I like first variant, but guy from Russian forum says that bricks are very small (in original game they also small).

I like second than first variant, because on first are spots where repetable parts are more aparent.

Like 95% of whole San Andreas textures? You can't get away from that, without editing the whole DFF model. And believe me, there are millions of those DFF files inside San Andreas. Of course Flame does correct some of the DFF's when textures are missing, or are wrongly put by R*. But forcing him to redo pretty much the whole gta3.img is just crazy. If so, he would be doing this for at least 5 years.

Gonna ask a simple question, RoSA means 'Retexture of San Andreas' while SRT means 'San Andreas rextured'. What exactly does HRT means? tounge.gif

Construction Site

 

Construction site is a problem place in old-gen HRT Pack - part of it is not loading, maybe because corrupted collisions or new objects in IPL limits (but, and this strange, problem disappeared if with mod installed PO, Spring Season or other The Seasons mod), by the way in HRT 1.4 this problem will not be.

 

I used HD-textures for this place and fixed mapping; note that in HRT 1.4 ground texture have smooth transition to the sand texture, while in the original game ground looks just like block.

"HD ReTexture", I think.

Good variant, but canonical variant is high resolution textures, very simply. smile.gif Funny that now mod focused not only on textures, but textures are main part, of course.

What specific texture you refer to as "skull cracker texture"? Could you show it in a photo?

Other than that, amazing work. Looks like you've done the "ZIP" banner as well. Nice work.

I have viewed all screens in this topic and I must say that it is impressive how natural your textures look. And the smooth transition between sand wink.gif-perfection. I can't wait for more screens and final release of course wink.gif.

The only thing I DON'T like about this mod is the design/art stuff, stuff like the ZIP Banner above, it's not using the same fonts or arranged in the same style to the original, which is a shame considering how much effort you're putting into the actual detail textures to make sure they look close to the original but in High Quality.

As long as there are not any grammar errors (like in SRt3), it's fine. Making the font slightly different, while maintaining the same colors shouldn't be a real issue to users.

Of course that doesn't mean that all of the text of building will be like this, note that some fonts used in the game may not be publicly available, or they might cost him money. Just look at the recently fire station, looks damn like the original, to me. Plus, if this really begs you, he may just re-do the texture. Or do it yourself. Here, take this:

Hey, you must not forget that I was not obliged to redraw signs or... even work on this mod.

 

I do this at will, I spend my time (instead watch movies, play games, which have accumulated a lot, read a books etc; and you know this because you too make mods) and not take from this any money or popularity or something like this. So, please, don't say words like "shame". smile.gif

 

I could not pick up correctly front for "ZIP" banner (also I hope that for other banners I select really cool fronts, for example - Sprunk logos).

 

If anyone know what font used there - please say this here or in PM.

 

MrMateczko, thanks, you're right. Skull cracker is big... metal ball which hanging on the crane, with this thing destroying buildings. I search for txd-file in game.

Well, I've loaded the SFse in every map editor I could found, and the crane simply doesn't appear. Looks like it's a dynamic object. Guesses are, you already did retexture the texture, because in Los Santos, there's the same crane.

Now, I post some screenshots of other sections of Los Santos. This is not the new footage, but we will come to absolutely new screens.

 

I also replace LOD-textures and re-write signs (not all, but most of them). And don't forget - on pictures you see only new textures; on final stages of development the game will look much better.

Oh yeah don't take it the wrong way or anything I know how much work goes into these and it's actually a compliment in a way, you do the rest of the textures THAT well, that these remade banners stand out by not looking as good as those, and I understand that you might not want to waste a hell of a lot of time matching this stuff up when there's more important things to do in other areas, I really do like what you've done with the grass transitions and stuff, improving on what Rockstar did but also keeping it in the style. smile.gif

You can find the wrecking ball texture from cranes_dyn2.txd. smile.gif

It's strange, but I did not find it in this file (I thinking that this texture - ws_sheetsteel, but not) and also in cranes_dyn2_cj.txd.

New textures for that house, and yes, bricks are small, but I cannot use for all houses HD-textures (we remember about limits), so I compensated this by mapping in 3ds Max. Also new house has two new materials: more dark bricks on at the edges of steps, and texture for steps.

Sorry but original looks better. R* texture(s) have some repeats but looks more natural, yours - just like it's made from the same blocks.

No. I'm talking about the limits, with which few people faced. Not limits (with blinking objects or textures etc) that fixing by memory512/1024/2048 or SA Stream Mem Fix.

 

In game we have also some other limits, something like limit to memory that used by a certain section or something like that. When it is violated only some objects are not loading, or loading only LOD-variant, but not main variant.

 

 

Pretty damn good.

 

Do you have a estimated release date or something?

Thanks. I have only inaccurate release date - 2013.
