R* seems to be in a hurry

Responsibilities

 

    To create character animations of the highest quality and consistent to the character’s personality, design and movement style.

    The ability to meet project deadlines / milestones, as set by the Lead Animator and Production.

    Assist in the integration of animation with designers and engineers to create compelling in-game animation.

    Consistently meet project deadlines in a timely manner without compromising artistic integrity.

    To collaborate effectively with designers and other dev to understand story and mission requirements.

 

Qualifications

 

    Outstanding demo reel demonstrating strong animation ability and good aesthetic eye.

    Minimum of 3-year degree with an emphasis in character animation or equivalent work experience.

    Thorough understanding and application of classic animation principles (staging, timing, anticipation, follow through, etc.)

    Experience with motion capture.

    Professional experience developing a third person action game.

    Strong traditional animation/art background.

 

Skills

 

    Exceptional skill in animating realistic human characters.

    Fluency in one or more of the major animation packages – skills in Motionbuilder an advantage.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills allowing effective collaboration with a wide variety of project staff.

    Strong organisational, problem solving and time management skills.

 

Seems like they are gonna throw deadlines to their devs.

 

The requirements clearly show that they need animators who can understand story and mission requirements in less time and help in the integration of animation.

 

This being posted on May 8th is a strong indicator that the requirements are for GTA V.

Probably for Agent or whatever. Doesn't seem like V 'cos the mocap is most likely already done by now.

Which game is being made at R* these days which require motion capture? wink.gif

I'd say it has no indication of being GTA V related at all since their actual job site has had a Motion Capture Technician opening up for awhile. As well as a sh*t load of other openings.

Thats very interesting! This is def for GTAV. But i would like to think they should be done with character animations by now.

This can't be for GTA.

 

If it is for GTA that would mean they're no where near completion yet and may have revealed the game a bit too soon.

 

Probably Agent or some new project they're working on, Red Dead or L.A. Noire's sequel.

If this job add is for GTAV, maybe we can expect some info May 24 2013.

Nothing related to GTA V. Maybe for a new Red Dead Gamer or Agent. GTA V should be on the way of 80% or more, that includes charbcter modelling.

They have to be rushing for GTA V imo.

Why would they rush for Agent? Understanding story and mission requirements and integrating animations. Time management skills.

 

I could be wrong though.

They're boosting up their team because Take Two put them in such a f*ck with making R* delay Max Payne 3, they need to cut off about two months in development time with Agent, V, and all the other titles under R* North.

 

At least that's what I think.

If they need animators for GTAV NOW, than I wouldn't hold my breath for first half of 2013.
