Ambient color plays a big role in GTA:SA. The map/model editor does not simulate it properly.

I use original timecyc...

 

Earlier screenshots from the game always have the same brightness, like in game. Now it seems that when I take screenshot, ignores parameters of gamma that was set in the game. So, problem is that the gamma on the screenshot is darker than in game. Strange, in other games situation is normal. Now I must manually fix gamma for normal brightness. :(

This is another old building (newdbbuild_lan04 in game files), like in previous report, and situation here was similar; even more: in original game this building used the same model as previous (newbuildsm01) building, but with another proportions, and problems were the same.

I could use the previous model that I improved, but I decided to improve this model anew, to make them not very similar to previous one (in the same time I used textures from that model).

As always, were fixed defects of original mapping (see second comparison image).

Los Santos City Hall


Los Santos City Hall modelled from Los Angeles City Hall, the center of government of Los Angeles city. This is one of the highest buildings in California state, it has 32 stages and was competed in 1928.

In my mod this City Hall has really high resolution textures (for me it was very difficult to find similar windows and I hope that current result is good).

@Flame: A suggestion.. Try making some parts of the buildings or shops to protrude out and some of them go inwards or else the surface of the building would look plain completely flat... I mean some small details

 

For Example you can notice the window panes in this image... they just protrude out...

Yes, MrMateczko. Sometimes I think, why they not made all these repeatable textures in generic containers (something like ONE txd for all vegetation), why a lot of textures are repeated hundreds times. It is enough tedious to replace them all (but this will be in the mod).

Pavanjit22, this is good suggestion, I know about this. Model on the screenshot was made according to today's requirements to graphics (now models just must be more detail than in 90s and 2000s era games); windows in GTA SA, as a rule, just are "painted" on the textures, they are not convex. Using of high quality texture, despite of low-poly models, can compensate model details. Also in some cases I improve the models, but I cannot do this with each model. So, maybe we will be without convex windows, but maybe on some models later I will do something like this.

And Rockstar seems to still do that, I have found dozens of YTD's between V files with the same f*cking spinning loading icon...

I was thinking about your problem with that so many different TXD files. Maybe there is (or can be made) a program which opens all TXD files at once and where you can replace one texture and all the files that are the same are changed directly (maybe a challenge for a programmer?)

Yes, this will be good challenge for programmers and good idea. In the same time, I accustomed to do everything by hand; working files of the mod are placed in such way that now it is easier for me to insert repeatable textures.

Also there is one note - some textures have the same name, but other look (one grass textures has the same name as texture of the hedge, for example).

Repeatable textures problem is not problem for me now. I always glad if in TXD file there are a lot of textures that I made earlier. Bad that game still has a lot of unready textures. :)

Aren't you modifying IDE/IPL files anyway? If so, just abuse txdp like it was abused on PS2, ie. a lot more than on PC.

Great! Please make sure it is compatible with the latest version SA-MP 0.3.7 and that it doesn't give any advantages (so RP servers would be playable) :)

It will be worth to you, too, since many (I believe most really) of the GTA San Andreas players nowadays are actually SA-MP players. Making this compatible for SA-MP will bring you much more users for the mod (and donators ;))

Single-Player players aren't that many since there is GTA IV, GTA V, while SA-MP players have been dominating for over 10 years now regardless of released GTA series games.

txdp is the section for specifying txd parents, exactly the thing you need.

 

Like, txdcut.ide:

 

 

txdpcsbravura, bravuracsopcarla, copcarla[...]
This specifies bravura.txd to be a parent of csbravura.txd and copcarla.txd as csopcarla.txd parent. Means, if the model uses bravura.txd and refers to a texture which is not present in it, the game looks for this texture in the parent TXD. This way you can get rid of pretty much ALL texture duplicates.

 

And since you can nest the sections (so if A has a B parent and B has a C parent, A can use textures from both B and C) it's great, underused feature which reduces IMG sizes and RAM usage (most likely). You're losing nothing since you have to track the duplicates down either way.

I totally agree with you - online mode is very important, will be cool, if people can play GTA SA online with good graphics from HRT mod. Не за что. :) (Ne za chto, not at all). What about donators. I doubt that anything will bring more (more than few people that already donated) donators. GTA players are not that players who ready to donate.

But mod can be adapted special for SA-MP. Earlier I released adapted for SA-MP versions of my The Seasons mods, like Endless Summer SA-MP Edition (also special versions have Autumn Sunshine, Spring Season, Winter Vacation...).

 

Maybe HRT 1.4 also will be adapted for SA-MP, maybe as separate version, maybe the main version will be compatible. But I say again: I am not promise this, single-player is the main in this mod at this time.

 

I want that people can pass storyline again with the mod without any crashes and other bad things (that very often happens with big mods).

 

 

Is HRT only for Los Santos or for the whole game??

Of course for whole game. :) According to features list on the first page - "Replacement textures of the whole game world (buildings, objects, roads, landscapes etc.) to high quality analogues". You can also see development progress map on the site to know some details.

 

Now I do Los Santos for the second time and in new quality.

Couple things I wanted to cover below.

1. Can you please make a Ru/Eng version of this software?

Unless, I've missed the English version?

 

2. Add a Language box into the installer, as I can not read Russian. As you have English established into this software it would be great to have this option at install point to see what is being said before installing take place and happens, as its all set in Russian and users having to get a translator tool to agree upon what has been written when Russian and English is offered in the software...

 

- Other Words -

Russian and English gets installed side by side once completed from no option pick. First time you use the software you have to open all software and change it to English, as the default is Russian. Please allow us to pick a language setting for first install in all packages that allow a English change in the package offered.

 

3. Please remove SA Tool Pack 2.5 ReadMe text file once we pick a Language to not show up in pure Russian and replaced in the language you've picked on install.

 

4. SA Tool Pack 2.5 if installed on your desktop will show up "SA Tools Pack 2.5" and the shortcut all show up with the same name please add shortcut if this happens if the file is both the same name...

 

5. Add tutorial information how to use the tools.

 

6. Remove the ???????????? when hovering over tool sets and add information here please this would be in the interface.

 

7. Please allow us to pick a area in the interface and keep the interface open without it closing down as this would be great with a pick toggle option.

 

8. No right click option to close down, "SA Tools pack 2.5" in the side Show hidden icons by the clock in "Windows 8.1" etc... So when you open it like normal it will keep adding up in the background...

 

9. All are just suggestions to help the mod community that is using this product you've packaged.

Atrium (Arcadius Business Center)


This is an Atrium (in GTA V place named Arcadius Business Center); building based on Westin Bonaventure Hotel from real Los Angeles city.

Should I once again say that this place uses really high definition textures? Each detail, like materials of the building, doors, pavement and even ground in flowerbeds have textures with 2048×2048 (and in some cases – 1024×1024) pixels resolution. Reflections on the buildings now darker then in original game, like in real life.

Initially whole the territory with Atrium was used only 2048 pixels textures, but later I optimized them to avoid incorrect game work. Also I must add that I tried to made move (not real-lime according to game technologies) reflections on the glass of building, but (again according to technologies) it was looked not very good in this situation, so I left imitation of reflection with using of ordinary texture, but and this texture now is better then earlier.

Place also has models that were improved in 3ds Max with fixed texture mapping problems.

Anyway, with this Atrium was made long and good work and I hope that you will like images.

I know, that I not for nothing decided to remade Los Santos in new quality.

In old work version of HRT 1.4 (2011)


This how this building was made in old (2011) work version of HRT 1.4, when I started work on the mod. Now I can better. I definitely not for nothing decided to made all these anew.

Fivekills, about software - yes, I use the same programs like earlier, and these are old tools (sometimes some people criticize me for it) - TXD Workshop, G-TXD for textures (later I can improve textures with TxdGen, it is not included to pack). Other tools - Photoshop CS6, 3ds Max with Seggaeman's plugin, Col Editor and so on.

it is very good that you liked my SA Tools Pack, it is very pleasant.

What do you mean by "Remove the ???????????? when hovering over tool sets and add information here please this would be in the interface" - is text in tip (when we move the mouse on button, program displays a tip with brief description) not displaying correctly? This can be connected with unsupported Russian language in your system or missed font that used for that text in tip. Most likely, the first.

I cannot test the tool pack with Windows 8 and can not adapt it, run it in compatibility mode with XP and say me in PM, how it is work.

I can try to translate tool later, but I cannot write tutorials, because this will be too much, I have not enough time for all these. These features will be good for some new version of tool pack, but I do not can to do this. So, I can just release English version of tool pack with translated readme, translated text in menu, tips and installer. Most likely, in PC of user will be just installed two language versions of menu (two exe files) and if user want use English version, he (she) can start English shortcut, if Russian - Russian. Can you be a tester? I'll write you when I will decide to do English version. Edited by Flame

As with a lot of other buildings, this place was not only retextured, but remodeled a little; were fixed some defects of original texture mapping. Note on the windows on main part of police station (over the entrance): in original game there is huge seam strange defect that now completely fixed.

Also on the top of the building there is some construction (I'm sorry for this inaccuracy); look that in original game instead of transparency there is just a gray color; now this part have a transparency and through the construction player can see the sky.
