Davis202
In the past Grand Theft Auto games, the protagonist would spawn infront of the hospital when he dies. Will this feature be in GTAV? or will the game just focus on realism? If GTAV were to be realistic and remove the feature, what would be the replacement? xNewtype Acex
If GTAV were to be realistic and remove the feature, what would be the replacement? Your save game is deleted and you have to start over. In all seriousness though, this is one aspect of the game that won't change. gotb00st86
the hospital spawning is just fine how much more real do you want I sware people are getting carried away with the realism ideas
EscoLehGo
I don't see a logical replacement that would add to the gameplay, should we sit in the hospital and play mini games to get better? Perhaps go through some physical therapy to regain the use of our limbs and pay nurses for sex? I don't see the hospital spawning going anywhere, it should stay the same
Gifbrah
The only logical solution I see to this is to make a virtual model of Davis202's bedroom in GTA, so that when we respawn, we can beat the living sh*t out of him for making such a thread. JOSEPH X
I'd go the whole realism route, and respawn at the cemetery when you die.
SmC12
LOL you can't really replace it, spawning at the hospital is realistic. What are we supposed to do? Just get up off the ground where we died and walk away? Maybe we'll spawn inside the hospital, but either way it's going to be around a hospital. funkybub
I think if you die, all the game files are deleted and you have to buy a new game.

cp1dell
This is so f*cking stupid. GTA IV had realistic elements (yes, elements because it isn't 100% realistic, stop bitching about realism). GTA IV and V's realism will most likely be on par with each other, so there will be no change in respawning. You will always spawn outside the hospital, get your head out of your ass. You guys are really scraping the barrel for topics now.
1whitebuddah
ROCKSTAR ARE NOT HEADING IN A f*ckING REALISM DIRECTION, SERIOUSLY THEY DO NOT WANT TO MAKE THERE GAMES REALISTIC. IVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT WHOEVER THINKS ROCKSTAR WANT COMPLETE REALISM ARE LITTLE KIDS OR RETARDS
Magic_Al
There's a difference between increasing realism and increasing immersiveness. GTA games have gradually gotten better detail, physics, character behavior, and sound, but it's to make everything feel more intense and vivid, not necessarily to be more logical. I don't see a consistent gameplay mechanic changing without a good reason.
MrcTOtheJ
I see no reason to change it, it's tradition, and there's no real reason to changed a gameplay mechanic that works just fine.
thatstupidbug
there's a better, realistic way: if your character die, you die, so there's no need to respawn at all seriously, how realistic do you want a game? wake up in the hospital, wait 2-3 day before leaving your bed for the first time, then 1 week to recover from the injury, then another 1-2 days to be sure you have no other problems, then 1 to 3 months of phyosiotherapy... only to be hit again by a f****ng taxi after two mintues and start all over again Edited April 28, 2012 by thatstupidbug
EscoLehGo
there's a better, realistic way: if your character die, you die, so there's no need to respawn at all They should make it where you have to sign a suicide pact before you can start the game that states when your character dies you have to die as well, maybe the game could come with a cyanide pill for convenience
Racecarlock
Well, I don't know at this point. People want me to hang around in jail for an hour every time I get busted, so who knows? Maybe you'll have to spend to hours in a hospital every time you jump off a building. Or maybe it'll auto load your last save. Who knows? People want stock management in the game as well as hunger to return and a fuel system to be introduced, so at this point I just don't give a f*ck anymore. Da Perzinga
Why should Rockstar Games change the system? I think it's like in every past GTA... Or they'll make the same system as in Red Dead Redemtion.

73duster
I don't see what it could be replaced with. The best idea is spending time in a hospital bed and play mini games? No thanks.

(Must be 18 or older to buy.) But yeah in all seriousness there's no need to change it, the Reason RDR just reloaded your last save insdead of wakeing up in a hospital was because well, the lack of hospitals in 1900's rural America, and the fact that odds are you might not survive a trip to get some bullets removed back then. Technically, RDR respawns you in your nearest owned safehouse in lieu of a hospital. Medical care is supposedly home remedies and bedrest, and possibly rescue and house calls by caregivers, as in the scenario that brings to MacFarlane Ranch in the first place. Huh, I stand corrected then. I allways thought it just reloaded your last save since 90% of the time I was running on my Auto save and figured it spawned me there as if I loaded the game from the menu.
