I have no idea what to do with the timecyc, any ideas....anyone. yawn.gif

Darn. I was just about to add that.

 

For the timecyc we have several options:

-Keep using Visual IV

-Create a Realistic timecyc.dat

-Remake the GTA III timecyc.dat

-Use the stock GTA IV timecyc.dat

-Use the stock TBOGT timecyc.dat.

Another idea, make LCS timecyc. (mixture of the ps2 version and PSP version.)

 

LCS like timecyc might look good on Rage. I know it may look bright in areas that are supposed to be dark, but on Rage you can use the shadows. In shadow lighting, it could look like the darker lighting you see in the interiors and on the PS2 version.

But I do think that instead of using GTA III helicopters, we should use LCS. If we can get acess to bikes from the LCS PC Edition team the LCS bikes should be used in place of the IV ones. But the LCS timecyc will look good in Rage with shadows. PSP version looks bright, but in the shadows we can have the darker PS2 version look.

Been working on the water, originally IIIClassic had a GTAIII-shaped water.dat but it was very offset and was too low. Recently when the map got improved the old water.dat got replaced with one flat water which was too low and covered the subways/porter tunnels.

I've imported the original IIIClassic water and moved it to the correct location (and making sure it didn't go over the universe borders) however now the entire map needs to be raised by 6 units (on Z axis i mean) to prevent the disappearing reflections bug.

Just added the real water to replace the fake water in the Shoreside monument thingy, also lowered the ground collision so that it's possible to walk in the water but not swim.

 

Edit: Crap, i meant "now the entire map needs to be LOWERED by 6 units ".

Nice. But yes. I hope the team agrees with me on remaking the LCS timecyc, and maybe using the LCS bikes and helicopters. I think the III helis will be too crappy looking on Rage, and the IV bikes don't fit in with the other vehicles.

 

Edit: Apparently that LCS Police Maverick is a beta one. Tail looks lower, and windows are not transparent. However the back doors may need to be open like on IV and Vice City Rage so back seat passengers don't have their legs sticking out through the door.

 

Edit: For LCS timecyc, the shadows can ether have the dark look that GTA III has, or the dark look that the PS2 version of LCS has.

 

Edit: May do some loading screens today. Do you want the original concept art or the tenth anniversary concept art?

 

I'm also going to switch chatterbox and game fm. Their flip flopped vs the regular order.

Ok. Original it is. However I think it would be cool to have the GTA III Rage Classic logo look like the Tenth Anniversary one but instead of saying Tenth Anniversary it says Rage Classic. Another thing. We shouldn't use the HD cars. Takes away from the classic in the name. I think it would be best to use Xbox cars, and LCS vehicles for the vehicles not in III but in LCS.

Your right. The lift bridge does kinda look like that. I think its the field of view change that GTA IV does when you look up or go up high.

 

Speaking of the lift bridge, wouldn't it be cool to go up into the control room, shoot the person operating it (or make them run away), and then control the bridge?

Yeah seems like it, also i had the screen in a crazy-wide resolution so that might've exaggerated it.

Although, I don't have to do all weathers, I do sunny and sunny-windy, (so not -extra- sunny and others), pick one.

 

@Frank, not that it's my mod or anything, but I dont think you should ''3D'' the logo, looks kind of silly.

 

EDIT: nk, you can't swap radio stations, only sjaak can. tounge.gif

EDIT2: Speakin of loading screens, I have no idea what to do with them. Static images is silly, need to be dynamic, I need the gta 3 artwork characters in png images,

Btw, what does the script.img that's in the 1 folder do? I've just got around to doing the re-spawns etc and i wanna know if there's anything from the DB script that i need to incooporate into my scripts.

It was mine, because there was none, you can delete it.

I see. I know you are doing the timecyc. But I recommend the LCS timecyc. When I think about it, with Rage effects the LCS timecyc will look good. But do the PSP timecyc. Or a mix of the PS2 timecyc and PSP. I noticed that Rockstar darkened the PS2 version of LCS. But on Rage with the shadow system and advanced graphics a good look would be the PS2 look in the shadows, and the PSP look outside the shadows. If it helps you, I could send you a video showing all the times in LCS. I can scroll through them with the cheat device on my PSP. Trust me on this, I know the LCS timecyc will be the best for this. With this idea, it will look realistic too.

 

As for the radio switching is concerned, I already did it.

 

Edit: @Blaster_nl: IDK about the shadows being the color that the lighting looks in the PS2 version. You should try to make the shadow lighting look like GTA III, but the rest of the timecyc looks like LCS PSP version.

No, you can't change the radio, the duration is hardcoded. tounge.gif

 

And yes, I will look at LCS as well.

The GTAIII one is boring, nobody wants a boring timecyc.

Scripts.img with Portland safehouse start location and all hospital+police re-spawns added to DB. Currently all islands are unlocked, but can be disabled using the SET_INT_STAT(STAT_ISLANDS_UNLOCKED) native. Should all islands be unlocked? Can't see why not considering there are no missions. Added a bugs.txt in bugs folder, i wanna know why the game crashes when the police cars are spawned after player gets a wanted level, this seems like an important bug to fix.

What type of scripted paths are you suggesting? The only paths on IV are vehicle paths + navmeshes + trian + carrec paths i think, it doesn't seem likely that those would cause it. (vehicle paths are loaded by the game, navmeshes are not loaded 'cos they're #'ed and the carrec paths aren't being loaded by script atm but isn't #'d)

 

Added more bug reports + pictures to bugs folder.

 

 

Edit: Ah, hold on, i might have derped.

I deleted the shorelines.dat + distantlights.dat + filelist.pak files yesterday and tested if the game starts, when it did start i thought "deleting those files is fine and bugless". I guess deleting them wasn't so bugless after all. blush.gif

Gonna re-add the three files again and see if it fixes the crash, prolly caused by shorelines 'cos the filelist+distantlights haven't caused this crash in the past when the're been deleted.

 

Edit2: Nope, added all three one-by-one and even after adding all three, the crash still happened. It seems to be happening the exact moment a cop tries to shoot me. Corrupted weapon data lines? Corrupted weapon audio? Corrupted weapon models?

Hi there, maybe it's a idea to say what you can provde for this mod?

By reading your post I kind of get the idea you can't do anything and try to get early acces

In my experience, people who can't do any modding mostly find a clever way to talk around it, too bad, that doesn't work on me.

textures n stuff i think i can retexture the streets

PS:Can you give me generic street img file or gtx.img file i do not know how it's named ,so i can retexture it and give you a sample of my work il evem give you my email so you can mail it to me.
