GTA36362355
I don't understand what and why but it f*cking slows down my pc by using all the resources up. It becomes one big fat process in the Windows Task Manager and all I can do is end the process and have a sigh of relief that "Yo! I killed a giant." Can someone help me? How to stop it's birth at every reboot?
friendly luggage
Do you have Eset Smart security by any chance? The file seems to belong with that. The high usage isn't from a virus scan is it? Do a system virus scan.
GTA36362355
Used to have Eset Nod32 but have removed it since a year. Currently I use Quick heal which found no virus on my pc.
GTA36362355
http://systemexplorer.net/db/egoi.exe.html This site calls it a threat and offers me a free tool to check. I doubt the credibility of the website. Should I go for it? Review: HUGE memory hog. Takes around 600-800MB of my memory. that's right MB. Slows my computer very much infact opening up any program takes 10X longerAverage user rating of the file egoi.exe is 1 (1-Threat, 5-Safe). This rating is based on 1 review. ll rdny ll
If you're absolutely sure that it's not a system file. Then I would tell you to do what I do when I have suspicious things hogging my memory. Do this at your own risk. It shouldn't harm your computer if the file isn't a system file, but still. Don't blame me, if you mess something up. • Do an extensive search on the web for the file type, *It can not be stressed enough, that you need to be sure you won't f*ck something up when proceeding.* • Open Task Manager, go to processes, find the process that's sucking your memory dry. • Right Click on the process, (Open File Location) • Check again, make sure you won't hurt anything, by getting rid of it. • Make a note of where the file is, and make sure you can get to it. • Restart your computer in 'Safe Mode' • Find the file, delete the file, if it's in it's own folder, delete the folder. • Empty Recycling bin. • Restart your computer
GTA36362355
I have ended the process for this session. I'll do that the next time I reboot. Doesn't matter if the PC f*cks up. Thanks for the suggestion.

GTA36362355
Wait, there is no "Open File Location" or anything like that in the menu after Right click. Edit: I use Windows XP Service Pack 2 *at work* Edited May 31, 2012 by deepthroatgta6
ll rdny ll
Are you in services or processes. If it's not showing up in processes try using your computer's search function for the file name.
GTA36362355
Processes. Here: C:\Documents and Settings\AIM\Local Settings\Temp\System\egoi.exe Version: 6.1.7600.16385Description: Windows host process (Rundll32) Copyright: © Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved I guess I better not delete it. Edit: It can be a huge help if someone using XP can verify if their pc has this file or not. It seems to be a system file to me so... ll rdny ll
Try sending it to a zip file, and deleting the original. If the computer has some issue starting, or anything. You should be able to restore. If you have ended the process while using the computer, there's a good chance that it's nothing important.
