Looks very good. How far is it from completion? Will you edit all environment textures, including trees and leafs?

Difficult to say when the mod will be ready. Now I almost finished work with Los Santos. And still remain: San Fierro, Las Venturas, countryside and desert region... Also all interiors. biggrin.gif But the following cities not so technically hard (number of sections far below).

I plan to replace the texture of the all trees. But so far, I only recycle plants like agaves and bushes (because they are in TXD-files with textures of the streets and buildings).

Shame, there isn't bump maps support in SA.

Yes, SA not support bump-mapping, but support a kind of optimization named MIP-mapping. Think you made a mistake in terms.

I use Alci's IMG Editor for adding\replacing files in IMG-files. And... I thought, and I decided that I use the textures that you found (three original textures from GTA SA). They are useful to me. smile.gif Thank you again.

LAwn. Part 1:

Jim's Sticky Ring

It's time to present one of the features of mod: besides replacement of textures, some models also will be improved. This is the first mod devoted to improving graphics in GTA San Andreas with this feature.

For first, I was a little improved building of the cafe - donut is round now, also added reflection.

The same screenshots at imgbox

Unfortunately, I could not figure out how to combine correct reflection and prelight, because of this I don't use prelight for this model (but at night the building still looks not bad), if someone can help me, see this thread.

Uh, why should you spend so much time on 3D reflection when you can use Photoshop to make reflection to donut texture, chrome, metal effects; works day and night. turn.gif

At least for me it works all the time.

Yes, I often do that. But when the reflection is "drawn" on the texture, it does not change depending on the player's location. Reflection on the model looks more beautiful, it was interesting to use it.

Just another stupid "your mom" joke. Personally I don't find them funny.

On Topic: I'm glad you're doing mesh-smoothing! Are you planning to do the hills and perhaps the desert formations? They look ugly as hell.

Clear. In Eastern European countries such jokes are seen as a very personal and very literally, and can even serve as a reason for conflict.

But back to the modification. Yes, I plan do this for some hills in the desert. I think it would look cool. smile.gif But I hardly do it for the similar areas in the cities (Los Santos hills for example).

LAwn. Part 2:

All Saints General Hospital

Today I post new screenshots of HRT which shows All Saints General Hospital, Los Santos. I continue to not only change the texture, but also to work with models. When I put the new textures, I was surprised that they do not look the way I thought. I did not like very small windows of a standard hospital. Therefore texture imposed by me completely from scratch, also added a reflection on the glass (reflection is "painted" on some textures, but also made some other way on large front windows). (On this screenshot from 3ds Max reflection more visible).

Also have to say that I finally began to eviscerate GTA IV resources and took out some textures from they. I found, as many have said, some textures from the old GTA games, but in a better quality (although I thought that there will be a lot more). Some other textures also useful. For example, windows of this hospital were made based on windows from GTA IV. But the textures from GTA IV will be a little bit and they will look different because the familiar textures should not throw you in the eye.

I see you're using GTA IV textures.

That's good. I've noticed that there are a lot of similar textures in IV, if not they're the exact same textures that date back possibly as early as 1999! Good idea! I noticed IV used a lot of SA and III textures, but in their original, HD form.

Something tells me that Rockstar will still be using some old textures. And, if think, all textures of the San Andreas are in the their "storages" in excellent original quality... And I spend so much time to their re-create. Sad thoughts. smile.gif

Any ETA?

Estimated time of arrival? No, not yet.

LAwn. Part 3:

All Saints General Hospital

In these screenshots better view new texture mapping - windows no longer such small and hospital looks much more realistic. Model prelight also made.

LAwn. Part 6

A few screenshots of quite ordinary places. On screenshots 2 and 3 you can see original tile texture, but "replicated" - more smaller and proportionate. Comparative screenshot below this text shows standard texture from SA and the same texture, but from GTA IV, in better quality.
