The__Phoenix
GTA V isn't a shooter this is not a reason for not have dlc en gta v,saints row 3 is a sand box and have a lot of f*cking dlc´s.The key is the quality and the examples to be followed are gta IV and RDR,only one or two dlc´s but really good. Obviously we will have dlc´s inspired in gta IV model,ie two big and great dlc´s. For me this is enough.
ajrunke
My only issue is that it fragments the muliplayer community. As with RDR, R* released a ton of free content which was great, however; it just made the multiplayer a mess. There were so many modes, variations of modes...it was just too much of a cluster f*ck. Irisframe
DLC is a cancerous defilement within the whole industry. It's not going anywhere, and it can only get worse. R*'s original DLC path was brilliant. It was great value and honest. It looks like they're going the same putrid way as all the other major studios though... In theory it could be stopped by wide-spread boycotting, but people just don't know what's best for themselves, and will willingly buy into this type of convalescence. I just couldn't agree with you more. they designed a brilliant path with GTAIV and RDR DLC. But in L.A. Noire they started to make this so beautifully called "cancerous defilement within whole industry" L.A noire DLC wasn't something new. It was the actual game split into parts and then released so we paid extra for it. I would even preffer to pay 80 or 90€ (not so sure though) for something serious and COMPLETE for #?%&shake. I can only hope GTAV doesn't use this kind of strattegy. It's so putrid as you say. Only thinking about this. MAXPAYNE special edition 147€+rockstar pass 29.99€=176.99€. People better find a lot more love in the franchise than in their families to justify that amount of money. i don't know how much would a CoD fan pay for elite but that is insane. Max Payne is a well-known franchise. I have enjoyed it since I was a Kid but I'm not going to tolerate this prices. If ever, I'd buy the game for the single player campaing as it was first designed for Max Payne 1. The thing is, as much as I love GTA franchise, I would be highly offended if the same thing happened to GTAV as I would love to have all the content from day 1 for the real price of a game. I understand the developement of such a game has become a lot more expensive than it used to be, but it also rewards them with a lot more millions. If they get that greddy, they can have all their DLC where they can store it. I'll get the single game and forget about the other content (as much as it hurts me) and then start to forget about this new sickening-game-whirl where a game never seems to have reached a consumer in it's full completion. GR7
What I find interesting about it is the DLC ends within fall 12, it seems like they're getting it out of the way fast enough so people can begin focusing on GTAV's multiplayer and possible season pass just in time for the rumoured october release. Dick Valor
To be honest, I'd rather V DLC consist of a bunch of competitive map packs I'll never play than substantial content that should have been in the original game. I had to buy TBOGT for parachutes, tanks, and more guns, even though I couldn't care less for the short, non-immerisve story and protagonist. TLAD was even worse--a whole big DLC just so I can shoot a shotgun off a bike? If R* wanted to f*ck me, I'd rather have it go down paying $4.99 for a new weapons set than $19.99 for a new weapons set and story/protag I couldn't care less about. The fact that the new features and elements in the Episodes were not integrated into the vanilla game was a major FAIL on R*'s part. I'm glad MP3's DLC won't be something I'll miss. Still, I fear for V.
Zee
Hahaha! Having a good laugh at all the Max Gayne fanboys who will be happily paying more $$$ for basic features, just like GTAIV (parachutes anyone?) all to support the Housers whiskey habits. It's a brilliant scheme, really. I'm guessing this is going to be R* excuse for putting lame duck DLC info on the newswire instead of GTA info. MP3 dlc will not delay any information about gta v or of course the release date. actually we don´t even know if the MP3 delay will delay the release date of the game, maybe gta v will be launch in the original date that R* had planned before the mp3 delay. sublimelabs
"Max Gayne"? Seriously? You people are pathetic. If you implement the word 'gay' as a way to be insulting, that makes you seem like an ignorant kid. Max Payne was meant to have multiplayer in the first place, but there weren't enough resources to make it happen. Max Payne 3 actually has a lot of depth compared to other contemporary shooters. There is a lot of customization, like an RPG brought to competitive multiplayer. Most of all, it looks fun. This DLC was inevitable. In lack of a better comparison, look at Call of Duty. I'm not suggesting that Max Payne's single-player will be three hours long and/or nonsensical, but it's clear that Rockstar wants people to get a taste of their seemingly fresh competitive/co-op gaming. There are going to be some people who look at the recent TV ad and pick this game up. They see multiplayer, try it out, and get hooked. There is probably going to be a lot of buyers who ignore the single-player campaign completely, sadly, but either way people are playing Max Payne 3. At least it's off-disc content and the game itself is pretty much finished. Single-player DLCs for GTA V would be nice, though I'd be happy with packs like RDR that benefit both single-player and multiplayer in some way. You have the choice to not buy anything, so you shouldn't be complaining. Edited May 1, 2012 by sublimelabs
Zee
Except for the fact that multiplayer will be demo-only and you have to pay to play multi. That's just not cool.
sublimelabs
Except for the fact that multiplayer will be demo-only and you have to pay to play multi. That's just not cool. Quit exaggerating. The multiplayer is complete. These DLC map packs aren't even finished yet. You can't please everybody. Like it or not, people enjoy multiplayer gaming and will most likely eat this up. Rockstar is a company, and that is their intention.

Rpg_
I have a strong feeling that Max Payne 3 DLC stuff on the newswire is a little plan to keep us busy until November for GTA V news. I'm starting to doubt that we are going to get ANY GTA V info until November. Don't get your hopes up for May or June....now we have to wait til November. StellarFish20
f*cking Rockstar, always pissing off the most loyal fans for some extra change in their pockets. Wow. First of all, I can imagine GTAV outselling MP3 so if they wanted "extra change in their pockets" they'd release GTAV first. Secondly, GTA isn't R*'s only game. They have a huge product portfolio, catering for all types of gamers. We're just one bunch of them.

Zee
I don't know about these theories stating mp3 DLC will delay gtaV info. We even headed from the horses mouth that they'll release new info after mp3 is out. But to delay info all year and release gtaV in 2013? I seriously doubt R* would be THAT bad. And that's coming from me.

If the tables were turned, and this was a site about Max Payne, but with GTA V getting all of the new info instead, you'd probably hear the exact same things in the opposite direction.
