trip
I would have liked to tack this onto an existing topic, but...DMV Revokes Vanity Plate Over Obscene Osama Reference http://autos.aol.com/article/dmv-revokes-v...26pLid%3D155848 I lived in VA for a year. They love their vanity plates down there it seems. Here in PA we have a team of 3 people that review all vanity plate requests...and they may be even more strict than VA. If I were on VA's team of approvers I would have denied that plate too. And I'm a liberal mother f*cker. We all just need to be aware of the fact that some people want to bring up their children in as pure as they can. lil weasel
Odd, that it was ok for SEVEN years and suddenly there's a 'complaint'? And does this mean any plate that leads with 'F.' is not allowed?
trip
Odd, that it was ok for SEVEN years and suddenly there's a 'complaint'?And does this mean any plate that leads with 'F.' is not allowed? I agree that it is odd that it is 7 years later. The 'F' plates is why humans review the plates. We can all play semantics and whatnot but when it comes to 'f-something' we all know what the 'f' implies. Moth
It reminds me of this It was fine, until someone complained about it. They thought it was pedophilic in nature. Formerly known as The General
Otter
This just in! The F WORD IS FU*KING BANNED IN AMERICA! HOLY SH*T! HOLY F*CK! THEYRE ASSAULTING MY F*CKING PATRIOTISM! Seriously weasel, what the f*ck are you getting at? You're offended because some asshole redneck can't have vanity plates that clearly allude to the word "f*ck" in them? The whole idea of vanity plates alone is a f*cking joke. He could put that sh*t on a bumper sticker were he so inclined, why on earth should a guy expect a government agency to support his moronic sh*t? Reminds me of a story a few years ago where a guy tired to write "f*ck you" as his signature for his driver's license. I mean, what the hell did he think was going to happen? lil weasel
I am 'offended' by your post. All I was pointing out was the plate was accecptible for seven (7) years and now that Obama had Osama murdered (rather than brought to trial) it suddenly isn't. And then theres the 'devil' plate they issued in its place
ryuclan
It reminds me of this It was fine, until someone complained about it. They thought it was pedophilic in nature. That's not pedophillic. It's hilarious and slightly cannibalistic. I think that if the man wore the plates for seven years and it was passed through every single time he should be able to keep it. Reminds me of the guy who had "NO PLATES" as his vanity plate and kept getting slapped with fines because the system automatically sent him tickets for not having plates (NO PLATES being what the is in the system for cars with no plates obviously). Also "6668UP" as a replacement plate is just a slap in the face.

Otter
Obama had Osama murdered (rather than brought to trial) You seem to imply there is a problem with that. You also seems to be under the impression that it was Obama's decision. Weasel, come on. It wasn't "acceptable" for 7 years; it either flew under the radar or the reviewer let it slide. What offends me is that you're obviously ignoring that.
fireguy109
Obama had Osama murdered (rather than brought to trial) You seem to imply there is a problem with that. You also seems to be under the impression that it was Obama's decision. Well, the president has to approve the majority of operations like that; if it was a truly covert action they might have run it without seeking approval but since the group that carried it out was acknowledged and we took responsibility it's safe to say he approved the action. That doesn't mean it was his idea, it means he approved it. He would have looked like a retard if he hadn't, so there wasn't really much to decide, but he still had to approve it. So in a way, yes, Obama made the decision to go through with it. Otter is right as well though, somebody else probably had it all set up and he just signed off on it. Better to simply take him out than having to deal with the show trial, inevitable allegations, etc. The last time this happened it didn't go according to plan and a certain leaked video made America look like sh*t: easier to just do it quick, less risk of problems. E: lol, my grammar is sh*t tonight. Edited April 28, 2012 by fireguy109
Dingdongs
Actually, he wouldn't have looked like a retard if he approved it. Most people in the room with him did not want to go through with it. That includes Hilary Clinton, Biden, the military staff in the room, his NSA, DNSA. The only person on his side to do the operation when he ordered it was Leon Panetta. This notion that Obama is not at all responsible for it is absolutely ludicrous.
Otter
This notion that Obama is not at all responsible for it ...what notion? Jesus, people, are we playing a game of Chinese whispers or something? Are you all insane? Am I too old for this?
