No, I don't use smoothing for this hills; smoothing can change the dimensions so I might be forced to shift original objects. I plan use smoothing for rocks in the desert - it be looks wonderful. icon14.gif

Hey Flame.

 

First words: The textures are looking great. I expect great potentials from this.

 

Second: I have a little problem with the latest HRT Pack 1.3. Remember the place where you get the RC Chopper Dude's mission? The road there is not covered with the textures, and when I try walking in, I'd just drop down the space below. I'm having trouble with that. Can you check and fix?

 

And I believe it is only the HRT Pack's problem, for I don't use any other modifications besides that.

 

Perhaps some screenshots would help.

Hi. You can write me to PM, this thread only about HRT 1.4, not HRT Pack 1.3. I know the problem of "intangibility" (absence density) of some places (and interestingly that not always intangibility in the same place). This is because the limit on new objects (in IPL-files) or new collisions (COLs - because included Project Oblivion 2007) is reached (somehow it happened). Sorry for this problem; I spent a lot of time, but only came to the fact that this problem can by fixed by a complete rebuild of the mod. I decided fixed this problem in the new version, HRT Pack 1.4... which now known as HRT 1.4 and will be hellishly stable. So, wait for HRT 1.4. smile.gif Glad that you like and old version too.

 

You may try add objects like a walls or gates (in MEd) in these places for complete mission.

 

P.S. When I need to write a lot, my English is even worse...

kyarashotgun, It's not only HRT problem. This bug happens randomly after installing any mods. This has something to do with the 2 missions in San Fierro where you put cement in a hole at the construction site behind the garage in doherty and destroy the yeyo factory from mission called yay-kaboom (or whatever called). Check out these places in a savegame where those san fierro missions are finished, you'll notice something odd and somewhere else you see flying cement in San Fierro which is either solid or not. It's a underrated bug which really annoys me, but sometime's it's funny to be honest.

How did you get your hills looking so smooth if you didn't use smoothing? Especially those pics that you posted previously around the Vinewood sign. The hills look very very smooth.

I do not use smoothing for hills models, but high resolution textures do their work and make the hills more detail and not so "angular". smile.gif

Sorry but no. I know that you would love to play with HRT 1.4, but the better you get "solid" (holistic), full product, not unstable piece of mod.

I agree 100%!

Supposed high stability of this mod, is one of the best things in this mod. Nothing more than loading a bunch of mods, then to realize one of them is crashing the game. Patience is very important.

 

Also SRT3 2012 Mipmap Edition has some collision problems on San Fierro, hope this one will have everything done right.

I've also voted your mod on ModDB, hope you appreciate this Flame.

That dirt wall texture needs some serious work. Looks way too clean and unrealistic, nothing at all like it looks in original game.

Textures in original game just very hazy (blurry) because they are in very low resolution and as result even objects visually appear to us more "dirty" and angular. Also on second image original texture is very stretched and the new texture is more accurate. But I already made one of dirt textures more dirt; you can see picture in one of previous posts.

LAhills, part 6

 

Work on the latest section of Los Santos (technically called «LAHills» and dedicated to Vinewood Hills, which prototype in real life are the Hollywood Hills) came to the end. Thus, all the major work on Los Santos are finished (but later the city is still waiting for lapping and some places will be are improved).

 

Latest screenshot pack shows some buildings and streets of this section.

That would have been great. I would have seen how big must this mod is, and how it will run on my computer.

Also are LOD's for Los Santos done as well, or they're be done another time?

Yes, LODs are already replaced but not all. In the video clearly that the textures are not so suddenly replaced from LOD-variant to the main variant.

Do countryside/desert, then SF and as last you can do LV. The countryside/desert doesn't have so many texture files. Cities require much more texture files because of the buildings.

 

Also don't forget that the textures in countryside/desert are repeating. R* did a very awkward job here. They could make out of 5 txd files to 1 txd file, because the textures are only repeating. So you can keep for example the desert with towns covered with your textures with only around 50 custom textures. But SF needs more than 150 I guess.

Desert might take a while also, as he said he was going to try and smoothen out the rocks etc.
