Very simple thread. Take things from other open world games that would be useful or nice to have in GTA V.

Mafia 2:

Being able to simply rob shops for quick cash:

Self-Repairing cars:

Red Dead Redemption:

The amazing visuals in the mountains and desert:

The animals:

San Andreas:

Learn new fight moves:

The Godfather Game:

Choking people (at 5:25)

Assassins Creed:

Being able to climb up buildings (obviously not to this extent, but similar):

It'd be cool if they had a first person shooting mode for when you're in combat like in MGS4. I don't think I'd use it much, but others might

i want returning Sa features like flying, cars, bikes and boats schools, gyms to increase strength and gain muscles, multiple fighting styles, more SA activities like parking, working at carrier, trucker, pimp, taxi (but this probably will be...), vigilante, fire truck missions, ambulance missions and many many more...and in addition to that some new activities probably mountain climbing (i guess it will be possible), maybe some kind of car stealing minigame when you have to collect cars and bring it to certain location or export/import missions like in SA, robbery off course (not like in SA but much more improved), amybe some stunt minigames, where you have to clear obstacles, some race challenges for each type of vehicles and thats pretty much will make me happy panda...oh and weapons off course they should bring back more heavy weapons - flamethrower, heatseek launcher (i'd preffer them to use Stinger Rocket Launcher as weapon model), Gatling or Volcano minigun and probably just one high-tec weapon like Tesla Lightning Shock Cannon, that would act similar to Flamethrower only on longer distance and have multiple targets "sticking" effect...oh and how could i forget about collectables and unlockable rewards!...

Mafia 2 would be amazing;

- Open hood

- Open trunk

- Rob stores

- Fix cars

- Shoot/cover physics

If they included features like that and other realism features then the game would just look more realistic.

EDIT: Snow would be a good weather, and it actually goes on the cars and windscreen like in Mafia II but not for a period of time, it just happens randomly every 20 game days or something?

ultimatelizardman

- crippled limbs which severely affect the character simillar to that in fallout.

- complete vehicle customisation based on that of saints row and mafia II.

- weapon customisation like in army of two, where each part of the weapon modifies it's total stats.

- usefull, customizeable friends who could work (vaguely) like the followers in fallout new vegas.

- more realistic cars like in L.A. noire, where they have reduced health and don't explode.

- more interactive enviroment like that of fallout new vegas and L.A noire.

- more interactive vehicles like in mafia II.

- partially destructible enviroment like in mercenaries 2: world in flames (it should only apply to smaller buildings in GTA V).

I personally really, really hope they don't use the whole facial expression capture thing that LA. Noire used. And if they do, I really hope the main character's facial expressions aren't so over exaggerated and unrealistic this time. Unlike Cole's which looked hilarious and stupid at most times

Extorting shops and rackets to pay protection money. - Godfather games

Robbing stores - GTA VC & Mafia II

Car customisation - a lot of games

Lots of different ways to complete a mission, go in guns blazing or a more stealthy way with advanced AI thinking like a normal human being, they will be cautious before shooting if they think they see something - Far Cry 3

Buying and selling drugs - GTA CTW

Mango's - Crash Bandicoot

Police recognise the your car but not your face. Changing cars can lose the police so long as they didn't see you.

I'll add in a couple more

- GTA Vice City Stories Empire Building (Crack houses, prostitution etc)

- GTA Chinatown Wars Drug Buying/Selling

- Stats from SA

- Ability to Train from SA

- More player customization (like SA NOT like Saints Row)

Pretty much what everyone else says.

I just realized that Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare's "saving towns" activity is similar to San Andreas' gang territory activity. Instead of gang members invading your turf, zombies are attacking and you have to defend the area or choose to ignore it, like in SA.

That would be good for a online co-op game, waves of gangsters or maybe cops and you have to defend an object from the attackers.

Stealth. Like they did with San Andreas but more options and ways to achieve stealth kills.

Racecarlock

The garage system from mafia II and SR2. If f*cking mafia II, the realism obsessed game, can still have a garage system like that, then there is no reason GTA can't. The parking space sucks.

I like this thread but with these awesome features that you like to have... you just dissapoint yourself.

Maybe less than 50% will be in the final game.

But of course, the game would be waaaay better with all these features..

I don't think R* will do it... GTA IV was about 70-80% finished for me.

It's like a puzzle, that is not completet yet... and they release it. confused.gif

Great topic!

San Andreas

Customisation of vehicles/person (not too much like SR3 though)

Stealth as other people mentioned: hiding, crouching and creeping as a different approach to missions

Improvement: stamina, health, lung capacity, driving skill, bike skill etc

Businesses that earn you money

Garages

More properties to purchase

Crackdown

Crackdown had a great shooting feature where the longer you hold the aim the smaller the cross-hair gets and becomes a more accurate shot. Great for stealth

Improvement: Like SA you could improve aspects of your characters abilities: jumping, running, lifting etc

Climbing (Although it would need to be more realistic in GTA)

Just Cause 2

Destructible environment: trees and plants can be knocked over

Big map (too big for GTA?)

Beautiful scenery

Red Dead Redemption

A few animals

Multiplayer mini-games!

Wheel for weapons

Ability to take criminals to jail

Bully

Seasons change as the story progresses

LA Noire

Partners can drive you to next location (hold triangle PS3)

Climbing over objects (But with maybe more controls other than just pressing forward...)

Climbing up drain-pipes

Big map

Now I like the sound of these ideas: especially the Bully idea. I also like the sound of customization of vehicles and of your person.

Like in Scarface The World is Yours, when your Rage meter fills, you go into fps mode (BLind Rage) for a short amount of time, it was a great idea along with others that were in the game...

The pipes from Mario.

You go in a pipe at one place and come out somewhere else.
