Look how many have tried to fill the gap that only CoD fills. CSS is old. All the clones are old. BF3 is not even a competitive shooter, it's a sandbox game, for example, yet its fans and even CoD fans fought all winter over which was better, as if they are comparable. I'm not being rude to you, I'm just saying, it is an acquired taste - you know, skill based tactical shooters (especially cod where skilled players need to face off against noob tubers and other noobs like g18s and akimbo FMG9 - makes the game require MORE skill for the classy players who don't use noob stuff, by letting nooby players have OP stuff, we have to destroy them with more skill than if they were given a normal gun like us where they would be too easy to beat) Call of Duty is the only game of its kind. Anything else is outdated and can't even aim down sights, and if it can, it's just not good and dies in a week as people go back to Call of Duty. I think people hate call of duty for 2 reasons and 2 reasons ONLY: 1: Hipsters 2: Bad at it/no skill in FPS. No other reason to dislike Call of Duty, unless one simply hasn't played it. All the cods are weak besides MW2, and it receives the most hate (cod 4 WAS good, but you can only play mods or noob 1-shot camper hardcore mode these days). Doesn't make sense to me. CoD is the king of FPS for a reason: Because it's the only one. Because all the other attempts fail miserably, or totally miss the point of competitive first person shooters and ignore multiplayer level design fundementals and make maps too big and put vehicles in etc, that's all bad for competitive gaming. Good for sandbox gaming, good for army-fun, whatever, but not good for competitive gaming, so that's why no one can compete, they are all doing it wrong, and cod is doing it right. For what it's worth =) There's nothing wrong at all with Call of Duty. This forum is filled mostly with GTAfanboys who'd rather sit alone in their rooms doing drug and gang wars missions in EFLC over and over again instead of play a fun multi shooter like CoD. So what if they are promoting another game, I would be pissed if I was a game developer and spent years making MP3 only to start advertising Gta V, Yes I'm a huge Gta fan but don't get me wrong, I would defiantly be pissed. For now let MP3 have the limelight, and when they start advertising Gta V, trust me they wont disappoint us, they will make tons of information that will blow are minds, like they have with MP3 well people who are fans of the game, unfortunately I'm not a fan so it doesn't bother me. Some of us like the other titles, some of us will play them, some of us will enjoy them, but their fans want GTA, and don't really care about anything else. Rockstar was wrong when they said they don't need a GTA every year. They are gaining a larger fanbase, but their real series is GTA. There is no reason to tell your fans to stop telling you what they want - that is counter productive and bad for business. They are hopefully realizing that regardless of their other projects, GTA is the one people want to see and really care about, and other games are just that - other games. That's how I feel about it. I see the comments as well and go "god, let some other games and fans of other genres get some rockstar love..." right along with you, for sure, but at the same time, I know that Rockstar is pretty stupid for putting 4 years between GTA's. When that's really the only game the majority of their fans even care about enough to play all the way through. My 2 cents. I do think it would be beneficial for all parties involved for R* to make GTA a bi-annual release. It makes sense for R* from a business perspective, and it makes sense for the consumer. And before anyone mentions, "BUT WHAT ABOUT COD!?!?!?", realize that if R* dedicates more of their time to the GTA franchise, namely two years of non-stop work, GTA would certainly not turn into COD. In fact, I truly think that R* has only been working on V for two years. Also, I'm not trying to suggest that R* should completely abandon diversification of products outside of GTA, I just think that it makes more sense for them to produce a GTA game more often than every four years. Rockstar cant release one bit of MP3 info on twitter, Facebook, or their official site, wherever without fans bitching and moaning about GTAV. Do they really think begging them is really going to make it come faster? Rockstar recently posted a new screenshot of MP3 on facebook and the comments section is just ridden with people threatening and whining about there being no GTAV news. Hundreds of comments like that. I don't know about you guys but im looking forward to MP3. Maybe it was a mistake to release ANY info at all before MP3, maybe Rockstar is feeling that way. I'm happy they did, but the way the fan base is acting, maybe they are thinking twice. GOOD, they should be thinking twice it was a retarded idea. Gta releases are always the most anticipated so release info within months of eachother. Really, Really bad idea to release something before max payne. Love the game, wish I hadn't gotten extremely hyped about it before six months of nothing. Btw, I'd take someone bitching about something over bitching about other people bitching any day of the week. And now I'm the bitch bitching about bitches bitching about bitching. How do you report threads that need to be locked? Everybody just wants to hear their No. 1 single over and over again. I hate to qualify my sympathy, but they should appreciate by now the popularity of GTA.
