gmcb007
Butthurt Xbox fanboys just can't accept the truth. Alan Wake. In early February Remedy reported AW was 1 mln copies sold. In mid-April that number was 2 mln. So PC version did 1 mln only in 2 month while X360 version did 1 mln in 21 months. And that's your precious exclusive shooter. GTA V is multiplatform with majority of fan base on PC and PS consoles. Heck the reason people were buying GTA 4 for X360 - "forever exclusive DLC for X360". That won't fly anymore. "If you don't like the facts, claim fanboyism". No it's not the case of denying facts, it's the fact that you are always trying to say something negative against the Xbox, it's games and it's users at every f*cking chance. "Butthurt Xbox fanboys.." That there, is the words of an immature troll who actually has raw hatred for an electronic item. You my friend, are a sad indvidual. So do us all a favour and f*ck off to a website that is dedicated to flame wars.

jnzooger
Well, that was Rockstar, and their behavior before announcing GTA V, was a preparation for a big surprise for GTA players. They were dealing with a fanbase, so it's not correct to compare this to Take2's official business statements about their relationship with other companies or their future plans. If they had something in development for Wii U at that time, they wouldn't have said that they will be looking into it, bur rather they would have said that they have plans for it, but they're not ready to announce them, or they would have kept silent regarding their situation with Wii U development. All they had to do, was to say that they have a good relationship with Nintendo, and they're excited about Wii U. I really don't understand why you are fighting this so hard? Do you really not want to see a GTA on the Wii U that badly? 100% serious here. There is no reason for them not to do it, and I'm not saying they will for sure, but you seem to be dead set on saying it won't happen just because it hasn't been announced as happening. (Even though the PS3, 360, and PC versions also haven't been announced yet either. All we have is that there is a GTA V version and that it looks just slightly better than GTA BoGT.) Jabalous
I'm not against the idea of giving Wii U its own GTA V version, even if it will look better than PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, but jnzooger's first post seems to be full of confidence that GTA V is heading to Wii U. I just wanted to share the fact that until January 2011, Take2 wasn't having plans already made for it, which makes it less likely to see a GTA V version dedicatedly developed for it

Talk about maturity from Xbox side. Frankly dude, you aren't one to be talking about maturity from your posts in this thread alone... http://spong.com/article/17386/GTA-IV-Sale...er-Xbox-and-PS3 360 and PS3 each had about 1/2 of the console version market at last check http://www.shacknews.com/article/56495/wee...les-grand-theft And the PC version constantly failed to chart on sales data (To be fair, Digital Download isn't tracked) Now, what happened to your out of every 10 copies comment? Looks like after actually doing the research, the real conclusion is more like 4 copies for 360, 4 copies for PS3, and 2 copies for PC, or when you count Digital Distribution, 3.5 copies for 360, 3.5 copies for PS3, and 3 copies for PC. How about backing up your fanaticism next time? I'm not against the idea of giving Wii U its own GTA V version, even if it will look better than PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, but jnzooger's first post seems to be full of confidence that GTA V is heading to Wii U. I just wanted to share the fact that until January 2011, Take2 wasn't having plans already made for it, which makes it less likely to see a GTA V version dedicatedly developed for it My first post was a confidence based on a likely scenario, yes, for if that is the case, that would very likely be the reasoning. However, saying that they didn't have plans until 2011 for the Wii U as fact is exactly the same thing you are accusing me of doing. We all know that game companies do not divulge very many details of anything they are doing until the very last minute. Saying in 2011 that they are looking at the Wii U means "We've had the development console for quite a while now and we have ported our engines to it already," at the very least. And seeing as RAGE is a multiplatform engine from the start, they may be making one version of GTA V and then just running it on the RAGE for a specific console. (Kind of like how JAVA applications are platform independent and rely on the JAVA core to translate everything to the specific system.) Based on this, all that would be left to do after one single development would be to tweak a few things for each system. (Higher res textures on PC, Touchscreen maps and phone on Wii U, SIXAXIS controls on PS3, and Kinect integration on 360 are all possibilities for example.) jesusismyairbag
They probably figured it was self explanatory based off of the looks, and the fact that no next gen consoles have really been announced what so ever. Basically R* played the logic card. That or less logically they have timed exclusivity deals that they don't want to though out there, but I highly doubt that. this. there's gotta be something wrong with you if cant work it out. Your posts seem to knock xbox users, you talk about fanboyism and immaturity? I smell hypocrisy. I have no hard feelings to the other console whatsoever. I play on the one i own, and i am strongly opposed to console exclusive games. I think it was unfair for EFLC to have the xbox exclusivity to begin with, and i hope it's not done again. Sunrise Driver
Seriously? You trust NPD and VGChartz? They don't count sales outside USA and they don't count digital PC sales. Pls don't bring that insulting "source" anymore. Like I already explained - "exclusive" DLCs were the only reason of good sales of GTA 4 on X360. Before GTA 4, correlation (PS2:Xbox) was around 12:1. So almost the same will be this time. it's not fanboyism, just simple analysis. Edited May 1, 2012 by Street Mix

And if you had even read it, you would see that they talk about international sales, and that I talked about Digital Distribution. How about you bring any source? There is a link on that site to the official word from Rockstar themselves. I only had to search Google to find HUNDREDS of pages with that same exact link. PS3 and 360 sales ARE 50/50, and NA vs International sales are 50/50, get over it. And before the DLC went nonexclusive, sales were only 2:1 (360:PS3) according to Microsoft anyway. Simple analysis would be actually doing the research, not making guesses.
Sunrise Driver
OK let's pretend I trust VGChartz: GTA 3 PS2 - 13 mln http://www.vgchartz.com/game/891/grand-theft-auto-iii/ GTA 3 Xbox - no data but surely it's not even 3 mln. GTA VC PS2 - 16 mln http://www.vgchartz.com/game/896/grand-theft-auto-vice-city/ GTA 3 Xbox - no data but surely it's not even 3 mln. GTASA PS2 - 21 mln http://www.vgchartz.com/game/3427/grand-th...to-san-andreas/ GTASA Xbox - 2 mln http://www.vgchartz.com/game/894/grand-the...to-san-andreas/ ~10:1 GTA Stories - not on Xbox at all. So that's it. Since tricks with pseudoexclusivity won't work anymore, sales will be the same as they were in III era. Heck same would be with GTA 4 if M$ wouldn't pay for DLC. 50/50 is only for new IPs or titles that were simultaneous (day one PS2/Xbox) in 6th generation. jnzooger
1: I never said to trust VGChartz. (I've never even been there before just now.) 2: You don't take into account the Double and Trilogy packs at all in those numbers. 3: The Xbox releases came AFTER the PS2 exclusivity was over and everyone and their mother had already played the games. (Same issue with GTA IV PC.) 4: There were far more PS2s in the world than Xboxs. 5: And this is the big one: We aren't talking about the PS2/Xbox era GTAs here. GTA IV... which had a simultaneous release on both 360 and PS3 had a market share of 2:1 according to Microsoft just after launch. After the DLC came to both platforms, it leveled out to a 1:1 share in the North America region and a 1:1 NA to International share as well. This is DIRECT from Take2's mouth. If this had ANYTHING to do with DLC, you would see those numbers flip, not level out. There is a fairly even number of PS3s and 360s out in the wild right now. There are an even number of GTA players on both consoles. They will sell about 1:1 again. There is no doubt about this. And frankly, I'm done with your pseudoanalysis. You are clearly just in it to attack one console with outdated seudofacts that have nothing to do with the topic at hand. You'd make a great politician, other than the fact that you don't know when to bow out gracefully. Edited May 1, 2012 by jnzooger
Freezer89
Why? I mean based on the Trailer it's obvious that it is current gen so they could have at least confirmed that. What is the reason behind it in your opinion? The same reason why no more info than the trailer was posted since the announcement and the trailer. Rockstar is usually always very secretive, you should know that. It could be really a Wii-U launch title (aside from the other platforms)

AtomicPunk
It is odd that platforms aren't confirmed. I'd like to see R* build it on PS3 personally, so that we can get more of everything, then port it to Xbox and downsize everything. WiiU would never headline with a game like GTA. I just don't see it. It will be Mario, Zelda, and all of the other games that they have ruined since the Wii came out. R* said that this was the big one so I just don't see how it will fit on DVD format, if it is truly 'the big one'. I don't care what it's on, just release the damn thing already!
