I hope R* still cares about quality

I hope Rockstar still cares about quality, sorry about the typo in the thread title!

I won't name the site that gave Max payne 3 a 7.6(out of then) But the negative points the reviewer made are more than justified!

Apparently the Multiplayer is better than the Single player campaign so yeah, I hope that R* doesn't focus to much on MP and still cares about quality in GTA V!

Oh yeah and mods, If you think you should lock the thread, do it but I just wouldn't understand the reason at all. I believe this is a point that fans should talk about. I mean we're not blind

It's from gametrailers.. and their reviews are mostly bad. They give every CoD over 9.0 for example.

And other sites claim that the singleplayer is way better than MP. Who is right then? It's only a matter of the personal opinion.

And what the heck is R3?

Do you realize that all your threads are pointless and all of them get locked by a mod?

Rockstar is all about quality. If they didn't care about quality, we'd see them releasing games annually like Call of Duty.

Yea but a game should be longer than 7 hours long and not beaten in one sitting, my hard money is staying in my pocket, not even mentioned the other 30 bucks for dlc, that is obsurd, you work hard, the game should be more than one sitting to be beaten imo. Not my style of a game to run and gun, and just shoot. That is just me, but just because it is R* doesnt mean they cant make a game that can get a 7.6, it is worthy of the scor,e just like GTAIV was never even close of being a 10 and we can all agree on that.

I OP am also concerned with what R* might do with the fact that they might be going the route of not adding in features, fun, interactivity for the player, instead worrying on MP, GTA is SP and always will be, all we need is a free roam of 20 friends with world open and a team deathmatch MAYBE, but we dont need anything other than a Full blown SP with everything to interact with and do.

7 hours? Hm I heard the game gets pretty hard and is a tough beat so that number might increase. I don't doubt the game will be quality cause it already looks like it is. I am not a huge Multi-Player gamer so I hope the single player is not 7 hours.

i am more concerned about rockstar's new drm system than anything regarding gameplay as far as max payne 3. that's the ONLY reason i would not pre-order...

I really hope MP3 surprises the industry like RDR did. Even I wrote that game off saying it would be useless but after playing it I was floored.

OH and why I quoted that person above.....GTA IV deserved a 20 out of 10.

GTA IV was good at first, when you saw the new graphics and physics compared to other gta's, but when you compare it to other games of it's time it still lacked in those departments and the SP gameplay was actually pretty horrible because there was nothing fun to do after you finished the story. R* always takes a huge step forward, but then they take a couple steps back.

The short sp campaign in MP3 was totally expected given that MP1 an MP2 were equally as short. The first two also launched at $50 retail with no mp, so MP3 offers equal or better value than its predecessors. Clearly the Max Payne series isn't going to appeal to everyone. It's a linear game driven by great story telling, great voice acting, great level design and precision gun play, and for a lot of people that's worth retail price.

But I don't see any reason to fear that V will have a lacking sp in favor of mp. Rockstar knows what has made their flagship title so successful and they won't betray innovation and quality for quick, easy cash.

Rockstar made some very very questionable decisions with MP3. First one is the fact that those cutscenes are visually and artistically waaay over the top and they seem to almost cause epileptic attack. Second thing is that again they want far to serious. There seems to be no Max sarcastic and funny dialog, rather grumpy and angry one. Third thing is that it took far to much time for game like MP3 to be completed, which kinda goes along with reports about mismanagement in the company. Other than that, its good game, just not up to standards of GTA and RDR.

Part of me tells me not to worry, but part of me worries. I keep saying to myself "This is not North or SD team bla bla" but it seems that R* just can't let one team do the work, but they put alot of people mixed from other studios to help the development. And that worries me...Max Payne is artistically not very good IMO, too many filters, too many visual effects that serve no purpose, and R* has always been about subtle details. We will have to wait and see...

They better release new info and start rolling GTAV hype because I'm sick of MP3 and the game isn't even officially out.

What I want to know about MP3 is why in the world it took so much time to develop it if the SP isn't even that long...

Wasn't the game originally scheduled to come out in 2009?

I must agree with some people here with this GT review...

GT has terrible reviews(Shane had a bad day xD) but there shows/articles are great.

Here is the link with other reviews and they are good so i think we don't have to worry because Rockstar is specialist who knows how to pleasure there customers/fans.

Qualitys long since gone out the window with them. Ive heard on different boards things like despite rockstar claiming that it'd be mostly soft cover and enemies would aggressively flank you, this doesn't seem to happen (maybe the latter on hard?)

not only is turtling under cover perfectly viable throughout this game without shootdodging at all, or slowmo with the purpose of precision shots before enemies can get the drop on you, it's also encouraged, especially with heavy armour boss fights

I would like R* to hire some people who don't need constant watch from N* and Housers to develop a f*cking AA SP game in span of 5 years that also pushes their best and most respected work to delays. Its f*cking frustrating how bad their management is.

Until now the only times R* has spent a tons and tons of money on ads was when the game had big development problems and/or it was bad.

Mp3 had big development problems but seems to be a solid game with nice improved gameplay. I don't like the sao paulo setting but I think it's good. Maybe it's not a masterpiece?

I can't wait to play it.

Rockstar always do some great quality games most of times and if we compare to GTA IV then the game will be a real pleasure to play since I loved IV a lot.

I don't think that they will focus so much on MP.

Of curse I hope it will be even better then in IV (th MP).

But I don't think that they will only focus only on that since GTA is on really a game based on MP.

Thing about most of these sites is that they wouldn't dare give a R* title a review score lower than 8, and always end up being around 9 regardless of how good or bad the game is. Many people have forgotten this but GameSpot was once banned for two years by Rockstar... giving them no support (previews etc.), and there's another story when GamesRadar gave another R* title a score of 6/10 (only a day later replaced with a new review scoring 9/10). It's kind of funny how they're giving Max a 10/10 now...

So you should take all of this with a grain of salt. If you want true reviews, there are good independent reviewers on YouTube.

The best, honest, accurate post in several years posted here. And it comes from one of the best previous people in charge of part of the gtaforums.

I don't look at review numbers for games. I don't mind reading reviews, but I honestly could care less about some random number.
