
