Can't understand gta 4 haters

I read alot of posts with people dissing gta 4 and I just don't get it. The game was like a movie and has entertained me for years. People complain about the grit and realism but that's what I loved and what made it so immersive. It was the best game ever made on release and gta 5 will be too, that's what rockstar does. Those of you who want a less serious zany pile of sh*t go buy saints row, GTA is king! Oh and one more thing the ghetto was the best thing about SA

yeah. I never understood why people hate IV, as for me i love GTA IV its my 2nd favourite game in the series, it was a true masterpiece and i still play it (and enjoy it) to this day, hopefully GTA V will be a mix between IV and San andreas as both were awesome

I don't hate it, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed SA and VC.

GTA IV gets boring in my opinion, it offers nothing to do apart from drive around and kill people. Literally no other criminal activity to take part in, they took out import / export, house robberies among other things, they took out side missions like ambulance, fire truck missions etc. Gave us taxi missions then took them away after a while, gave us drug dealing then took that away after a certain amount of missions. I did enjoy the police missions, glad they stayed. They didn't include anything new either though which annoyed me. don't get me wrong its a fun game and i still play it every now and then but to me it was a disappointment.

 

EDIT : Options like drug dealing could have been executed in such a better way then just simple side missions also. i also wanted country side.

GTA:IV was a great game, but I personally liked the replay value and diversity of San Andreas more.

It's a great game, but it could have been better. It feels like this era's equivalent of GTA III to me.
