OT: I don't really see a need to customize cars. It's always a welcome feature, but I don't think it's necessary in WD.

Thanks for sharing bro,i just finished reading the article but yeah one of the Game's dev said we cant customise (upgrade) how cars and that baffles me a bit,cus what OWG franchise doesnt have Car Customisation System? Saints Row have Rim Jobs,GTA have Pay 'n' Spray (and LS Customs etc),Mafia has the 30s and 40s Paint Garages and i am sure Sleeping Dogs also have it own types etc.Atleast they should be some Pay 'n' Spray-Esque Shops to help evade cops or Respray our vehicles even if it not like LS Customs or Rim Jobs.I am not trying to stir anything up again (i have been warned and you can tell i have been on-topic since then) but i am just saying,hope you get what i am trying to say?

I'm very surprised you can't customize your car. Disappointing to hear that.

 

On the other hand, looking at the recommended specs, the PS4 beats it. So I think we know the PS4 can easily handle it.

Well according to 3 pages ago you wasn't looking forward to the driving physics so I doubt you're that disappointed!

 

The free running sounds ace and i'm starting to really look forward to this game again all graphics rants aside. I'm picking it up on ps4 got the vigilante and dedsec editions preordered now roll on release day.

In one of the videos it shows you the player hacking certain parking areas where you can park your car up behind gates and then exit on foot through a rear door into a shop. It also shows you a tv apb being put out in the shop that in tern makes the peds in the shop recognise you and they attempt to call the police unless you intervene.

 

Not to mention bollards that can be hacked to slow down pursuers. I think the main challenge will be escaping the helicopters!

Even with my GTX 460M, I ran Sleeping Dogs perfectly fine on high settings. People always tell me my GPU is quite weak because it's the M version but it's done good for me. I know I shouldn't expect the same level of performance as the desktop version but it's done me fine. It's a GTX 460M 1.5 GDDR5 and it seems to be enough for games like Sleeping Dogs, ACIV.

 

I know I'm about to reach the point where it won't be but next time I buy a computer, it'll be a desktop not a laptop. I only got a gaming laptop because, as previously said, I was going off to uni so I needed something with mobility.

 

Anyway, I went ahead and pre-ordered Watch Dogs on Steam for PC. I can always cancel the pre-order before release but I think I'll stick with PC rather than getting it on the PS3.

 

Hey that's good to hear. As long as the performance is to your liking then that all that matters.

Your laptop has a good CPU in it, and the 4 series are still good cards for gaming. Hopefully you can play it on high settings with good fps

The PS4 doesn't even come close to the minimum specs in terms of CPU.

In the GPU department the PS4 meets the recommended specs, but for memory it falls short of the minimum.

 

You forget that not all 8GB of memory is available to the PS4 for games. It has up to 5GB of memory for that.

 

But hey, they got this working on the PS3 and Xbox 360 so I wouldn't worry too much for the PS4 if you truly don't care for the graphics.

 

Also car customization isn't a big deal for me. If anything I'll probably be ditching cars and getting new ones without caring about keeping one and customizing it.

Having the ability to customize a car would only further to cement the "GTA Clone" mindset of some people

Yes but physics has nothing to do with customization. Since it has already been ruined, I'd rather spend my hard earned money making it look better/faster, I don't want wanna earn money, and end up spending it on nothing just like GTA IV turned out to have done. Capiche?

 

I mean it's not a game breaking thing, don't get me wrong.

Yes you will be able to keep cars then you steal or buy in the game.

In one of the podcasts they said they use several databases for NPC info to make sure the game doesn't get repetitive too fast. So they use a db for first names, another for last names and a third for the other info. Combine the random queries and you get a different outcome everytime.

Which makes me wonder what happens if you follow a ped and scan them again 5 minutes later.

I didnt hear that part,but Damn that amazing and it seems like it would SO less repetitive,like i said before WD's NPCs are what i call "Next-Gen Freaky NPCs" Lol ...I think if we follow an NPC for more than 5 minute he/she would immediate call the cops on us or Fly away like Superman/woman ( i didnt mean the 2nd one just joking) but yeah them NPCs will scare the sh*t out of me lol.

I was just saying that from what i have seen im pretty sure I saw a couple repeats of people's lives and profiles. And that one shot with the guy in the ghetto being a high earning business executive just didn't make sense to me

The way you were making it sound on the other page was unless they fix the handling in wd then it's pretty much a deal breaker for you! So I assumed if you did get wd you'd want to spend as little time in cars as possible!

 

As for money I do wonder what you can spend it on. But the smarter choice is saving it for aidens retirement.

 

Each character shouldn't be repeated to the point where the devs have said if you do find 2 people exactly the same they want to see it.

I dunno if you've watched any trailers or gameplays, but both the gameplay and story seem to be pretty good. Of course, unless we experience it ourselves, there's no proof it will actually be good.
