friendly luggage
Intel motherboard sockets never seem to stay around that long either grrrrr.
yoječ
Allegedly, Intel's new strategy is to make every socket last two generations (LGA1155 - Sandy and Ivy Bridge, LGA2011 - Sandy and Ivy Bridge-E, LGA1150 - Haswell and Broadwell, etc.).
unc13bud
Sorry but 1024x768 is an AWFUL resolution to play at for the most part so to compare it to even a GTX 285 or 460 or 465 is just, not right. awww. did you lose sleep?! take some alka seltzer next time. i LOVE building low-power gta IV machines. i am taking the Llano home tomorrow to the parents' house to play the vigilante missions. try that with your uber watercooled machines that take a day just to move to the other side of the house, let alone 300 miles... Prometheus
You know, I can get a laptop to play IV much better than any Llano PC with LESS power AND play Vigilante missions at ANY house. I know right?
unc13bud
you fell for it! yah, i guess so... but could you get the Llano-beating laptop for $250 or less? that is what i paid for my Llano machine (CPU/DDR3 8GB/MB - and the price has fallen - with microcenter deals, you can build the same for $140 or less)... and I can take the parts (hard drive/optical/power supply) and swap them around/reuse them in other machines

mkey82
I don't understand why people insist on the benchmark tool, from my experience ingame performance is about 25% worse while it's not even taking lag and stutter into account.
unc13bud
1. because ignoring the benchmarks means just taking people's subjective opinions for as correct, when they could be just anecdotes 2. when I POST BENCHMARKS, THE BENCHMARK DEFINITELY RAN AT THOSE FRAMES. i don't have to lie. yoječ
But the framerate the benchmark ran at is rather meaningless. I mean - my PC gets stable 60FPS in benchmark, while in game the framerate is half as high... barely.

mkey82
Please, run some FPS benchmarks with fraps while actually PLAYING the game (run around, shoot people, cause havoc) for about 10 minutes and post the results here. Or just shut your cake hole.
