How would you like it if people NPC's could steal vehicles from us? Perhaps not frequently, but maybe every once in awhile. What sort of techniques could be used to help prevent your vehicles from getting stolen? Or would this be too much? Share your thoughts, please. Most cars in Liberty City from IV were unlocked, and if the keys weren't in the ignition, Niko Bellic could hot wire the car in about 2 seconds flat. Good topic. By the way, sometimes, when you take a taxi cab or some civilian vehicles, the owner will rightfully pull you out of the car, as you did him or her. RockStar can and already has scripts for this. Yea, this was heavily featured in III, VC and SA but not so much in IV. You couldn't leave your car for 10 seconds on grove street without it getting jacked, it was frustrating but funny at the same time. The NPC that did it was the same one that sold drugs, he had a purple shirt and a high top fade. I can count a couple occasions when that same pedestrian would sneak into my garage when it was open and try to steal my car, only ending in me killing him. I noticed that you couldn't normally pull a cop out of their vehicle (it was locked, but then you could steal i.t after they got out to arrest you). In IV, btw. Racecarlock Posted April 30, 2012 Share Posted April 30, 2012 This was in VC, and while it was funny to spawn a bunch of cars with cheats then watch them get stolen, it was also pretty frustrating to be sitting on the side of the road trying to listen to VCPR, then suddenly having someone pull me out and take my car. Rauland Posted April 30, 2012 Share Posted April 30, 2012 car jacking should occur with the right context, for example if you take a fancy car into a dangerous area then your chances of being jacked should be through the roof. If you take a crappy old car no one should touch you. I think that will help you feel the maps dangerous areas, knowing you should avoid them or not stop at them unless you want to take the rest of being jacked, that is if you have a fancy car. OT: Sure, it would make the city more "alive" if you felt like you weren't the only petty criminal in the city. I would steal a banshee from a dealership, drive ascross the street to 8-balls, get it rigged with explosives and wait for the guy to go for the door and as soon as he went for it you pressed the button to blow him up and watched him drive a block away, just to explode seconds later. Lol, yup. I love those guys. You can spot them from a mile away, and you know exactly what they're up to. They'll be like across the street at a major intersection and as soon as you pull up, they'll start slowly walking up to your car, they're so obvious.
