Oh, I doubt it. After everything this game had to offer for me, I consider it one of the best. Maybe not in the terms of graphics or gameplay - but the story and the Soundtrack was great. Plus, we got to see the infamous Liberty City once again.

There was a time when I hated this game - but that was due to me playing it while still being under impression from GTA III.

It's just me though...

Hell no! LCS was awesome! It was the game that made me want to buy a PSP, it was GTA on the go. I remember the first time when it came out, the first, true, GTA game that I can play anywhere I wanted. The only problem with it was the lack of a second analog stick, but that was a PSP limitation and couldn't be helped at the time.

Honestly, it was the GTA that I played the most, even topping SA. I still play this game to this day.

Wait, the Soundtrack? mercie_blink.gif

The "Mission Passed" music is the best in the whole franchise IMO.

Intro theme was epic though. But yeah everyone has different music taste. wink.gif

...Which leads to the ultimate conclusion that the most advanced is not always the best.

I agree here. Even though LCS isn't my prime favorite (GTA III is), it is a close second. For me.

You gotta love the people here comparing LCS to GTA Advance. Way to go, comparing a full-fledged 3D third-person GTA game to a 2D topdown game on a platform that's a generation older.

GTA Advance was the best they could do on that platform, and I honestly don't think it's a bad game for the Gameboy Advance. Ofcourse LCS is better, but comparing GTA Advance to GTA LCS is like comparing Chinatown Wars to GTAIV.

Anyway, excluding Advance, I'd say that GTA VCS is the worst of them all. It has a great setting, but the protagonist was a huge disappointment and VCS just doesn't have the same atmosphere as VC.

Niko or Vic? They both didn't like killing people story-wise, but gameplay-wise, they did...

Vic was more of a square then Niko, and Niko was more of a psycho then Vic.

I was led to believe that this topic was about GTA LCS being the worst game of the III era...

So maybe let's return to the original topic.

This thread kinda makes me sad. I love LCS, and I understand I'm a minority here, but I believe it is the best from the series. It's my favorite, yes, but I do rank VC and IV higher, because they're incredible. The PSP version was great fun, the voice acting was fun, the mission were fun, Toni was funny, the cars rocked, motorcycles and helicopters in Liberty? Count me in.

No man, I'm with ya one this one! LCS, I thought, was the best aswell. Toni was the most badass, evil protag in the series, the game it self was awesome, and it was the first, true mafia style themed GTA.

Although I don't currently own a copy of Vice City Stories I rater enjoyed the game when I did. It seemed like a good balance between Vice City (but without the heritage, of course) and the added features of San Andreas. The graphics were also top-notch, not technical-wise but the lighting.

Ah well, different strokes for different folks I suppose. smile.gif

Added features of San Andreas? Which ones? There were no different pieces of clothing (only "outfits"), no stats building, the only thing I can really think of is swimming.

Fighting system(not really SA feature, SA had gym moves, but this is a bit similiar), Empire buildings are also a bit similiar to SA things you acquire them just like gang territories in SA. It has a lot unique features. smile.gif

If it was a PS2 > PSP game then it would be alot of stuff to be done, but both LCS/VCS was a PSP > PS2 game so less stuff

This game is far from being the worst game in the GTA 3 era, I love it and think that Rockstar Games have done a truly amazing job at it icon14.gif

Amen.

The worst game of the III era goes to Advance. It was only published by Rockstar. Digital Eclipse are the ones who developed it. It was just an attempt of a GTA game on a Gameboy handheld console. With a limited amount of space, not much could fit into the game.

Well, just because that you unable to play a certain game it does not mean that you should hate it confused.gif

That is basically like saying you dislike something you are allergic to because you cannot eat/use it, its stupid logic whatsthat.gif

It's the worst console (only ever played it on PS2) GTA of the III era only because it didn't benefit at all from coming out after SA. I mean I still enjoy the game but it feels like it came out right after III-VC. VCS on the other hand was a great improvement or at least up there with SA in terms of quality and polish.

LSC is missing original VAs (Toni, Maria) who played decent sized roles in previous GTAs, a lot of cut-scenes for missions through out the game, swimming, graphics, and content. VSC in comparison had all of those.

But what you have to remember is that it was made for PSP (which is less technically advanced) and then ported over to PS2. It was never going to be the best console GTA...

But I agree with you about the Voice Actor thing, the others should have reprized their roles
