Crokey
It depends what you mean by Nightlife and what you look for in Nightlife. New York for example is good for Theatre, Comedy and other shows, whereas I believe Phoenix and Las Vegas have a banging dance music scene, that's if we're talking the US. If you're talking food and drink, then European Cities would be the order of the day, despite the reputation Glasgow and Edinburgh have some cracking restaurants. If you are after general hanging out and chilling with your mates, then I hear Sydney is a chill-out zone.

K^2
I've found NYC, Boston, and Chicago to be very quiet at nights. Maybe I expect too much, but Moscow is much more alive, even in the dead of winter. darthYENIK
Nothing can beat Las Vegas. New York, the city that never sleeps? Bullsh*t. In Vegas, EVERYTHING is open 24/7. It's practically a prerequisite. In Vegas there is no last call. You can sit in a bar for days, as long as you're consistently buying drinks, and not be told to leave. On top of that there are casinos, shows, parties and clubs. It's how Vegas earns it's living. The city is there for you to have fun at any time of day or night.

Outcast
Shanghai Taipei (smoking joints inside the VIP rooms, cant do that sh*t in europe. attendants also gave us warning when the cops came round calling and sprayed a sh*tload of air freshener) Hong Kong Macau (bigger than las vegas in terms of total gambling revenue) London (broke my nose in a fight outside chinawhite and then ended up in a £800/person gentleman's club covered in blood)
AlexGTAGamer
Bristol can be quite "lively" on a night (many a time I've seen first hand some of the antics drunk revelers get up to). But don't take my word on it, take it from my dad, (oldest) brother, his friend and various others who have had the privilege to be bouncers/security staff at some of the most active nightclubs in the city. WedgeAntilles
Edinburgh, Glasgow, Amsterdam and London are the cities where I've experienced awesome parties. Newcastle is not bad either! Plus Quito was pretty awesome. However all the best parties EVER have been at my house from two day raves to sumptuous dinner parties, they were and have been and will be the best. Bring on this Friday!
bread
Atlantic City has a good nightlife, only if you're on the boardwalk and at the casinos. Other than that the outlying areas are ridden with bums and lowlifes. If you're down for doing a bit of street food scavenging, Bangkok, Thailand. But then again that's coming from the travel channel so don't take my word for it.
Dingdongs
Whoever is saying NY is quiet at night has, well, not been there that often. I'm from NY and I don't think I've ever been to a place with a greater party scene. DC has a pretty weak night scene, though Boston is pretty cool. I can certainly see HK having a great nightlife, though I didn't take part in any of it when I was there. LA sucks... all the good places have gigantic lines to get in and are exclusive many times also. If you're a celebrity it probably is pretty damn fun though. I didn't really do much in Chicago but Miami has a pretty cool night life. Vegas is obviously the number one on the list probably but you need money to enjoy yourself there as someone mentioned. New York City
Also, another one that may shock you is Manchester, NH. I am near there, and have been there countless (and I mean countless) times. Day and night. For a city of 110,000 people, it has over 20 bars and clubs.

GTA_stu
If you're looking for fat girls wearing skimpy clothes with their bare flesh resembling a purple, mottled, leathery, wrinkled bag of sausages then come to the north east of the UK. They also wear high heels which kind of look like hooves, it's quite easy to confuse them for livestock. Man I had a wild night with this one girl called Bessy. She was a big girl and a bit innexperienced I think, because when I fondled her breasts she squirted milk all over me. She couldn't get comfortable either because she kept asking me to "Move", at least I think that's what she was saying, dunno couldn't understand her she had a weird accent. She smelled a bit as well so I think she was French.
Antinark
I've found NYC, Boston, and Chicago to be very quiet at nights. Maybe I expect too much, but Moscow is much more alive, even in the dead of winter. I've partied in Greenwich Village, Williamsburg, Harlem and Alphabet City and have had a good time but I agree, it's hardly the best nightlife around. In the states I would say New Orleans is the party capital, but I also had a f*cking riot in Vegas, Miami and Portland OR. But none of these can beat St. John's Newfoundland which is hands down the f*cking craziest drunkest sh*t show you will ever witness. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY drinks as much as a Newfoundlander, and the mixture of the local music, cheap beer, late last call and ridiculously friendly environment will be sure to loosen up even the tightest wallflower. And for a city of only 200,000+ they have venues that cater to every crowd. If you're ever up that way, be sure to get screeched in.
