How so? And GTA III had a better storyline anyway... And to say that the game that revived the series is still worse than a crappy handheld gameboy game that, mind you, is still better than Liberty City Stories.

Each GTA is a milestone it it's own way. GTA LCS was groundbreaking in the sense that it was the first 3D GTA to be completely handheld, which in 2005 was a pretty jaw dropping concept.

 

Though I will say, with today's standards, GTA III is probably the weakest 3D GTA in terms of graphics, game-play features and story-line. But I honestly can't think of any other GTA game that has felt as groundbreaking at the time of release as III did in 2001.

To be honest GTA III isn't that bad graphically. IMO SA's graphics have aged quite bad. Even when it was new it never felt like the graphics were much better than GTA III and VC.

I rather liked VCS, it seemed like Bice Vitu but with a few elements of San Andreas thrown in, and Rockstar pulled that off quite well.

The worst GTA III Era game in my opinion was well, GTA III. Now DON'T get me wrong, I think GTA III is a classic that is well-deserving of it's legacy, but playing it I can't help but feel it's dated compared to later games. LCS is like a better GTA III in my opinion, because of more weapons, vehicles, better shooting and improved engine.

Comparing LCS to other games (especially SA) is just unfair . It's psp game, you can't except it being better or as good as SA..though it's probably least favourite GTA III era game for most people. I really enjoyed LCS it has great side missions and story missions too, it's not that bad.

I really like the storyline and the characters, also all the special vehicles in it. But, on the other hand, you can't swim or fly planes (helicopters), so maybe... In my opinion GTA III is the worst (not counting Advance). The storyline is great and all, but other GTAs have so much side activities and feauters.

The storyline, soundtrack, and setting, are all great. GTA 3 is the biggest turd of the series.

After release was a great game for sometime... but then i realised just go back to san andreas.

- San Andreas

- Vice City Stories

- Vice City

- Liberty City Stories

- GTA III

 

 

I know that if it wasn't for GTA III, we wouldn't have the greater games like SA and IV but you wouldn't have the PS3 or Xbox 360 without the PS2 and that still gets a lot of bullsh*t. And my God, aren't the GTA III vehicle 'textures' ugly?

As I said before, LCS was fun and all, but San Andreas and Vice City have that special something. Then there's VCS, which was, how should I say, a good replacement for SA and VC until IV came out. In my opinion, it goes like this (from best to worst):

Advance (haven't played it yet, but I saw some videos of it and it didn't impress me)

This thread kinda makes me sad. I love LCS, and I understand I'm a minority here, but I believe it is the best from the series. It's my favorite, yes, but I do rank VC and IV higher, because they're incredible. The PSP version was great fun, the voice acting was fun, the mission were fun, Toni was funny, the cars rocked, motorcycles and helicopters in Liberty? Count me in.
