Will GTA V have the ''Gangsta Style'' Like in SA.

I can see the gangs working like how they did in IV, there but not featured front and center. You could find them in their own custom cars and antagonize them into gunfights with the cops (much easier to do in the Russians territory since they were everywhere.) I'd love it if they had just one overtly "Gangsta Style" character that would emulate the early 90's gangsta steez to a T but was clearly born in the mid 90's. It sounds funny in my head trust me.

In reality, 'gangstas' with an 'a' at the end don't run sh*t in the criminal underworld. They don't earn much respect with the those at the higher realms of crime either. Hate to say it, but these tattooed thugs we see with the pants hanging off their asses in inner city ghettos are simply human shields for bullets and jail time insulating the higher-ups from the same fate. Many are just too ignorant to know it.

 

As for a black protag. I would love to see one soon. Especially one that wasn't the stereotypical vernacular speaking thug. Maybe a college educated guy or military veteran like Vic Vance who has the street smarts and the book smarts to be a real threat.

100% agree with the OP I doubt street gangs will have the impact they did in SA but at the same time they definitely shouldn't be absent. Maybe they'll focus instead on organized crime.

Some people on these forums have an unexplained hard on for the Mafia as if they're anti-heroes or something. They're just as ruthless and savage as the next street guy they just hide it better because the nature of their business. I don't think this game will be "gangsta" themed, I think gangbangers will probably play a moderate to major role but won't be the center of the story at all. helping cartels just for $==>getting backstabbed like in every GTA==>hurting the cartels with revenge==>the option of cashing into or out of the ever existing drug trade at the end of the story. I would cash in ultimately helping if I had the choice.

The "gangsta style" probably will return from San Andreas, but probably won't play a major role. If South Central is replicated in the game, I expect to see some sort of gang culture within the area.

I'm sure there will be gangs in GTA V but i dont think the story will be very focused around them like it was in San andreas, they will still have some impact in the story though

Why would there be gangs? Gang life really became prevelant in the 1990's, which is why san andreas was during that time. But just because its in Los Santos doesnt mean there will be a gang focus again. They said it will be focused on the "Pursuit of the almighty dollar" or something like that right? I definitely dont mean to hate or anything like that, just saying my opinoin.

 

And the reason there wasnt a san andreas stories was because of the half hour mini movie released with the special edition of the game that explained the events leading up to san andreas.

Actually, what I'd like to see is an LA Based biker gang, Rockstar shown how they could handle it with The Lost and Damned but expand that to Los Santos with a larger chapter who don't back stab each other and have built themselves up as a major gang who help and supply/work with other gangs, basically, SAMCRO.
