I know Flame that you have difficult situation in Ukraine. And your computer fault. I really like your texture packs along with season mods(HRT 1.3 and Endless Summer mod). You do it in right way, so textures match their low-res equivalents.

Thank, for your understanding, zmudziak32. Luckily, with a computer now all is okay. But with sitation we have another story, because it seems that life will only more complicated in future, but will believe in better, and I am sorry, of cource this is not polical thread, so I will refrain from talking about this (if what, anyone can ask me in PM).

I very glad that we have (I really can say this) little, but faithful community arround this mod, and this is great luck. :)

By the way, now I repost some screenshots from mod's site.

Here they are:

You mean like this (http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=920) or just higher quality version of the original? In which case you can also grab the Mobile Radar files which are twice as big as the PC version.

I would like to see a mod that adds more "props" into the game, like this.

It would make everything seem so much more detailed.

A mod like that would be simple to make, all you need is to know how to use MEd.

But it would be time consuming because of the size of the map and amount of details that need to be added.

I'll open one secret: I thought about an idea to add more props (minor objects) on the location, but it has a lot of disadvantages too (possible violation of limits, for example, and I am afraid that this may be perceived as a violation of the atmosphere), so it must be made carefully. Will see at this later, maybe I'll add a lot of props for better detailing of scene in HRT.

maybe some graffiti around sf (textured of course)

Maybe you can get some graffiti ideas from the real SF...

No, new graffities are too much, in the mod must be carefully observed atmosphere and style of original game.

I understand, but I dont like how rockstar put all kinds of graffiti in LS but neglected SF... San Francisco has a large graffiti culturee

This isn't a map mod, it's a texture mod, and it should stay that way. Besides, we don't even have the mod yet, let him just do the main work, and then we'll talk about additions.

Thanks for understanding, MrMateczko. I would say that HRT it is no longer only texture mod. But before all these additional things, I must do main work with textures.

He uses G-TXD, he doesn't have to change the programs yet. When he creates all the TXD, he can simply use the Magic TXD or TXDGen to make them better.

Nice work man, looks good :)

He's lucky man then, I guess. No matter how hard I tried, I never succeeded in launching the damn tool.

I read somewhere G-TXD have many problems as TXD workshop. Something about wrong mipmaps. As much as the new tools are amazing, TXD workshop is still the easiest to use.

Thanks for your comments, friends.

About tools. I use both of these tools: G-TXD running correctly (but before start the tool on Windows 7 is needed to register in systems some libraries). Bad in G-TXD that fact, that it's sometimes "breaks" TXD files, but I check each file and fix it, if I see problems. Some people think that G-TXD generates unattractive MIP maps, but in most of cases (when the texture is not "reticulated") they look good.

Flame, what's your process when making a texture? Do you start from scratch or rework the original file?

SergeantSavidge,

The most part of textures are creating from scratch. Only little part of them is just improved old textures.

How do I create textures from sсrach? When I opening TXD-file that contains textures, I see what textures are there and, based on this, work with them. For example, I must rework a texture of the wall (grass, roof, wood). I open my folder with my textures and find similar texture. (I have a little hobby - to take photos for textures... and generally take photos). If I cannot find needed texture in my textures, I search it in third-party textures. (Some I have in computer, also I search them in internet. Third-party textures are from open libraries, these are textures with free licence).

Next, when I have a texture, I put it in Photoshop (now I use CS6 version, earlier I used CS2), and an original texture too. There is a new target - adjust new textures for maximum similarity on original one. I must edit texture and adjust it by colours as original. Then texture will be imported to the game.

Also in mod (for the mod) is using method of improving old textures. In this case over the resized old texture, I add texture with additional details to make it little better. It occurred to me when I saw so-called detail textures in some games (when texture with details adding over the main texture by the engine). Of course, this method is not ideal and some people can say that it's bad, but sometimes we can save time. I must say that textures made with this method are not many, and a lot of old textures that were made with this method now were remade with using of fist method (from scratch).

(I think that I use this answer later for Frequently Asked Questions section on the site).

Besides this great work, you have studied something related to graphic design?
