Technically GTA:O is a separate game. Sure it did not have the best of starts but GTA was made for SP not MP which is why it was so popular in the first place.

 

And The Crew is definitely not an arcade racer. It is more like a semi-arcade game, a mix of fun and realism and It's like the first real racing game in a good few years (GT and Forza don't count since they are exclusives). Nothing's better than taking a long drive from the East Coast to the West Coast after customizing a badass car. There are missions and obstacles you will encounter and you can smash through virtually anything.

 

I played Most Wanted 2 and I was disappointed by the game. All you are doing in the game is basically racing and that's it. No obstacles of any sort and it just got boring fast. But the crew seems like a very good game IMO let's see how it stacks up as a racing game.

This game looks great, but after doing some research it will not be as fun GTA 5.

Will this game be free roam? and online multiplayer aswell?

Yes, but the multiplayer is going to suck.

I saw the vid of the multiplayer demo at E3 last year and it looked meh, unless they spice it up a little bit, then it could be fun, who knows. Also the game took a massive graphics downgrade compared to what we saw in 2012, then again it's ubisoft we're talking about. Always showing bull shots *cough cough* Far Cry 3

Yep. But with Multiplayer, people can go into other people's game as an NPC, so it's like the game is always connected in a hidden state. It has potential.

everyone here is just truly mad that watch dogs was supposed to already be out, and it's not. GTA let you guys play the beta without calling it a beta... some game companies are just smarter than that, and would like to avoid negative attention

You seem to be confusing "arcade" for a derogatory term here, when in reality it is one of the two primary genres for racing games: arcade, and simulator. Simulators prioritize realism over everything else, whereas arcade racers prioritize speed and casual enjoyment. Popular examples of simulators would be Assetto Corsa, Project CARS, Gran Turismo, and to a lesser extent, Forza. Popular examples of arcade racers would be Need for Speed, Midnight Club, Burnout, and based on what I've seen, The Crew has far more in common with these games than it does with any of the simulator examples I listed. There's really nothing about The Crew that implies simulator to me; it is an arcade racer through and through.

Well, it will be released in the fiscal year 2014 (as Ubisoft have stated), which begins in April. But we will find out when the new trailer releases soon.

Hope that bikes and planes can FINALLY be used in the game. Heard some guy backstage said they couldn't be used a few months ago. It's ridiculous that a next gen developed game (although ported to last gen) doesn't let you use them, it's just mind f*ck.

 

Honestly, the story is intriguing which is why I still have interest in this game. Not too worried about the free roam and hope car physics are not terrible.

Yeah seems legit. They delayed it from November so I wouldn't see why it would take them that fricking long to improve it. Plus June is close to summer and it's a good time to release it. Holidays and that.

I think the initial delay was because of GTA V, they underestimated the level of detail it would have.

 

I knew the second the second they said the map was going to have more density than scale size. Which in short means its going to have more peds than GTA V but have a smaller map.

If you have negative rep, civilians will think you're a criminal, and will report you to police, but if you have good rep, more civilians will respect your actions, and will probably not call the cops when seeing you. I hope this has an impact on the police as well.

 

Bad rep will also result in the media calling you a criminal/terrorist, a neutral rep will result in the news still mentioning that you're wanted by police, but positive rep probably results in the media supporting your actions.

It was delayed so that they could polish the game. This was also the case with GTA V. The delay will result in a better game.

Yes it was a part of why they delayed it. They made a major mistake of undrmining GTA V. Now they sh*t themselves and delayed it to improve their game. I guarantee they half assed it at that time.

There was a bit in one of the trailers where Aiden rides a bike. The one where he says "they crossed a line".

I have to totally agree, Ubisoft guys sat down and played GTA V and was like......"we got work to do". It was too obvious. I just hope it was worth the wait.

If it's all for the sake of making the game better, then hat's off to Ubisoft - not many big publishers are like that. Most of them rush it as hell. But I bet it was mainly because of GTA V and AC IV.

 

Lack of flyable vehicles is quite understandable for me, won't cry because of their absence. As for the bikes - they ARE in the game. There's even a section on Watch_Dogs' wikia pertaining this kind of transportation. Unless you didn't mean motorbikes.
