Oh man this is great, nice work DK, it was worth the wait.

 

Btw do you plan on updating/fixing your Shadow Settings Extender mod as well? Would be really cool to have the shadows from VCS:PC in SA.

Is it possible to remove that smoke on the muzzleflash? It looks weird how it's moving with the weapon's motion.

This smoke is a part of a particle itself. It'll require fxp editing.

Dk, thanks for the fixes from older version but right now I have noted these bugs :

.) Silenced Pistol have Sprites at a lower angle and the heat (sprite) bends at X axis when looking left or right after aiming.

.)All the shotguns sprites are also rendered at X axis instead of z.

.)Miniguns' heat sprite (the bright one) also bends at X axis when looking left or right after aiming.

.) Please add the moonphases.dat/ini so that we can reduce the size of the moon

 

Well I was able to edit the lens flares though added the older ones that I used but still have some bugs related to lensflares.dat.

I know it's a test version, but i have a issue with the flash, it's too far from the tip of the canon. And doesn't move properly when i shoot.

This mod is just plain awesome...using it in 2019.....I just wish there is also an effect like a headshot effect when done on the body of the target (like severed limbs, etc.)

When I add just IMFX, nothing changes (added to modloader), however when I do Overdose Effects alone OR with your mod, my game crashes when I move.

 

Is this a modloader thing or something else?

Don't place imfx folder in modloader, just put it in the root folder (doesn't replace anything anyway).

So I place imfx there, both in the main folder and everything in the main folder to see if either changes anything, but no I don't see any change in effects.

 

imfx does say it needs overdose effects and that crashed the game if put in modloader, so I put it in GTA san andreas and no special effects as a main folder there, so I take the contents out of Overdose effects and try to place them at root but then it says it will replace files.

 

What exactly am I doing wrong here?

Alright I cracked, I did it, I manually replaced the files from Overdose Effects V1.5

 

Both effects files in models, and the object and surfino files in data. At first I just did models since my testing showed the effects files alone caused crashes when placed in modloader, but when the game crashed after placing the effects files in the root models folder and deleting the models older in overdose effects in modloader, I decided to manually change the data files too which then meant there was nothing left of the overdose effects folder so I deleted that from modloader.

 

Modloader doesn't work, and my human manual intervention didn't work.

 

Is OverdoseEffects just broken? Maybe it doesn't like Cleo 4? 

 

The forum post says in order for imfx to work properly, I need overdose effects installed, but I can't seen to get that thing figured out.

 

Luckily I saved the files I replaced so I'm not totally rekt here.

IMFX does not require Overdose Effects, rather the other way around.

 

Placing IMFX folder in root folder together with IMFX.asi should work properly.

 

A bunch of other effects mods also use the IMFX system as well.

Okay so I learned that the downgrader I used, which also updated itself so I had the newest version of the downgrader, still did not have modloader and maybe other mods up to date, meaning the gui improvement mod that it added might have been outdated as that for some reason had effectsPC file in it which broke effects in modloader, so deleting that allowed me to get effects mods running.

 

The first post by OP himself on IMFX this thread stated "This mod requires Overdose Effects version 1.5 (or higher) I tested overdose without imfx and it worked just fine, but when I tried imfx without overdose the explosions and muzzle flash were exactly the same as the original game.

 

And of course modloader seems to work with imfx and overdose as long as your GUI improvement mod doesn't have the effects file in it.

 

Edit: I can't seem to find the IMFX.asi... Is it located the source, resources, project_files, or custom_build folders? Do I just delete the .gitignore and .gitattributes files?
