Zirvlok
Hello everyone. First off, if you don't know what lucid dreaming is, it is being aware that you are dreaming while dreaming. If this is an unfamiliar concept to you, I encourage you to look into the subject. So, I was wondering if there are any other lucid dreamers among the GTAForums. I'd really like to chat with others about the subject and swap stories and techniques. Edited June 9, 2012 by Zirvlok
anus
Tbh I think I lucid dream on a regular basis but the problem is that I rarely remember whether I did or not after I wake up. Keep in mind that this is just by going to sleep I don't ever intend to lucid dream or go thorugh with any preparation. I also RARELY have dreams. guib
I have tried it a few times, didn't work... Just the idea of doing everything you want without consequences, seems delightful .

Well, people have dreams every night, it's remembering them that's the issue. If you do care about remembering your dreams, you should keep a dream journal. It works wonders for your dream recall. Also, you're a lucky bitch for having random lucid dreams, they're difficult to come by for me, but I'm getting better at it. @Guib What kind of attempts did you make? DeeperRed
Its defiantly something I really want to look into. I have very vivid dreams but I have no real control over them, or even myself in them. The ability to craft ones dreams would be f*cking sweet!
Firefly8000
I've had a lucid dream, it seemed like a normal real life day, yet there were dogs driving cars and sh*t. I woke up and I was like "Thank f*ck for that" I'd thought the world went crazy or something

AnotherDave
Being aware and able to control your dreams to some extent is relatively common as you start to regain consciousness before you wake up. Typically, you'll realise you're dreaming, but only for a few moments before you wake. Proper lucid dreaming is great. I've never tried to bring it on, but every so often - usually during dreams that seem incredibly real - I'm aware that it's a dream and I can do what I want. I always seem to start out not 100% sure if it's a dream or real life, and invariably end up getting my dick out so I can judge people's reactions. The logic, I suppose, is that if people seem indifferent to my junk being on display, it must be a dream. As of yet I've not done this while awake, fortunately. Of course, there's always the possibility that I'm dreaming that I can control the dream and it's not lucid at all. Who knows? Either way, they're more fun than normal dreams. Mike Tequeli
A good way to tell if you're dreaming is hit a light switch or read a book, our brains aren't any good at processing that. A bad way is to look in a mirror, our brains are really bad at processing how those work and you'll look like a circus freak.
AnotherDave
I used to get really annoyed with lights in dreams. There was something about how dull everything still was after turning what should be a bright light on that freaked me the f*ck out. I don't remember that happening for years, though. Now if lights are screwy I quickly realise I'm dreaming.
ZDANZ96
I don't know if thinking while morphine takes effect in your body is a lucid dream. But, whatsoever, I don't think I've ever had one at all.

Yeah, I had that once, but I didn't know I was dreaming, so I wasn't controlling the dream. It was really scary, I would walk off the stairs to the mirror, and when I looked at it, I saw a mix of a scary clown, Medusa(snake hair) and my own brother (who looks like me...) hambones
I read the opening of your post as "Hello everyone, f*ck off." anyways I lucid dream every once in a while. had one the other night actually. I don't really have any techniques, but thinking about dreaming before sleeping seems to help. Also keeping a dream diary helps, as soon as you wake up after dreaming just write down what the dream was about. Just thinking about the dream throughout the day helps as well imo. sometimes I just get a few minutes of lucid dream action, other times it's a long ass journey that feels like it lasts forever. I almost always get the former but every once in a while I'll have a long ass journey.
Narcis_speed6
I have something a little different, when I am dreaming my body is moving in real life depending on what decisions I take in my dreams, sometimes good decisions turn out bad. Is impossible to tell difference from dream and reality, my brain is making it damn believable. Example: I am in a war preparing to throw a grenade at some enemies, when I suddenly wake up to realize that I just threw my phone out the window (from the 6th floor)... The medication I started to take about 4 years ago seems to have helped a little.
Pucchiac
I would say almost every dream I have is a lucid dream. I can do anything I want - when I want it. All I have to do is think of a concept and it comes to life in my dream.

Pucchiac
Something I forgot to add in my post is that I have been lately dreaming about drinking, and smoking. Hell - just a few hours ago I was dreaming about drinking a margarita - tasted like sh*t and made me f*ckin' dizzy, but what can I say? Those dreams are also lucid dreams. All I have to do is think of a concept and it comes to life in my dream. You lucky, lucky, sonavabitch. I am jealous to a high extent. I've been practicing (a bit on and off) for about 2 or 3 years and have had mild progress. My best was 2 lucid dreams in a week and I was f*cking estatic. But I've been reving up into full gear for the past few weeks, making sure to get things down in my journal and doing reality check. Actually... I'm going to set up my alarm right now so I can try out some other techniques. I really want to have a WILD, but that seems to require me having to had just come out of sleep no more than an hour prior, otherwise I can't complete the transistion. I never have tried to but it seems I am different then others, when I was a small child nightmares never scared me; I liked them. Because of knowing I was dreaming I liked the feeling of being in danger, without any real life qualities at stake. I have done many things in dreams that would get me jail time in real lfe. Then again - I don't want to drink or smoke, but I can't stop myself in dreams lately.

na89340qv0n34b09q340
When I was 10 or so I had a dream in which whenever I said the words "I wish" my dream would change. The problem was, each time I changed the dream they just got more nightmarish. In one of the dreams I was on a large inflatable slide, and the guy at the top who tells kids when to go turned into an evil clown, and the slide deflated until I almost suffocated. In another part I was in a den with my parents, and they began melting into a waxy elastic substance. Not sure if it was really a lucid dream or not, but I did have some control over what I did in that dream, I remember actually thinking out when to say "I wish". Another cool dream experience I had was being able to see friends during dreams. I would tell my friend that I saw him at place X in my dream, and he'd be able to describe me in his dream in a very similar place. Not sure if it was real, or if he was repeating what I fed him, but it was a neat thing to believe. walkingsickness
I had a really lucid dream last month where I went to sleep and immediately was standing in my living room. I looked around and then turned back into my room. I seen my girlfriend sleeping in the bed but I wasn't there. I went back to living room and from a position in the living room, I can see my balcony (I live in a condo). The sky was weird looking, that's when I knew I was dreaming. I never dream like that before...It was crazy. I felt like I was only there for 5 mins but when I woke up It was morning.
DEALUX
A bad way is to look in a mirror, our brains are really bad at processing how those work and you'll look like a circus freak. I had that happen a few times and it looked pretty realistic at times, but the image sort of blurs out as you examine it closely. I have lucid dreams frequently, sometimes I realize I am dreaming from the start but sometimes I only realize during the dream, usually when something goes wrong. I have started having some scary lucid dreams lately, you know, like the ones where you can't wake up. The last one I had was like one of those dreams where I am in my room doing normal stuff like in real life, but something goes wrong. Things in my room were getting swapped with old things and the light kept going on and off. Funnily enough, the light in my room doesn't work properly anymore (I don't know if it stopped working like normal before or after this dream). I wanted to wake up because the dream was freaking me out (something which I usually accomplish with ease) but I couldn't. I would close my eyes and go ape sh*t (my old method of waking up) but then I woke up in the dream again. Hardly, after a little while I woke up all sweaty and stuff. Most of my lucid dreams used to involve a girl I very much liked (and still do somewhat). I sort of have this reoccurring lucid dream, but with slightly different locations in my city, where I become aware and I try to find my way to this girl's place. I never seem to find it because the streets change and it goes dark after a while and I wake up. Very rarely have I managed to see and talk to her. I read that if you rub your hands when you are lucid dreaming you can stay in the dream for a longer period of time. However, remembering this is not very easy, I have only managed to remember that twice and it mostly worked, but the dream gets more flexible the more you want to stay, it transforms into something else eventually and you lose control (at least in my case). DEALUX
I used to make things appear in my dream or get super powers, but I haven't really been able to make girls appear. However, in one instance I was talking to a friend (in a dream) while this girl was passing by. My friend's answer to my question didn't make any sense and that made me realize I was dreaming, so, I jumped on that girl and the dream switched to a full sexual intercourse scene, but it only lasted a couple of seconds. Zirvlok
Removed at users request. Anything is possible in the dream world, though becoming lucid doesn't grant you the ability to do whatever you want, it takes time to learn how to control it. If you want to do things real quick, before you really know how to control things, you can try to use your subconscious, which actually isn't that hard. For example, if you're looking for something, but can't spawn things yet, ask a dream character where that something is, and they'll probably tell you. That's how I get around my inability of control anyways. Edited June 10, 2012 by Zirvlok
