Rpg_
f*cking Rockstar, always pissing off the most loyal fans for some extra change in their pockets. Wow. First of all, I can imagine GTAV outselling MP3 so if they wanted "extra change in their pockets" they'd release GTAV first. Secondly, GTA isn't R*'s only game. They have a huge product portfolio, catering for all types of gamers. We're just one bunch of them. I meant that the lame map packs for MP3 were some extra change in their pockets, not the game itself. I already have MP3 pre-ordered but I don't think I'll get the map packs until they release GTA V trailer #2. If more fans say the same thing then R* might just give in. I'm sticking to my word though: No MP3 DLC buy until GTAV Trailer 2 And they don't have a huge portfolio that caters to "all types of gamers". They cater to a specific set of gamers, a good percentage but definitely not everyone. Most of R*'s games are sandbox games, even Bully is a sandbox but with limits. Their upcoming portfolio will probably consist of sequels or a new game in the series to old titles they have already made like RDR, Bully, Smugglers Run, The Warriors etc..oh and we can't forget Agent! Sunrise Driver
They have a huge product portfolio, catering for all types of gamers. Lol? I don't see FPSs, RPGs, Strategies, Fightings from R*. Midnight Club. Manhunt. Table Tennis... They may not be as popular as your Grand Theft Auto's, they're still R*'s products, no? I'm aware of these games, but they aren't for ALL categories. /pedant mode.

Well, there wont be GTA V in 2012, because their logic is if they release any screenshot or info nobody wants to buy their 6 or 7 Dlc's for Maxy Pain. Just look at this article on gamespot, it will make you think twice: http://www.gamespot.com/news/max-payne-3-3...etailed-6374423 Now if they want to sell all of this Dlc's, they must put MP3 in spotlight. It would be most likely that they would delay GTAV for 2013, because if people see anything about GTAV, they would easily forget about those MP3 DLC's and GTAV multiplayer will be same or better than MP3 so nobody would bother to buy DLC's if GTA will be released in 2012. Racecarlock
That's it, I'm calling it. GTA V is officially vaporware again. We might not see this game for another 12 years. Just like DNF. Hooray.
jnzooger
This isn't the first time they did the DLC this way. This is exactly the same as what they did with LA Noire. If you get the Rockstar Pass, you are paying about what you would pay for a normal DLC map pack anyway. Halo has done this for years without giving you the option to only download the maps you want. GTA will be different no matter what. They can't do it this way. The multiplayer doesn't take place in "maps" it is on the main game map. So quit your worrying, this doesn't effect GTA DLC at all. Simon_V
Hope R* will release at least 1 Story DLC(Mona Sax), I don't need Multiplayer DLC. On-Topic: Grand Theft Auto V doesn't need a Multiplayer DLC(f*ck that). They have to do the same thing as they did with IV... 2 Story DLCs and it's called Episodes From Los Santos. sublimelabs
Also, there shouldn't be any worrying since Rockstar has a track record of offering the most for your money in the vanilla game. To think GTA V is 'gone', that's silly. Soon we'll be getting a treatment similar to Max Payne 3 at the moment. In only two weeks, Max Payne 3 will be in stores. There will then be a week or two of Rockstar linking reviews/impressions of the game. Eventually, once all versions of the game are released, there won't be much to feature on the newswire. It's GTA V's turn. The Max Payne 3 multiplayer events keep people busy. It's the newest Rockstar game with multiplayer, so Rockstar plays with the fans while GTA V information gradually comes in. Then at some point a trailer for Bully 2 is released and that's the next game people get excited and anxious for. GTA V is close to release and people want more Bully 2 information. I know a trailer for Agent is more likely. Don't kill my dreams.

dont_feed_the_troll
Permission to swear and butthurt........thanks. THIS IS F**KING RETARDED BULLF**K. Multiplayer is f**king butchered to pieces. They aren't adding anything new, they are for sure cutting it from the game. If they do this for GTA V then it'll be f**king disaster and I'll be very mad. Unlike MP3, I care a lot about GTA V MP and want it intact and full on release day. So we only get a demo of the multiplayer when we buy the game? Exactly my thoughts. That's why it's only 0.5 disks on X360. P.S. Yes it's GTA V i'm worrying about. If we had guarantees that GTA 5 would be like GTA 4 and MCLA, not like MP3, RDR, LAN, then I wouldn't give a damn about Max Gayne 3 DLCs. Game is about singleplayer and Max story anyway, not about BOPE-gangsters fights in MP. u mad bro

Chukkles
GTA V isn't a shooter Neither was LA Noire, but that got weapon and costume dlc's just like MP3 will and most likely GTA5. LAN also had seperate mission(cases) DLC's, maybe something similar could happen in V, rather than entire new stories, we download extra missions that can fill in some blanks in betwwen already existing missions that we can play on later playthroughs. interpolfan11
To be honest, I'd rather V DLC consist of a bunch of competitive map packs I'll never play than substantial content that should have been in the original game. I had to buy TBOGT for parachutes, tanks, and more guns, even though I couldn't care less for the short, non-immerisve story and protagonist. TLAD was even worse--a whole big DLC just so I can shoot a shotgun off a bike? If R* wanted to f*ck me, I'd rather have it go down paying $4.99 for a new weapons set than $19.99 for a new weapons set and story/protag I couldn't care less about. The fact that the new features and elements in the Episodes were not integrated into the vanilla game was a major FAIL on R*'s part. I'm glad MP3's DLC won't be something I'll miss. Still, I fear for V. I agree. Sign me up for content-based DLC, as R* has shown that it's "mini story" based DLCs are not worth purchasing. After initially purchasing TLAD and TBOGT, I was ecstatic. The idea of diving into two immersive storylines along with the addition of new features made me think that R* had created the greatest DLC bundle imaginable. Unfortunately, all I had truly bought are half-assed and deeply flawed products. To my surprise, both stories were short and shallow, and I eventually came to the realization that I had simply bought TBOGT for parachutes and new weapons. TLAD meanwhile, well I can't even come up with an excuse of why I bought it other than it featuring a slightly better storyline than TBOGT. Ultimately, I feel like by taking what was probably five minutes of their time to write a couple underwhelming stories, R* had conveniently devised a way to charge $19.99 for DLC versus $4.99. Bravo, R*, bravo...

Miss Darko
^ Wait, when did people start considering GTA V vaporware? R* can go for a rather long time not saying anything about a game. So far, we've seen one, really detailed trailer with what looks like a near-finished product, although it may very well not have been. However, it's well into development, it even has voice acting in. We've had a long silence since then, but that's due to R*'s desire to keep MP3 in the spotlight. After MP3 comes out, even if it's a month or two after, I guarantee we'll start seeing stuff on GTA V. It will have a full-fledged marketing campaign that starts this year, if the game doesn't come out this year. It might also get delayed, that happens often, but it won't be delayed for an entire year or several years; it'll be for several months. But that doesn't even push it to 2014. Jeeze, it this all it really takes to make people start honestly thinking a GTA game could ever possibly be vaporware? MrcTOtheJ
Yeah while I’m not to interested in MP3’s multiplayer (unless I have better internet by the time I get it and play it heavily), this dose make me worried if Rockstar is going to go down the “Dark Side” of DLC like CoD and it’s $20 map packs or something, I mean what they did for GTAIV(exclusivity deals aside), MCLA, and RDR was great, but now with this, it seems like they might do that for V, I hope not but who knows. God it seems like the only people doing good expansions pack style DLC is Bethesda and Obsidian, with Oblivion’s DLC (minus Horse armor) Fallout 3, and New Vegas. Hopefully we still get Quality DLC with GTAV. Though I don’t think Max Payne DLC will have any effect on the release of GTAV info, or GTAV it’s self, it DLC, not a full fledged game. cherrycola
RDR DLCs was the same crap as MP3 DLCs, only there're were less of them. But it wasn't announced before the game was out. I think they do it this way so reviewers will keep in mind that there's more coming soon, so if they find the MP to be lacking they will still give it a 9 or a 10. This DLC business isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there's just no way of knowing whether the content was removed from the game to be sold as DLC, or if it was developed alongside/afterwards. We just have to take their word for it. I hope this doesn't happen to GTA V.
