esparado87
I really hope you can make big bucks thru companies like you did in VC and SA. However, I think they should be harder to make money of then in those two games. Like you had to invest stuff too the company to make it roll money (but no protection system like in VC Stories, that was just annoying)

Racecarlock
Because when I think GTA, I think stock and housing markets. Yeah, no. I'd rather just rampage around in a tank for a while.

esparado87
OK, im having a idea. What was internet good for in GTA IV? Dating, ringtones, some info... and that's it! Would be really nice if you could control your illigal factory/company you own thru internet. Buy additional stuff to improve income, see how much you earn in that company e.t.c. This way you also don't need to go to each place you own to get your money, like you did in vice city (this was kinda fixed in san andreas, but not everybody wanted that small grove street shack too be your main house for income). brian.
Maybe an online stock trading website like E-Trade? Michael, is that you? I think it would be really cool if they have a way to buy stuff online and you can pick it up at your house in 3 to 7 business days lol.

I'm hoping that the protag has a tablet/iPad device, and that almost everything can be accessed/performed with it, in game. They could put the map on the tablet, along with the internet as well. Saints Row 3 had a smart phone that you used to transfer money to your account instead of going to collect it. Putting a similar system on the tablet would be awesome, IMO. Lots of possibilities if the protag has an iPad... and knowing R* and their tendency to parody popular culture, I think he will.
Vormek
If you can own businesses in V they should drastically improve it. It was cool in VC and SA but the only thing you really got out of it was collecting money on a regular basis. It wasn't really much fun. It would be better if you could be INVOLVED in the business such as hiring more workers, expand the business to more cities etc etc. This way you can actually control your own business and as you work hard to improve your company the money will pour in at a faster rate. DarrinPA
Maybe an online stock trading website like E-Trade? Michael, is that you? Michael? I was refering to the OP's post that said "Online business purchasing and selling" I didn't know what he meant. But if they did have "stock trading" I think it would be best if it was a simple as the Horse Betting in GTA SA. Put your money down, wait a few seconds to see if you're a winner. And with Iphone/ipad you should be able to take pictures like you could do in san andreas with a camera (I was missing that in gta 4) Would be nice to make movies with iphone/ipad too, like with the movie editor in gta 4(not sure if this could work with consoles though..). And for those people who said the phone in gta 4 was annoying, just turn off the incoming calls, you lazy bastards... However, the thing about mixing singleplayer with multiplayer THRU a mobilephone...IDK if that was such a good idea (it didn't really work out so good, like if you dc, then you go all the way back too singleplayer, should go back to a multiplayer menu instead). Yeah, more stuff to do with the places you own, but hopefully the defending property/factory system in vice city stories will never return. Triple Vacuum Seal
I would like to run a large business in GTAV as a front for illegal activity like drug dealing and border trafficking. "shut up, sit down, relax"
Death2Drugs
I hope that sites such as Craplist.net are actually more interactive. For example, you should be able to buy things such as cars, houses, etc that you actually can in real-life Craigslist. This gives the internet more purpose than it had in IV. But GTA is all about earning money through shortcuts like crime. If we're encouraged to not do crimes and instead build up a large company in the first place, then why even have crime in there? Why would it be called Grand Theft Auto anymore? It would just be a tycoon game with a 3rd person walking interface.
wildstyle91
Yes there should be businesses you get to manage, by that I mean take out the competition and protect the business. The old dude can be the brains behind it all, you are just the muscle.

Slamman
Maybe an online stock trading website like E-Trade? Where in the *&%$# is the fun factor in this??! That's where the problem resides. The Internet is passive, but so is the TV in GTA, but as long as it's not something that's wasting build time on it's not a bother since it's not something we buy this game for, plain and simple Empire Building ? In? or Out? That would summize this question as in or out, perhaps but in regard to the above, going "straight" or being honest and unassuming in GTA is not uncommon or unrealistic, the trick is integration One facet coming to mind is you try to be honest, but are forced into the criminal area, you're a victim of extortion, one example Edited April 28, 2012 by Slamman

Maybe another gen. perhaps? Some form of investing should exist though; whether it be thoroughbred horses, businesses, interest-bearing accounts, marijuana farming, black market gold bars increasing in value throughout the game, etc. "shut up, sit down, relax"
Slamman
Once you stole a car, or broke in a horse, you'd be able to buy a deed for a horse, or car from Import/Export, but I really didn't use the game in that way, so for me, it's mostly a non-issue, and it's lacking in fun factor, bottom line. Add to my appended example, you could be a victim of blackmail, I was watching the remake Gone in 60 Seconds, it's a lot like a GTA theme going on there! ha ha
